  1. Sugarboy exclaims, "Ah, Saba!"
  2.
  3. Sugarboy exclaims, "Excellent!"
  4.
  5. Saba says, "Heya Sugarboy."
  6.
  7. Sugarboy says, "Come stand with me, in the center of the square."
  8.
  9. Kött Mori asks, "Ooh! Now what's this?"
  10.
  11. It was quite an odd request, and all of a sudden too. The two would stand opposite in the square, just over the sapling Tototl had planted. So many good times in this square, the Chieftain wondered what was going on in Saba's head in this moment- maybe he thought it'd be another dance lesson, though with much less drinking involved.
  12.
  13. Sugarboy would be quiet, removing his shades and tucking them into his breastplate, letting everyone see those Ocean blues, and proud smile on his face. Reaching behind him, he would pull out his trusty little knife, Saba would recognize from the blood ritual they had just done at Ohtli's tower.
  14.
  15. "A Chieftain is known for the great strength that they wield- though strength alone is not what makes a good Chieftain. I have seen other's far stronger than me take the throne, and do little good for Gehenna because of it.
  16.
  17. A Chieftain must not only be strong of body, but in spirit as well. They can not just be a warrior, but a leader. A duty to look our for their people, our lands, and the spirits we seek to live in harmony with. A good Chieftain is one who brings growth and prosperity to the tribes.
  18.
  19. Now, while I may not be as battlehardened as Tototl, I'd like to believe I have done the latter quite well, welcoming others to join the tribes, bringing peace to our borders with the Alliances we've forged, and bringing growth through education and self sacrifice at the cost of my own resources through alchemy and medicine." His eyes would be fixed on the man before him, a fellow tribemate, a close friend, and his successor.
  20.
  21. "Saba, I've spoken with you, watched as you develop into the proud and- while some may question it- wisdom that you have gained over the years." He couldn't help but chuckle as he went as farto call him wise, but the old man had seen the promise that rattled around in Saba's head.
  22.
  23. "You have displayed all of the attributes of what I believe makes a good Chieftain- and it is because of that I offer to you, Ezmara's throne and the rights to lead it, do you accept?"
  24. (Sugarboy)
  25.
  26. Just stand in the middle of the square and face Sugarboy? Saba tilted his head to the side as he made his way over towards the center of the square, resting his arms behind his head as he made his rather short journey. An eyebrow would be raised as the chieftain removed his sunglasses.
  27.
  28. Whatever this was about, it was more than likely going to be rather serious, and sadly not another dance lesson. Curious green hues dart towards the dagger the chieftain had brought out, perhaps they would be giving blood to something? Though his gaze would focus back on Sugarboy as the Chieftain began to speak.
  29.
  30. Whatever he thought this was going to be about, he was wrong, so very wrong.
  31.
  32. Saba slowly nods his head as he listens to his Chieftain speak. These were all things that they had discussed during their little outing to the coral reef not to far off the shore of Gehenna. "Strength is important, but it's not all that's needed. You taught me that Sugarboy. Err, not that I'm saying you aren't strong, cause you are!" A small chuckle escaped from his lips as he returned to his silence.
  33.
  34. Perhaps this was just another lesson after all?
  35.
  36. Though, Sugarboy didn't stop there, he kept going, now referring to Saba specifically, and the wisdom he had gained over the years. Thanks to Ohtli, Sugarboy, and Tototl. Without them he still would be the lazy kid who refused to leave his bench. Of course he still enjoyed sitting on his bench, but that's not all he was about.
  37.
  38. As the final words left Sugarboy's lips, pride began to well up within the Gehennan. His mentor had said he was going to do this eventually, but he truly didn't think now would be the time. Was he ready for this? Maybe, only time would truly tell.
  39.
  40. "Of course I accept!" He'd say as he flashed Sugarboy a huge smile. "I'll make you proud, I promise." Spoke the new Chieftain of Ezmara.
  41. (Saba)
  42.
  43. With Saba's answer given, Sugarboy would be quite literally beaming as his smile grew ten fold, the square illuminated with the very light of the lifestream as he nodded, taking his surgical knife and slicing his right hand.
  44.
  45. "Then, with the Spirits, and everyone present as my witness, I, Sugarboy, declare you as Saba, Chieftain of Ezmara, first of his name." Okay, maybe the first of his name thing was really relevant in Gehenna, they didn't name people after others very often, but atleast it sounded cool as hell.
  46.
  47. With that he would offer his bloodied hand to his successor. Blood of the old, and blood of the new, over a sapling that would bring great fortune to their people once it was grown. The idea tickled him to no end.
  48. (Sugarboy)
  49.
  50. Well if Sugarboy believes in him, clearly he's got this. Right? Maybe, maybe not, either way he was gonna give this his best shot.
  51.
  52. Saba's head tilted to the side, as he watched Sugarboy bathe himself in the light of the lifestream. That was new. With the entire square illuminated by his mentor, he watched as the former Chieftain brought his surgical knife to his right hand.
  53.
  54. Without hesitation Saba mimicked his friend's action, as he formed a small dagger from the golden energy that flowed through his mana circuits. Then with one swift motion, his palm was cut open. "I will make sure the tribe of Ezmara prospers. I swear that to all of you, and the spirits."
  55.
  56. Once finished speaking he'd extend his bloodied hand to his friend, mentor, and father figure, giving him the manliest handshake he could manage. If there wasn't a bunch of people around right now he would totally be crying tears of joy!
  57.
  58. Well... He still might.
  59. (Saba)
  60.
