- A - Jab
- Dashing and then pressing A: Dash attack
- TILTS: Holding down a direction and then pressing A
- Holding Forward and then pressing A: Forward tilt or F-tilt
- Holding Upward and then pressing A: Up tilt or U-tilt
- Holding Downwards and then pressing A: Down tilt or D-tilt
- SMASH ATTACKS: Holding down a direction and A at the same time
- Holding down UP and A at the same time: Up Smash
- Holding down FORWARD and A at the same time: Forward Smash
- Holding down DOWN and A at the same time: Down smash
- Holding down a direction and holding A at the same time: Charging a Smash attack
- SPECIALS: Any B move, all of these can be preformed in both the ground and the air
- Neutral B: Easiest Edgeguarding move that Roy has, use this near the edge while your opponent is recovering
- Up B: Saving move and Kill move for Roy
- Side B: Great combo move and kills downwards momentum while falling
- Down B
- DEFENSIVE OPTIONS
- R: Shield
- R + Forward/ Backwards: Roll forwards or backwards
- R + Down: Spot Dodge (basically a roll in place, beats grabs)
- R + A (after your opponent has landed an attack on your shield): Shield Grab
- GRABS AND THROWS
- R + A: Grab
- A (while you are grabbing the opponent): Pummel
- Pressing FORWARD (while you are grabbing the opponent): Forward throw
- Pressing UP (while you are grabbing the opponent): Up throw
- Pressing DOWN (while you are grabbing the opponent): Down throw
- Pressing BACKWARDS (while you are grabbing the opponent): Back throw
- LEDGE OPTIONS: Options that you use to recover when you're holding onto the edge, these up so you're not predictable
- While on the ledge, press up or forwards: Get-up (just gets back onto stage right away)
- While on the ledge, press A: Get-up Attack (Make sure to counter this by holding down shield, and then grabbing when they get up)
- While on the ledge, press JUMP: Jumps onto stage
- While on the ledge, press R: Rolls onto stage
- AERIAL MOVEMENT
- X: Jump
- Holding down X for as long as possible: Full jump
- Lightly tapping X: Short Hop
- Holding DOWN at the apex of your jump: Fast Fall (Usually used in conjunction with Short hops)
- Holding a direction while you're flying in the air to prevent yourself from being combo'd or killed: Direction Influence or DI
- R (while in the air): Shield Dodge
- AERIAL ATTACKS (all of these are "A moves" can only be preformed while you are in the air)
- Jump and then A: Neutral Air or Nair
- Jump and then pressing FORWARD + A: Forward Air or Fair
- JUmp and then pressing BACKWARDS + A: Backwards Air or Bair (Backwards from the direction you were initially facing)
- Jump and then pressing DOWNWARDS + A: Down Air or Dair
- Jump and then pressing UPWARDS + A: Up Air or Uair

- ROY KILL MOVES:
- Neutral B (while edge guarding)
- Forward Smash (Kills RIDICULOUSLY early)
- Forward Tilt (less lag than Forward smash, but kills later. So use this move at like 120%+)
- Up B (After someone lands an attack on your shield, drop your shield really quickly and press UP for a really quick kill)
- Up tilt (Most kill potential lies towards the hilt of Roy's blade. Try to kill with this move when people are close. Kills early)
- Up throw: Kills pretty late (140%+)
- Forward Air or Back air: Late kill move but works really well later on
- Down Air: Super flashy kill move that I don't suggest you try until later LOL
- *Most of Roy's moves kill pretty early, but these are just his best kill moves*
