I trust you will all understand. This topic is to be kept clean, as to its current purpose of presenting candidates to leadership, and ensuing debates. Debate shall be held by those able to vote.


As I understand it, the spirit of the rule is to prevent interference in the elections from outsiders.

Post #153 was talking about the eligibility of the OP in being allowed to have a voice in the elections and be a voter. He was not expressing his opinion on the elections themselves.

Post #154 is from a long time member of EFL. He left the clan because of inactivity, but he is still important to this MC. I do not think he should be considered as an outsider. If any MC member does regard this post as outside interference in a further post, then it might probably be fair to suppress his voice.

It is my request to the moderators to not be proactive in deleting comments for the good of my MC. Obvious spam or flaming is an exception, of course, But EFL is an old MC and the moderator here (Lord Syrian is a member of the MC and has announced his conditional candidacy in these elections) knows that even EFL's clan chats include outsiders. Please let their voices be heard. The candidates can then answer their comments or reach out personally.

Mods, I beg of you - please help me help my clan move on. Please let there be dissent so I can answer it and try to heal any wounds which might remain. Do not include their votes if their voices are favorable to me, and count them if against me - I have no problems with that. If I am elected leader, I will have to lead everyone who disagrees with me as well. I will have to change what I believe in to what they want to believe in. And to do that, I first need to understand and answer their concerns. Please do not let this election be tainted with voter suppression or not being given freedom to speak. It is essential for Pat's legacy that this election is fair, everybody accepts the result and the clan moves on, onward and upward, as I hope. Please let us carry forward Pat's legacy and show him that all the work Lord Patrickou has done all these years was worth it. I would like to believe that he has helped in the genesis of a united family that puts real life before the game and is democratic in spirit, still hungry to move forward in the game and not take any risks. There will be people who disagree with me, the solution is not to not let them speak, it is to hear them, try to please them if possible, and do what is after all in the clan's interests.
