- How to logcat Aliucord errors for bug reporting
- Note: ~~You need root or pc access at least once , there is no way around this requirement~~
- There is now a method without needing root or a pc BUT it only works on android 9+ :somuchwin:
- Rooted (Easiest)
- 1. Install your preferred logcat viewer (but in this guide I'm going to use matlog)
- 2. Open Matlog and grant root access
- 3. By default it should start logging but if not press the play button
- 4. Recreate your issue by opening Aliucord and repeating what caused your bug/error/crash
- 5. Go back to matlog and press the pause button to stop logging
- 6. Search Aliucord and logs related to Aliucord should appear
- 7. Find where you crashed (Easiest way to do this is by using timestamps) , expand the error and screenshot it (exporting the whole log is better but normally the singular error is enough)
- 8. Send that screenshot to Aliucords #support channel
- Non Root (PC Required)
- 1. Install your preferred logcat viewer (but in this guide I'm going to use matlog)
- 2. Enable Developer options (Google this if you don't know how)
- 3. In Developer options Enable USB Debugging
- 4. On your PC install ADB drivers from here <https://is.gd/dp0iAb> (you can install them officially or elsewhere, this is just a simple method to explain)
- 5. After installation plug your device into your PC and a pop up on the device should ask to allow this PC to use ADB , press allow
- 6. Open Powershell/cmd and run the command ADB devices , if a device comes up you have followed the instructions successfully
- 7. run "adb shell pm grant com.pluscubed.matlog android.permission.READ_LOGS" , this will allow matlog to function without root access (just replace the matlog package name with your preferred one in the non root guide)
- 8. Follow the rooted guide from step 3
- Non Root (No PC Required BUT Android 9+ AND some devices are missing wireless adb)
- 1. Install your preferred logcat viewer (but in this guide I'm going to use matlog)
- 2. Check if you have wireless adb, go to developer settings (Guide how to enable developer settings <https://is.gd/uq8mno>) and near Enable USB Debugging you should see Wireless Debugging (<https://is.gd/FzcAWk>)
- 2.5 If you can't see Wireless Debugging, this method will not work :(
- 3. In developer settings enable "USB Debugging" and enable "Wireless Debugging"
- 4. Install LADB from <https://github.com/ShiroBlank/LADB/releases/tag/sex> - Thank you Shiro for kindly building
- 5. <https://is.gd/wflFTQ> Im linking this guide because it has gifs that explain the process a lot better than I can, follow step 4's instructions then return here
- 6. Hopefully you have LADB up and running , if so run the command "adb shell pm grant com.pluscubed.matlog android.permission.READ_LOGS" , this will allow matlog to function without root access (just replace the matlog package name with your preferred one)
- 7. After opening matlog, follow the root guide from step 3 onwards
