PERSONALITY :
Hyun comes off as a cold and quiet person, often smiling silently while watching everyone else have fun on things like variety shows. She tends not to drift toward or relate to any other members, more likely than not found alone reading a book. Silence is often what she surrounds herself with, sometimes not speaking for multiple hours at a time unless someone speaks to her. She is a very knowledge person, able to offer advice or help with lots of things that she's learned about over the years. However, she doesn't know much about anything that isn't in the books. She often gets confused by slang or fan terms people use around her, smiling awkwardly until someone explains it.

There are moments when she's very outgoing and sociable, mostly with her fans. She likes to smile and play around with them, knowing she owes almost everything she is and has to them. She has very mother-like qualities, checking on all the members periodically, cooking for them so they don't eat too much bad food, and even cleaning up for them without complaining. She is often described as ice or snow, being seen as very cold and indifferent about everything. Contrary to popular belief, she is a large worrier. She jumps to the worst conclusions instead of the best, afraid to be crushed if she's too optimistic. BACKGROUND :
Hyun was born into a family of a Korean father and French-Korean mother, the first and only child. They moved to Korea when she was 3, causing her to not remember much about her time in France. Her parents we're very strict about education, only second to their daughter's health. She studied hard,  becoming the best in her class which grew to the best in her school over time. Despite academics seemingly to take all her time, she always found time for music. She would make a song about the work she was doing or to help her remember formulas for math. French was the language she sung in the most, finding it beautiful the way the words flowed from her lips. She kept her fascination with music to herself up until she was scouted by Pledis when singing while walking home from the store. Surprisingly, her parents allowed her to become a trainee as long as she kept up her school work. Due to disagreements and constantly having her debut pushed back, she left Pledis and went to dove a year before her debut.
