German Democratic Republic Frankfurt County Boe Base

私は当基を拠点にていた第666戦術機中隊 (黒の宣告) に配属された.

And so, Pham Ti Lan’s leave the battlefield due to injury has led to me being chosen to fill the gap in ranks.

私は基地の中を歩き回っていた.
I take a tour through the base.

立ち入り禁止区越は別だが, すべての兵土は基地の構造を熟知していなければならないからだ.
Though this place is new to me, its my responsiblity to become familiar with the grounds.

特に戦術機のパイロットである衛士は, 緊急時に基地のどこにいようと,
目をつむったままでも格納庫に辿りつけるようにしていなければならない.
Especially as a tsf pilot, in case of emergency,
I should be able to find my way through the hangar even with my eyes closed.

そういうわけで, 基地を歩き回っていたのだが, ここ東ドイツでは事情はそれだけに止まらない.
Sothats why, I roamed through the base, but here in East Germany things can never be so simple.

この国では, 口を滑らせた一言が致命的になる.

この基地に設置されているはずの盗聴器の特定を行っていたのだ.

I am one of those people, but I am also subject to survelliance myself. But if I can identify the informant, I can still put up a fight.

格納庫を見ているときに, 奇妙なことにきづいた.
ある整備兵が何もせず, ただ手持無沙汰な樣子で立っているのだ.
While in the hangar, I notice something wierd.
One of the maintanence workers not doing anything, just loitering there in a casual manner.

Lise: こんにちは～
“Oh hello~”

整備兵 Mechanic
え～と... 少尉?
“o-oh… Lieutenant?”

Lise: 最近, ここに配属されたリィズ・ホー二ンシュタイン少尉です. よろしくお願いしますね
“Lieutenant Hohenstein, I was recently assigned here. We’ll be working together from here on out”

“ah~, sounds important. Well then, I’ll leave you to it”

私は整備兵に手を振るとその場を去った.
I wave my hand to the maitenance worker and make my exit.

格納庫の奥に行くと, 数人の整備兵が集まって何かをしていた.
Making my way along the back wall of the hangar, I see several of the maitenance crew gathered around doing something.

物陰に隠れて, 集まっている整備兵の方を見てみる. そこでは何か雑誌のようなもの見て, 盛り上がっているようだった.
From behind cover, I take a closer look at the gathered mechanics. They appear to be holding something like a magazine, and getting excited over it.

目を凝らして見てみる.
どうやらグラビア雑誌のようだった. しかも西側の.
I strain to get a closer look.
Apparently its some kind of gravure magazine. From the west no doubt.

この手の類のものは, いくら排除してもゴキブリのように潜り込んでくる.
Things of this kind, even though they’re banned still pop up like cockroaches.

思想的に問題なければ黙認されることも多いが, 違法であることも間違いない.

Its often not enforced so long as there is no idealogical issue involved, but there is no doubt it is illegal.

学生ならともかく, 大の大人が集まって何をやっているのだろう.
Not just students, but even grown ups gather around to do this.

私のところからはよく見えないが, それがどうやら水著のピンナップであることがわかった.
I can’t see it clearly from here, but it appears to be a swimsuit pin up.
