Waves

Jodah spread his arms and stepped off the edge of the scaffolding, plummeting to the ground. He was hidden briefly from the possessed spellcaster by the rubble of the buildings and now coiled the winds beneath him to ease his fall. As he touched the ground, he pulled out a spell that Jaya had used on the hallowed ground of the Battle of Kjeld against Lothar’s patrol.

This time, Jodah put a professional mage’s amount of mana behind the incantation.

Jodah placed both hands on the ground and unleashed the spell. Three huge waves, each as tall as the archmage himself, rolled forward across the ground, gaining amplitude with every block they covered. The remaining buildings in its path shattered and fell in on themselves as the waves of soil churned toward the mushroom-shaped barrack of the skyknights.

Jaya didn't expect the assault and was caught by surprise.

The first seismic wave lifted her and the tower, and she shouted in protest as her perch rocked beneath her. The second wave snapped the base of the tower itself, and its huge, mushroom-shaped peak, complete with giant spellcaster, toppled to the rubble below just as the third wave struck, causing more of the surrounding buildings to fall in on themselves and on the surprised task mage.