  61. Kött found himself fortunate to bear witness to such an event! An actual milestone, before him unlaid living, breathing history, as he watched Saba extend the bloodied handshake with his crimson blood. There was a sense of pride and overflowing joy coming from the Mori, knowing that even in his absence, things still flowed as they should.
  62.
  63. Before him he now saw two Chieftains. An overwhelming amount of joy would build in his chest and release itself in a booming barrage of applause and Gehennan pride.
  64.
  65. Kött happily clapped his hands at the hearing of Ezmara's new Chieftain, trying to not disturb the moment, but still happily pushing forth with patriotic fervor.
  66.
  67. "Well damn! That's news, ain't it?!"
  68.
  69. Kött would overlook in joy and awe as he would watch the crowning moment in Gehennan culture.
  70.
  71.
  72. ..To think that so long ago, the two had met on some night, and had happily shared a strip of jerky with one another..
  73.
  74. (Kött Mori)
  75.
  76.
  77. Declan says, "Good shit."
  78.
  79. Iral Woodnshire asks, "O-oi?"
  80. Iral Woodnshire whispers something.
  81.
  82. Arkgvunde Vel'heim whispers something.
  83.
  84.
  85. Iral Woodnshire exclaims, "AH! REALLY?!"
  86. Iral closed her mouth instantly after yellling, bringing both of her hands in front of it.
  87. (Iral Woodnshire)
  88.
  89.
  90. Iral Woodnshire says, "..."
  91. Iral Woodnshire whispers something.
  92.
  93. It was certainly a handshake that would go down in history, and the firmest the old man had ever given- the occasion called for it. As both hands clenched together, the blood of an old Chieftain would mix with the new, that same blood now seeping with lively energy dripping onto the sapling as a the new leader of Ezmara was named.
  94.
  95. From there, Sugarboy would pull Saba in, wrapping his other hand around him as the healing aura closed their wounds, the energy flowing into Saba and filling him with all the pride, joy, and confidence that he held for the man before him.
  96.
  97. "I know ya will, son. I see nothing but a bright future for Gehenna with you at the helm." Saba was doing his best not to cry, but the old man didn't have his shades to hide his watery eyes, tears soon streaking down his face as he held Saba in a tight embrace.
  98. (Sugarboy)
  99.
  100. The blood of the new chieftain mixed with the blood of the old, as he continued to do his best to not cry! Which, could only last so long, but hey! He's trying. Oh, and by that I mean, as soon as Sugarboy brought him in for a hug, the waterworks soon followed.
  101.
  102. With tears of joy streaming down his face, the embrace of Sugarboy, and the shroud of lifestream that surrounded him, filled him with pride, joy, and confidence, all while the wound on his hand quickly healed.
  103.
  104. Spirits, he wouldn't, no... He couldn't mess this up.
  105.
  106. He'd hold the embrace for as long as he could, until eventually he pulls himself away from it. With a giant grin on his face, Saba would do his best to halt the flow of the tears.
  107.
  108. "Thank you Sugarboy, I truly." He pauses for a moment as he wipes some of the tears from his face. "Truly, thank you. I can't find any other words to express it."
  109. (Saba)
  110.
  111. They'd pull away from the hug, the old man's smile pressed into a thin line as he tried to keep his composure. Oh god he didn't expect it to be this emotional. He could bring himself to any words, simply patting the new Chieftain on the shoulder, and making his way into the temple before emerging with an armful of vodka and ale-
  112.
  113. He still couldn't talk, but he'd pass out a bottle to everyone before knocking back Two shots of vodka and raising the bottle to the sky. "To Chieftain Saba! And a prosperous future for Gehenna! May the spirits guide and protect you during your rule!"
  114. (Sugarboy)
  115.
  116. Iral beated her chest quickly, throwing the new chieftain a warm smile.
  117. (Iral Woodnshire)
  118.
  119. Kött beat his chest as well. He wished he had some jerky right now ..
  120. (Kött Mori)
  121.
  122. Arkgvunde has no articulable limbs to beat their chest with. ...if the thing even has a chest.
  123. (Arkgvunde Vel'heim)
  124.
  125. Oh good, it wasn't just him who was having difficulty speaking. Saba barely managed to get out a thank you. Green hues watched as Sugarboy patted him on the shoulder before departing towards the temple. As his gaze rested on the giant building.
  126.
  127. The throne inside of it was his now, let's hope he can properly fill that seat.
  128.
  129. As Sugarboy returned with the Vodka, and ale, a small chuckle escaped from his lips. Spirits it'd been a long time since he last drank, and now seemed like a good occasion for it! Plus, it's Sugarboy feeding his raging alcoholism this time, instead of Kött!
  130.
  131. Without wasting anymore time, he'd grab ahold of the bottle, and would quickly pour himself two shots, both of which were down almost as soon as they were poured.
  132.
  133. With that he'd beat his hand against his chest as he raised his bottle to the air.
  134.
  135. There was nothing he could say here, he was speechless.
  136. (Saba)
  137.
  138. Sugarboy whispers: And Saba, if you ever need anything, advice, help or otherwise, my door is open.
  139.
  140. Sugarboy whispers: Always
  141.
  142. Saba whispers: Understood, and... Thank you.
  143.
  144. Saba whispers: Really, this means the world to me.
  145.
  146.
  147. Kött Mori exclaims, "And this one's out for our new Chieftain! Let's hear it!"
  148.
  149. Kött Mori exclaims, "Saba!"
  150.
  151. Sugarboy exclaims, "Saba, Saba, Saba!"
  152.
  153. Kött Mori exclaims, "Saba~!!!!!"
  154.
  155. Saba exclaims, "Bahahaha! Thank you, thank you!"
  156.
  157. Iral Woodnshire says, "Uh, Saba... Congratulations."
