  1. >Jump 35: Forgotten Realms
  2. >Nine of Pentacles: The wise use of resources and foresight. The fulfillment that comes with accomplishment, and the turning of attention to higher things.
  3. >Age: 20
  4. >Location: The Abyss (Drawback)
  5. So begins the tradition of Crux being sent to Hell as often as possible.
  6. >Identity: Drop-In
  7. >Race: Ulitharid (900)
  8. This has been vampire chain, but it's time to up the ante - let's eat brains, so let's be a mind flayer. And because eating brains is not enough, let's learn from eating brains. And because being a mind flayer on its own was simply not enough, we're going to be what is considered illithid nobility.
  9. Why, you ask?
  10. Well, in addition to their mind blast rendering anyone in its area of effect feebleminded if they fail the save, Ulitharids also have the following spell-like powers which they can employ, one at a time, once per round, as a 10th-level wizard: astral projection, charm person, charm monster, ESP, eyebite, forget, legend lore, levitate, plane shift, suggestion, telekinesis, and true seeing. All saving throws vs. these powers are rolled with -4 penalties.
  11. Also I have six tentacles instead of four and if I grab anyone with them I can eat their brains. While still doing other things. Multitasking!
  12. Also their statline is Str 18, Dex 16, Con 20, Int 21, Wis 19, Cha 21. Points well spent.
  13. And I have so many things that will allow me to walk about in sunlight that I am pretty certain it isn't a weakness I truly have to worry about, though I will of course fake it until someone tries to exploit it.
  14. >Class: Erudite 1 (free) (changed)
  15. So many options. I'm just going to just take first level of Erudite and build it up to see where I go from there. No need to start out too greedy after all. Yes, I took Convert Spell To Power.
  16. >Wise Arse (Free, drop-in)
  17. Sure, I'll kick my wisdom up a bit higher.
  18. >Peeked At The Character Sheet (150, drop-in)
  19. If I'm going to be snacking on brains, I should make sure I don't snack on innocents. I may be a monster, but I'm not a bastard.
  20. >Experience Like A River (300, drop-in)
  21. >Master Craftsman (300)
  22. Well, I have been tinkering with magitech. Something guaranteed to ensure anything I make is masterwork is a definite plus.
  23. >Magical Craftsman (600)
  24. >The Book of Prestigious Possibilities (150, drop-in) (new)
  25. Early entry tricks are useful. Illithid Savant is a must. Not sure that there's anything else to worry about, honestly... and this'll be useful in the next two jumps, too.
  26. >Drawbacks
  27. >Start In The Abyss (+300)
  28. >Elder Evil: The Hulks of Zaretha (+200)
  29. >Elder Evil: The Worm That Walks (+400)
  30. >Elder Evil: Zargon (+800)
  31.
  32. In the end ... I'm not going to be running around on the surface raising hell. I'm not going to lower myself to being any campaign's BBEG. I'm going to be the man in the shadows that the BBEGs are afraid of. And when I'm not spending time on being known as the monster that preys on monsters (which incidentally fits the rest of my chain spectacularly well), I'm going to be busy running around, ripping Illithid society to shreds, eating brains to track down more of them, and consuming Elder Brains once I'm able to do that. Ten years of killing Illithid everywhere.
  33.
  34. Oh yes, there will be blood. Oceans of blood.
