- Slade Arkwright hears Teir's words.
- His eyebrow twitches. The man's aura fluctuates momentarily on his spear before he shifts his gaze back to the rest. The man makes a mental note.
- "Here's what you're going to do. Like we said before, extreme training. So." The man leaves the area in a flash, moving at full speed. He returns a few moments later while lifting a massive rock. He sets it down on the western side of the arena, and the tiles beneath them quake as a result. Afterward?
- He swings his spear three times, slicing it up into five pieces.
- "Find a rock. Start squatting. Except the Beastkin. Use the bigger rock."
- And they're extremely heavy, the Cadets would find. The Beastkin specifically is given a bigger rock, since he's a Beastkin, and thus Slade presumes he'll be able to handle more weight.
- ---------
- Rhys Nix paused as he pointed at the bigger rock, he knows it was for a beastkin, but he figured he was going to ask anyways, but then he paused, reaching over he took out two of the weights he kept with him when he did the endurance training. Since they said this was the work of him doing extreme training, nothing felt more extreme than attaching extra weight to himself and picking up one of the larger boulders
- He took a deep breath as he shifted the rock in pace a bit before he lifted it up. He was already starting to feel the burn--no that wasn't it, it was the weight of the rock, then the weights around his ankles and wrist all combining together to cause the cadet to buckle down. He released a pained grunt as he released a breath and slowly attempted to lift himself and the rock up, there was a lot straining on him, but he could feel his muscles screaming at him and creaking. He grinned a bit as he released a small breath slowly picking himself as he performed the squat, one squat that is, but that wasn't enough for him as he slowly attempted to lower himself again, each time the draining effects of the weights kicked in, sapping a bit of his mana and stamina as he did so.
- The fact Rhys was making this harder for himself was admittingly, his own short comings, but he needed to push himself, that’s what this was about right?
- ---------
- Slade Arkwright stows his spear away. He paces back and forth.
- "You should have felt it. Something, other than your blood, moving. Especially for the human cadets. It should come easier to you. So we know what Aura is, at its essence. The energy of your Will. So, other than losing that conviction, for whatever reason, what do you think would also be a weakness of Aura?"
- The question is posed.
- "Attacks on your mind and soul, are more difficult to defend against. Aura isn't just physically being imposing. Yes, you can do things like having your aura explode and cratering a mountain, but your spirit needs to be just as firm as your body. Meditation helps on that front.
- Think about what you were told, and the feeling of your Mana pathways as you did those squats. If you don't remember the feeling? Guess what you have to do?" He doesn't spell it out for them. They're human.
- They should be smart enough to know the answer.
- "Congratulations on your first steps in your path."

- Rhys Nix really wanted to do a task, but there wasn't anyone else near him to do it with. So instead he took his axe out, raising it up high and slashed down. This was the only technique he had under his belt, but he felt it was all he needed as an axe's specialty was chopping down, right? At the very least that's what he thought as he carefully shifted his stance and released the downward slash once again.
- Rhys Nix paused briefly in his training before he centered himself, he focused his gaze as he raised his weapon up. He carefully adjusted his stance before slashing downwards once again. He corrected himself as he attempted another downward slash again. He was behind a lot, but he just needed to continue this training regiment until he got used to it, or until his arms and hands gave out. Even if this was all he could do, he was going to continue to do so until he mastered it. That's what his father would want him to do, right?
- Rhys Nix carefully found himself correcting his stance again, he had gotten out of place and tilted a bit, his last slash was a bit off centered, but that was fine, he learned through that he could adjust how he performed the technique by changing his hold on the axe handle. He could extend his reach by moving his hands down the pole and extending his arms, or shorten it, regardless he had better control over his axe by shifting his direction, of course he still just had the downward slash, but that's all he needed, for now.
- Rhys Nix felt it, his hands were starting to hurt, even if it's only slightly, but he could feel it, but he did not have that liberty to stop. He could not get rid of that feeling, maybe it was hopelessness, or maybe it was something else, disappointment maybe. He talked a big game to his father and Ren, but it was all crashing down around him when he realized that, he made a mistake, a blunter, something he could not fix since he hit the deadline. He couldn't be a knight, but an adventurer, and while that meant his future was still going to be 'fruitful' he...did not want that. To ease his worries he tried to bury them by constantly slashing down, until his muscles were screaming in pain, until there wasn't anything left he could do, until he could not properly hold an axe in his hands. He needed to keep going, because that was all he could do.
- Rhys Nix continued to swing, maybe it was with all his might, or maybe not but he just did not let up, he did not want to as he shifted in his step and just kept making downward swings. His breath was quick, but he just could not relent, at least not yet.
- Rhys Nix reached his hand up, slowly squeezing his axe again he could feel his hands shaking at this as he raised it up trying to strike another pose before lowering his weapon. He had to at least rest for a bit. "I need someone with prana to heal." he muttered to himself, but for now he needed to rest himself. He had already pushed himself enough.
- Rhys Nix reached over, squeezing his axe's handle again for his flinched, he surely did push himself too hard. With a small breath he carefully hefted the weapon up before slowly returning tohis bead, if anything some rest would do him nicely, hopefully in time for the next set of classes. But that feeling, it was a lot like when he was working out doing squats and learning about aura, right? Maybe he could cotinue that. At least he made progress there.
