Tales from Ealdwic: The Rats in the walls part 3
(Yuuko opens the door to Lalina's apartment and enters followed by Janis, George and Oksana, Jimmy the Don and the 5 rats he had brought with him. As they enter the kitchen, they can see the fridge door has been opened and its contents emptied on the ground where most of them had been consumed. A package of raw chicken seems to have been a particular favorite as the trail of blood and juice forms a trail back to a rat hole in the corner of the kitchen. In addition to the mess made with the raw chicken there is also a spilled pint of melted ice cream that contains a set of tracks that indicates Browni has grown. Jimmy the Don and his crew race up to the mess in the refrigerator. Jimmy's nose begins to wiggle as he sniffs the aromas of the food that was half consumed and dropped to the floor.)
Jimmy the Don: This is not how you treat a delicacy, do we boys? (He turned to his crew as he examines the ice cream tracks leading from the refrigerator. Jimmy sniffs the ice cream,) Hmmm, do I detect a hint of butterscotch? Rats got good taste, eh boys? (The crew consisting of Big Paulie, Lil' Paulie, Snaps, Shortie and Figaro nods and wiggle their noses, and chatter their teeth in approval.)
Yuuko: (placing her pack down on the nearby table, she takes out a set of small cameras and a block of Swiss cheese) Would you gentlemen mind putting these on? (as she offers the cameras to the rats, everyone can hear something banging around in the vents)
Big Paulie: (the biggest and strongest of all the rats, takes a sniff at the cheese and the cameras, and gives his approval of safety to his Boss, Jimmy.) We're gonna need a hand with that, doll. Since we have no hands. (Big Paulie looks at Yuuko as she frowns at the idea of handling rats,) Don't worry doll face, we ran ourselves through a dishwasher at the Horned God earlier, heavy duty cycle.

The Illuminati Rats:
Janis: (takes a few cameras and helps Oksana and George put it on by attaching them to their red leather Templar cross collars, then attaches one to herself.)
Yuuko: (picking up Big Paulie and fastening the camera to his head, she repeats this process with Jimmy the Don, Lil' Paulie, Snaps, Shortie and Figaro. Before turning to George and Oksana) would you two like to search the vents or the rest of the apartment first?
Oksana: (Glances up at Yuuko while Janis was putting on her blood focus the size of a pink cat toy mouse,) Since we can't really navigate the walls like these stinky rats over there, I think George and I would be better if we checked the open spaces of the place.
George: Ya, ya that is good idea (replied George as he adjusts his focus with his teeth.)
Big Paulie: Hey, who you callin' stinky, pretty pussycat? (Big Paulie snaps out as he is nose to nose with Oksana.)
Oksana: Back off, little rat, you're smelly like the sewers. Real unfashionable. (Oksana retorted back at the big rat).
Jimmy the Don: Quit it, the both of ya. (snaps Jimmy the Don as Big Paulie scurries off in a huff waiting for orders from his boss.) We got 99 problems, but right now, these cats ain't any of them. Capeche? (Jimmy eyes on Big Paulie as he backs away but, Jimmy rushes him to the refrigerator door and pins him while chattering his teeth.) I said. Capeche? (Jimmy eyes his lieutenant then all the other rats that work under him.)
(As the two argue they can hear an audible tittering coming from inside the walls, as a chicken bone is thrown from the rat hole in the corner.)
Yuuko: I will start with the bedrooms and then make my way back to the kitchen (propping up an ipad on the table.) Janis would you mind guiding the TheLumieRats through the walls?
Janis: Absolutely, (replied Janis as she walks over to the corner of the room noticing a hole in the wall. She clicks her shotgun after she loads it with shotgun shells and motions to the rats,) You guys wanna do the honors?
Jimmy the Don: (see the first hole in the wall in the corner of the room. He sees the chicken wishbone at the foot of the hole and sniffs,) This bone is fresh. (Lil' Paulie. Snaps.) Get in there!
