  1. 18:59] And so, as the dust settles, there are two left standing.
  2.
  3. "...That was a nice warm up." -- Ky turns, facing Lyulf. He hadn't put his sword up yet.
  4.
  5. "You." The Dullahan's had more than enough time to retreat, as it seemed the duo was now... splitting. Decidedly so. "You're on Slyvanum, aren't you?"
  6. (Ky)
  7. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  8.
  9. [18:59] His hand was on his throat! Hector had nearly done a number to him but his trick of turning them to gold was both unexpected and fantastically executed! No doubt Lyulf was more the kind to bludgeon a problem into the dirt but this moment he got to be creative.
  10.
  11. When Ky swerved on him the Gunslinger's hand twitched. His plasma-caster not quite raised to point at the other man. Yet, there it was glowing with a caustic power that hinted towards destruction.
  12.
  13. "What's it to you?!"
  14.
  15. His aggression was now leveled upon someone all the more naturally fitting to receive it. A spasm of bio-electrical energy coursed through his frame and with gritted teeth he snarled.
  16.
  17. "Now, we doing this or not?"
  18. (Lyulf Yayle)
  19. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  20.
  21. [18:59] "You're even lower than I thought."
  22.
  23. Ky keeps his hand tight on his weapon, but he doesn't swing yet. He had no qualms in escalating this, unlike before, but he still wouldn't be the first to swing. Not like that'd make much different in Lyulf's current state, the words he were saying were fightin' words, no two ways about it.
  24.
  25. "This is degrading. The least you could do is try and keep yourself alive.
  26.
  27. You're a valuable asset - I'd rather not see you removed so early into the game - so either stop yourself, or I'll make you."
  28. (Ky)
  29. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  30.
  31. [18:59] "LOWER?! I NEED AN EDGE TO KILL THAT KING!"
  32.
  33. It was an immediate outpouring of anger. Who was Ky to insult him? Ky the man who'd allowed himself to be beaten into the dirt when they were but teens? No, Lyulf's temper was already on a short fuse at the best of time. Now? Now it was exploding.
  34.
  35. Self-destruction as still destruction after all.
  36.
  37. "Asset? I'm so sick of being viewed as some tool. Don't you freakin' get it? No gods. No masters. I am my own master." There was a slippery slope in his logic. One that no doubt the drugs he'd been convinced into taking would prevent him from seeing.
  38.
  39. After all being enslaved to a drug was no different than a master of flesh and blood. He paused for a moment; brief seconds as he looked upon Ky. "I'm done." The words were spoke as the revolver rose at the other man. Not the fists of childhood but the deadly weapons of warriors.
  40.
  41. It a battle for Lyulf's soul. Though, he didn't know it.
  42. (Lyulf Yayle)
  43. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  44.
  45. [18:59] Ky says, "You're a fool. We're after the same end - that's why I need you."
  46. [18:59] Ky says, "But if you'll be ruled by something as carnal as a drug... maybe it's better this way."
  47. [18:59] Ky says, "..."
  48. [18:59] Lyulf blinked, his eyes widening slowly.
  49. (Lyulf Yayle)
  50. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  51.
  52. [18:59] {Won Aggressive RPB against Ky}
  53. [18:59] ** Lyulf Yayle has inflicted an injury upon Ky. ("Temporary Injury", "Temporary Injury", "Temporary", "") **
  54. [18:59] This was a fight that had been in the making for years. Since they'd been nothing but children sparked on to compete by the childish greed of a crazy Felinae. Now look where they stood? Each a demi-god of magic in their own right and yet. Where had that left them?
  55.
  56. Clashing over petty advice and insults oh how Hatred ran deep.
  57.
  58. The fight was shorter than their battle with the Dullahan yet it was no less brutally fought. If anything the hatreds of each man were laid bare upon the battlefield. Ky's master of his sword and his damned cosmic magic was put on display and in truth?
  59.
  60. It shamed Lyulf.
  61.
  62. Here was a man who for all Lyulf could imagine was weak. A lesser magi in everything yet they showcased a degree of power and skill that put his own strength of magic to shame. Where Ky had found true strength in himself where had the Half-rhoyn found it?
  63.
  64. In dust of gold.
  65.
  66. The realization snapped something in Lyulf's mind. He lost himself in a fury that sent his power skyrocketing. Berserking as he simply attacked and attacked. Yet, that same rage was nearly his undoing. Yet, perhaps Ky had overlooked something about the raging Industrial magi.
  67.
  68. He was oh so cunning! One of those mighty lances was tossed out and easily dodge. It was an opening and Ky took it. Yet, as he rush Lyulf only smirked, his arms crossing. The great lance struck him like a rampaging boar and sent him hurtling forwards.
  69.
  70. All Lyulf had to do was step out of the way. He had won but what had it gained him? A brief high? A moment of pleasure. Yet, now he was faced with the simple fact that Ky was stronger than him. Yes, he had won but it had been through the drugs not his own might.
  71.
  72. "..."
  73.
  74. Walking over he place a crown of cold-iron thorns upon Ky's brow. Letting it dig into him and sap his strength. Yet, once it was done his lips pulled back into a smirk.
  75.
  76. "Only martry's Ky. Today you were the martyr for your cause and... I understand it. I have been weak and in that weakness I-" He paused and then went silent. Why did he always talk to his beaten foes? Turning away the man headed north. Back to Achyon.
  77. (Lyulf Yayle)
  78. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  79.
  80. [18:59] When Ky's aura elevates to it's true form is when the battle truly began for the pair. Embroiled in their conflict, the very land itself would give way as the pair of magi rampaged through the forest - every magic at their disposal uniquely suited for destruction - and only that, truly. It'd be no great surprise that they are as a natural disaster running rampant, wild and directionless as they tear across the land. The nature of Ky's cosmic magic had become enhanced by cosmic influence, although the exact nature of it was beyond Lyulf. In truth, it was beyond Ky as well as he seemed barely in control of his own powers at time.
  81.
  82. There's still some level of restraint, from Ky's end. He, for whatever reason, was unwilling to manifest that second blade's edge when fighting Lyulf. Perhaps he didn't want to dismember his foe - or perhaps he was simply unable to sustain both powers at the same time - either way.
  83.
  84. Restraint was nota word that meant much to a man on Sylvanum. The empowered magi is able to surpass Ky, but only in this moment of high, only in the euphoria of a drug was this possible. When he was out... Not if - when - it would be as fleeting as a dream. Would he even remember this conversation? Would he even remember the look in Ky's eyes, that searing anger and frustration as he stares down Lyulf?
  85.
  86. Would he remember - after all the dust dried up - the feeling of Ky gripping onto his arm as he pulled away and digging those nails in deep. Would he remember Ky saying,
  87.
  88. "We define our own destinies... No man... is a slave... Not even... Y..."
  89.
  90. --- And that hand slipping, like so many of these memories made in another world.
  91.
  92. (Ky)
