- Preheat oven 450F
- 3 white onions (need yellow, using white this time)
- Slice off ends of onions, then peel. Slice onions into 1/2" rings. Separate into individual rings.
- Batter in one bowl:
- 2/3 cup unsweetened almond milk
- 1/2 cup whole wheat flour
- Mix well until smooth!
- Dry mix in another bowl:
- 1 cup panko bread crumbs
- 1 tsp paprika
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1/2 tsp turmeric
- Mix well!
- 1) One at a time, using a fork dip rings into batter, submerging completely. Allow them to drain off for a moment so not dripping wet.
- 2) Move batter coated ring to dry mix and coat evenly.
- 3) Place on baking sheet with silicone baking mat, spacing evenly.
- I ended up making 2* more batter and 1* more bread crumbs for 3 onions, 2 baking sheets worth.
- Once all rings are done, bake for 30 minutes at 450F!