Lil' Paulie: Yes, Boss! (Lil' Paulie and Snaps climb up the opening and begin the navigate. The rest of the team behind can hear a loud scurrying of their claws up the wall.)
(As Lil' Paulie enters the hole it becomes apparent, that Browni has been in more than just the kitchen. The inside of the hole is lined with bits of torn paper and cloth, as well as the plastic wrappers from several kinds of lunch meat. As Paulie makes his way up the wall he comes to the first junction. To the left is a sweet smell almost like candy, to the right is the pungent smell of rotting meat. Janis and the rest of the rats proceed to the living room next to the kitchen. She examines behind each piece of furniture. Behind the sofa, the loveseat, the TV entertainment center, and the bookcases that were a little too flushed with the wall. Should she move the massive bookcase? By herself? Would she do it without it teetering over and everything contained would come crashing down. Peering through the little space between the book case and the wall, she couldn't see anything out of the ordinary, however the wall didn't seem quite right, behind the very bottom shelf. Janis bends down to remove the books from the bookshelf, and her eyes widen and nearly jumps at the sight of another hole.)
Janis: Jimmy? Found another one.
Jimmy: (sniffs around the two holes behind each other and finds the scent of meat.) Figaro. Shortie. Get in there! (Figaro the speedy rat and Shortie, the smallest rat of the gang, quickly jump into the hole and scurry through the spaces in the entire wall.)
(As Figaro and Shortie enter the hole and travel back about 40 cm before encountering a pile of bones from different animals around London, some of them still with scraps of meat on them. Behind the pile is another junction, to the left they can hear something rattling around, to the right they can see a enormous rats tail disappearing around a corner)
Shortie: (sniffs at the meat that was left behind in the wall tunnel. He could almost identify which meat is what.) Hmm, pork chops? (He couldn't believe his eyes when he saw the rat's tail slithering around the corner just before him.) Figaro? That you? (Shortie whispered as he slowly turns the corner. As Shortie followed the tail, he could see it disappearing around another corner as another smell came wafting up the tunnel, peanut butter)
Janis: (carefully moves onto the basement with shotgun in hand, where the laundry room is. Pointing the shotgun barrel at the cupboards, she opens them up above one by one. Opening, rearranging the laundry supplies inside then closing the cupboards. The final cupboard opened and a steady stream of powder detergent came rushing out of the box and piling onto Janis' shoes.)  Goddammit! (when the streaming pile of detergent ceased, it revealed yet another massive hole. Janis rearranges the laundry detergent box and picks up Jimmy and Big Paulie with her gloved hands.)
Jimmy: Well, looks like this is our train. (Jimmy says to Big Paulie as they make their way through the hole.)
Janis: (In the basement could hear all the rattling and rumbling inside the walls.)
(As Jimmy and Big Paulie enter the hole they can hear tittering from around the corner and see a bony hand beckoning them around the corner. The direction from which the hand his coming has no smell associated with it.)
Big Paulie: (standing behind Jimmy when they saw the beckoning hand, he whispers,) Psst, Boss! Lemmie go first, Boss.
Jimmy: (steps aside to let Big Paulie take the lead.) Did you see that? (Jimmy asks as he sniffs ahead.)
Big Paulie:Yeah. Yeah, Boss! It's like a bony, decomposed hand. But there's a scent I can't describe. (Big Paulie replies as they move forward. They both take the corner to follow the movement of the bony hand.)
(the hand leads the two rats through a winding maze of tunnels within the walls until finally they come to a nest under the floor, here they don’t just find bones from other animals but different parts of half eaten human fetuses and what looks like the remains of a dead cat. On the other side of the nest is an opening to the air vents, on the other side they can smell peanut butter.)
Jimmy: Dolce madre di Gaia! (Jimmy cried as he and Big Paulie navigate the nest of carnage and carcasses of human fetuses.) This rat eats humans? Mostro! Why can't he eat garbage like all the other honest rats?

