the unit with taming needs to kill monsters that can be tamed, but the chance to tame is low

a 5 star ranger will do fine for a monster tamer with countershot III and taming.

shooter is even better but shooter proof is very difficult to acquire so i recommend ranger.

what you can do, if use all those rangers from summon with lousy skills, raise them to level 25 and combine them to get as many stars as possible

if you run out of those silver summon or gold summon rangers with bad skills, then it is the time to learn countershot III and taming skill in place of those lousy skills
