  1. > This is my second new kharacter koncept: Viko, adopted son of Kano, an Osh-Tekk halfling with the power to generate and control magnetic fields. Because Ruby can't be alone in this fight.
  2.
  3. #LORE
  4.
  5. > **Orphaned at a young age after most of their clan was erased by Shao Kahn, Viko, an adept ferromancer, lived a life on the run before stumbling upon a Black Dragon hideout--Kano's front yard. Showing his talents and willingness to learn how to commit crime for money, Kano took Viko in and trained him to be the best in the clan, and effectively his heir. But one decision will cost him an arm and will make him an enemy

  7. #GAMEPLAY
  8.
  9. Viko's kind of zoning plays in a unique and novel way: he controls space not with projectiles but with magnetic fields that take a different, less tangible sort of area denial style that can be difficult to penetrate. With this base Viko can focus on his terrifyingly effective grab tree, long-range melee attacks and hard-hitting normals, while taking advantage of life-steal and metal armor passives to keep himself in the game even when behind.

  13. #UNIVERSAL MOVES
  14.
  15. * Tractor Pull:
  16.
  17. * Sheet Barrier: resists three projectiles before a fourth breaks it, but he can reforge this sheet into a Krushing melee command (amplifiable so he can crouch-dash)
  18.
  19. * Rushing Chord: the first of her four Chords in Guitar-Axe stance, this buffs her movement and attack speed while dealing non-damaging pushback when strummed close to an opponent
  20.
  21. * Cutting Chord: Ruby's second Chord energizes the blades on the guitar's body and grants meaty, high-damage mids and overheads with long startup and recovery frames
  22.
  23. * Drowning Chord: a debuff Chord, Ruby can strum this tune to put opponents in a "deafened" state that leaves them vulnerable to restands and nullify every projectile, but leaves Ruby open to attack when played for too long
  24.
  25. * Blasting Chord: this one's just a straight-up sonic attack that deals damage even from full-screen distance (costs meter) and can wall-bounce opponents when strummed close to the wall
  26.
  27. * Pulsed Pick-up: one pluck of a string lets Ruby fire off a weak, duckable yet ultra-fast projectile, one that can be shot in succession and rhythm or canceled for an option select
  28.
  29. * Gem Rush: thanks to Crystal Strike hardening, Ruby can pull of a string of quick kicks, including a b3 launcher a la Hwoarang that can be canceled into laser attacks to keep them airborne or finished for big damage and oki
  30.
  31. * Tricky-taka: the longest dial-a-combo in terms of raw number of hits, this flashy TKD trick auto-string is one of Ruby Kim's best combo enders, with TWO available Krush opportunities and mid-string cancels, but otherwise low overall damage

  35. #VARIATION A: Iron Works
  36.
  37. Rock Vixen carries Ruby's first unique stance, Guitar-Axe, and all the attacks that she can do with one of the more eccentric weapons in the game. Yes, her guitar has a massive blade running the perimeter of the body, and she can use that and her own music--a set of Chords attuned to destroy eardrums and send specific frequencies to break bone and muscle, buff her attacks and de-buff foes, or create enough separation to get free from rushdown or use bigger melee attacks. Besides the four Chords mentioned above, she has another four Chords that she can use to disable, disorient, or outright damage her opponents.
  38.
  39. #VARIATION B: Repulsing Force
  40.
  41. The energy lance stars in Ruby's second variation, a hybridized melee zoning style (denoted by a stance) that can cut through opponents at a little about past tip range. Her lance can shoot sustainable laser blasts or arc-cutting shots, impale opponents, and even allow her to pole-vault (though this has major vulnerabilities) for cross-up moves. It can also parry other attacks, especially other melee weapons, opening more options for extensive kombos. Her cancels and transitions rule this variation, with attacks that combine her pole-arm and kicks for unique mixups and seamless equip/return stance switching.
  42.
  43. #VARIATION C: Magnum
  44.
  45. Ruby's third variation is more focused on hand-to-hand combat, with multiple moves that can be buffed by activating Crystal Strike, which hardens her hands and feet for bigger chip damage on block and easy Krushing Blows that konfirm into kombos with the lance or the guitar-axe. Crystal Strike wears over time, however, so use it to its fullest with Gem Rush and Rocket Kick, then keep the pressure up with Gem Ball (that can be kicked or thrown hard at an opponent; can be caught by opponent on Perfect Block but sent back as a Krushing Blow) and command-grab mixups. She also gains Ruby Lenses that can be deployed to
  46.
  47. **+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++**
  48.
  49. **FATAL BLOW** - Solo Riff: after Ruby shanks the side of her opponent with the guitar ax, she pulls it out, plays a tune, and spins to slice her opponent upward (first slo-mo). She then kicks her opponent, spins, and shanks the other side (second slo-mo) before burying the guitar-ax on the opponent's spine (third slo-mo)
  50.
  51. **FATALITY**
  52.
  53. > Shred 'em A New One: Using her particle lance, Ruby slices her opponent while writing 죽음 (death) on their body, leaving a pattern in the air. She then kicks them in the midsection, sending body parts flying in chunks.
  54.
  55. > Song of Death: Ruby spears her lance through the ear of her foe and drives them to the ground. She then plugs the lance to her guitar and plays an intense set that makes the opponent seize, takes the lance and slices their body in half as the head explodes.