The Anima Cats:
(Oksana and George look into the master bedroom. They see the pet beds all pampered and organized to perfection where Icarus, Brutus and Presto sleep. They sneak under the bed, around the dresser drawers, the pet beds and the elegant chair in the corner. They move onto the far side of the room where the baby's bassinet is. Oksana and George crawl underneath the draped covering of the base of the bassinet, and sniff the floor, to find yet another hole on the floor, but this one is only partially opened.)
Oksana: This rat had his hole nearly done up just under the baby bed. (Oksana paws her collar to give warning to the others.)
(Overhead George and Oksana hear a heavy thud in the bassinet followed by another thud on the floor, under the draped covering they can see Brownies hands and feet carrying him into the hall.)
Oksana: "There he goes! After him!" , (screeches Oksana as she takes off running after Browni as George runs behind her.) Contact! Contact! The rat is here! Browni is here! Running down the hall near the master bedroom!
(As George and Oksana chase Browni out into the hall Yuuko Burst from one of the bathrooms trying to pull something out of her hair)
Yuuko: Oh God help he’s in my hair, he is in my hair! (As Yuuko attempts to pull what looks like a smaller version of Browni out of her hair, behind George and Oksana, a larger version (about the size of a medium sized dog) emerges from the bedroom)
Browni: (The Browni they chased from the bedroom, looks back at George and Oksana with a sinister smile) dinner time!
(Jimmy and Big Paulie, descend down from the ceiling where Browni jumped down from and landed on the bassinet, out and onto the floor and then take off running after the commotion.)
Janis: (rushes from the laundry room to find Yuuko flailing her arms and hands at her head and hair,) Hold still, Yuuko!, (she yells as she gets ready to swing her blunt side of her shotgun like a baseball bat. she carefully aims for the rat in her long, black hair and swings for the rat, sending him flying across the hall and into the wall. She then shifts to hold her shotgun the right way, then turns to see the dog sized rat entering from the bedroom, she clicks her shotgun and yells, "HOUSEKEEPING!", then fired a few rounds into the huge rat.)
(the smaller rat  pops in a shower of blood upon impact, covering the nearby wall in blood as another Copy of Browni drops from the ceiling and on to Janis's head, the larger rat seems to vanish into thin air narrowly avoiding the shot before reappearing behind George and Oksana)
Big Browni: (opening his mouth full of Yellow fangs, he lunges after George and Oksana as a third copy rushes out of the wall and up Yuuko’s pant leg.)
Small Browni: (Biting down on Yuuko’s leg, he slithers back out with a mouth full of blood before making a run for the front door.)
(Jimmy and Big Paulie arrived to see the horrible commotion, and screech for their other members to converge at the main floor to help out with the brawl. They can hear the other rats rumbling through the walls to back their Boss up. Oksana and George arch their back, spiking up their furs and hiss at the beastly rat. They draw all their claws and dodge out of the way of the rats lunge, then they attack using a flurry of claws and teeth. Two more Browni clones emerge from the wall, rushing Jimmy and Big Paulie. One then throws Jimmy aside as another leaps on Big Paulie and sinks his teeth into the back of his neck)
Big Browni: (attempting to shake the cats from its back, it throws itself into the dresser attempting to crush George before running in to the hallway)
Janis: (screams as the rat scratches her scalp as it travels through her hair. She squints hard and reaches for the rat's tail with her hand. Then smashes the rat with her shotgun upside its head. Then she takes out her pistol and fires at the rat who was running for its life after taking a chomp out of Yuuko.)
(The bullet finds its mark and the rat pops like a blood filled balloon all over the carpet. As the larger Browni, stumbles out into the hall with the two cats on it, Yuuko lunges at the animal with a pocket knife pinning it against the wall and stabbing it multiple times before it gasps its last on the floor.)
Yuuko: (panting, she drops the pocket knife and then falls to her knees)
(Figaro, Shortie, and Lil' Paulie blast through the hallway, taking out the bad rats as they go. All three of them rush at the Browni clones who were pounding on Big Paulie.)
