She couldn’t recognize him now or perhaps she had changed too much. The crimson blade of her spear retracted and the sound of his girlfriend’s body hitting the ground followed right after. <br></p><p>“What...what did you do?” Confusion and heartbreak struggled to take control of Mace Towani’s expression as he was forced to watch his sister take the light from his eyes. Cindel could remember a time when she had been that light herself, long before he had taken off and left her on Endor. That little girl was far gone.<br></p><p>She didn’t enjoy his pain but instead found a sense of relief with it, like she could finally let go of her own hearache and resentment she had been harboring towards him for so long. “What I had to,” she replied with an eerie tone of ease. “Like always.” Behind her, the reinforcement troopers finally joined them and with them an ending to this chapter of her their story. Or so, she believed. <br></p><p>She straightened the position of her spear and stood tall as shots fired from behind her to bring down the rest of his crew. When Mace remained the only one standing she brought her hand up and all trooper action paused. “Know what I felt, Mace. But know I no longer feel that anymore. It’s your burden now...to live and die with. Alone.” <br></p><p>She turned and immediately the troopers made space for her to pass as she headed towards the ship. Line by line the troopers followed from the back to front as Mace called out her name. His tone was raw and full of anger now, ripping at his throat. But still she did not turn as she boarded.
