- - Overall Gist -
- Arrow Wizard is what it says on the tin: A Wizard who specialises in arrows and archery in general.
- Ideally playing along the lines of a medium-weight Zoner or Trapper via projectiles that are more about quality than quantity, and more precise attacks that rewards well-aimed strikes.
- However, she suffers harshly from being outflanked, and might lack good combo potential.
- - Gimmick -
- A.Wizard main form of projectile firing and stage control comes from firing arrows from her Strong attacks.
- A quick shot from said strong attack will send the arrow a short distance, while a properly charged strong will send it flying potentially across the stage.
- Some of her special attacks allow for greater control of said arrow(s), helping to ensure they reach their mark.
- Aside from that, her other 'gimmick' is the focus on attacking at the front, which means that while a majority of her offensive attacks have sweet spots, she struggles with attacking anyone directly above/below/behind her with her up/down attacks, having to rely on the weaker Nair and Bair to attack those behind her facing.
- - Jab -
- A.Wizard materialises a arrow in her hand, as she takes quick swipes with it in front of her in a 3-hit combo.
- Potentially can have her throw the arrow at the end of the 3-hit combo, with pathetic range/damage due to throwing it by hand.
- - Tilts/Dash -
- A.Wizard causes her staff to project as a giant arrow to use as a spear, as she uses it to thrust forward (side tilt), strike up above (up tilt), slash ahead of her (dash attack) or sweep at the legs to knock them up (down tilt).
- The dash and side/up tilts have sweet spots at the tip of the arrow, but have narrower hurtboxes.
- - Aerials -
- The forward/up/down aerials are similar to the tilts, involving poking her arrow-projecting staff at opponents, with the aforementioned narrower hurtbox and sweetspot.
- The Bair is more similar to her jab, using a arrow to shank behind her, minus the potential projectile throwing.
- Nair is Palutena's Nair, but worse.
- - Strong attacks -
- Arrow wizard pulls back a magical string from her staff as a arrow materialises within the 'bow'.
- The longer the attack is held, the further and faster it will fly when launched. It is treated as a normal strong attack for the first (few) frame(s) but becomes a projectile if nothing was hit from it.
- The arc taken depends on the direction of the smash, going sideways on side strong, 45' downwards on down strong and 80' upwards on a up strong.
- As mentioned before, the longer the strong attack is held, the faster the arrow flies, which might impact damage done as well. Finally, there are two modes for each attack, as mentioned in her Down Special.
- - Neutral Special -
- The neutral special allows you to stop any active arrows in the air, and put them within a purely magical bow where they are.
- Tapping neutral special just puts the arrow in this status, while holding it down prepares you to shoot it in any 360' direction as it charges up.
- Each arrow can only be affected by this once, and only 2 can be held at once, to prevent being able to spam it.
- - Down Special -
- This swaps between two modes for A.Wizard's strong attacks, between either a singular strong arrow or a trio of weaker ones.
- The larger arrow option has quicker charge, weaker point-blank knockback/damage but stronger singular projectile that can be controlled via the neutral special.
- Meanwhile the trio arrow option has longer charge and stronger point-blank knockback/damage, but the three arrows as projectiles are much weaker, spreads out in a cone, and can't be controlled.
- At the start of the match, A.Wizard begins with the single arrow shooting type, but can switch easily between the two shots with down special with minimum endlag.
- - Up Special -
- uhhhhhh Pac-Man's up special but it's a bow instead of a trampoline? unsure about this, might need a better suggestion for this
- - Side Special -
- uhhhh Byleth's neutral special??? Really needs a better alternitive, since A.Wizard's main gimmick IS Byleth's neutral special in a sense.
- - Kirby's Copy -
- Copies A.Wizard's side strong, might be able to be aimed into the up/down variant by tilting up/down on the first few frames.
- (secondary thing to work on after the majority's done)