Big Paulie: Nah, nah. I got this! (Big Paulie screams out telling the underlings to back off. Big Paulie ducks a chomp, and grabs one Browni clone by the scruff with his claw, and the other Brownj clone by the other. Then gives both of them the biggest headbutt to the heads until stars start to circle around them and drop to the floor.)
(As the battle below unfolds, new holes begin opening the ceiling as more and more Browni clones, enter the hall, flooding it and chewing new holes in the floor, letting more clones through. As the hall seems to fill with them, they break off from the fight and begin to leave the hall and flood into the kitchen)
Janis: What's the plan?! (yells Janis as she reloads her shotgun and swings it on arm and switches to a flamethrower.)
Yuuko: (running into the kitchen) Block the front door, make sure they don’t get away!
Janis:Gladly. (Janis heads to the front door and throws any furniture she could find to barricade it so no rats would escape. Then waits with her trusty Templar issue flamethrower in hands at the ready.)
(As the rats flood into the kitchen the form a tower in front of the fridge door, grabbing a note pinned to it with a magnet.) Browni: Wales! It’s in Wales, everybody to Wales,
Browni mod: Wales! Wales! Wales! Wales! Wales! (the mob begins running toward the front door picking up every scrap of food in the kitchen in the process as Yuuko desperately tries to get the paper back from them.)
Janis: "You want some of this, bitches?!" (Janis pulls the trigger to release several bursts of flames at all the Browni rats in her sight. Janis burns out her flame thrower canister, quickly discharges the empty round and reloads with another canister from the table and proceeds to exterminate the scurrying rats as many as possible with more bursts from the flamethrower.)
(Oksana and George and the Luminatti rats battle the legion of Brownis away from Janis' flames trying to help Yuuko get the paper note.)
George: (climbs over the heads of many rats to get to the one holding the note. He targets his anima through focus and performs a chaos pull, a blue projectile grabbing the note and pulling it towards him.)
Browni: (Falling towards George and coming just millimeters from his teeth, he seems to blink from existence and reappear on the other side of the barricade. Clutching the note in his hands, he sticks out his tongue before disappearing again.)
Yuuko: (looking over the charred sea of rats and the remains of the destroyed home) is everyone alright? Did anyone get burned by mistake?
Janis: (wipes away some of the blood from her head with her hand.)
Oksana: (recovers in the corner licking her paws and tail. The ends of her fur on her tail were a little bit singed.)
George: (lays flat down in near exhaustion as he rests after being nearly crushed by the big Browni.)
(The Luminattis barely survived the battle with a few scratches of their own except for Big Paulie, he got the worst beating out of the whole mess.)
Jimmy: When Ziggy said that rat was a monster? He was right! (Jimmy mentions as he tries to pick up a scrap of food off the floor that the Brownis left behind.)
Oksana: George, you should have Dr. Lox have a look at your spine. (Oksana suggests as she takes a rest in the corner. Then gets up to snuggle with her mom, on her lap, who was sitting on the chair, facepalming at the table.)
Janis: What a mess! What a huge clusterfracking mess! (Janis mutters over and over.)
Yuuko: We should probably tell Lalina that they know where she is, I am sorry I pulled everyone into this but we know where they are head next, so we may be able to headed them off before they get there. In the mean time I am going to talk to someone about getting both the anima Cats and IlLuminatti Rats better weapons, if there are multiple Browni’s then we will all need better weapons. (As she moves to the door she puts hand on Janis shoulder,) I am sorry things didn’t go better, I’ll take care of the mess and Lalina’s deposit. (Before she leaves, she unpacks two containers filled with fish and cheese) I almost forgot I promised everyone lunch.
Janis: Don't worry, Yuuko. I'll help. I'll call in some vendors for repairs and cleanup first thing in the morning. (turns to the cats) And as for you, you better go and see Lox before you get to Wales. Oh and Jimmy, I hope you can find some means to get to Wales, or you can hitch with us.
Jimmy: Aw, signora! You're too much. (Jimmy replies bashfully.) Alright, looks like it's back to the rat mound we go. And Finnegan better have some bigger ammunition for us this time. We're gonna need it.
