24-03-17: Radiant Citadel Part 10

Kultesh has been looking for a better greataxe, and keeping an ear to the ground about the Trade Discal. Kultesh has heard that the three brother traders we met with before have disappeared.

Esnena has been visiting with her aunt, and researching the creepy doll. She's checked in at some temple with the doll, and confirmed that it's cursed. She's been having mild nightmares about the doll.

Cael has been learning how to focus his rage and hone it. He learned from Kultesh.

Five has been visiting with their family at the lab. Meeting all of their new siblings that they can, discussing with their parents their time in the field.

Luther has been visiting the gardens, helping research the doll. He donated 400 of his gold.

Ohr has been trying to track down Malrius; he found his house, and found a letter that had been left there.

One day we're all at lunch together when Kultesh receives a letter. Kultesh needs to return home to Yeonido, and invited everyone to go with him.

The next day we head out on the gemstone ships to Yeonido. We make it to the walled city gates. There's fog drifting out from the city and over the gates. Suddenly gargoyles on the roofs come to life and start attacking the people.

-Cael dashes and charges into the fray.
-Luther dashes in.
-Five casts firebolt at gargoyle, hits for -5 damage.
-Esnena fires at gargoyle, misses, hits for -4 damage
-Kultesh casts false life on himself, giving himself +8 temporary health.
-Gargoyle picks up a woman and flies away with her.
-Ohr misty steps closer to a gargoyle.
-Gargoyle start chasing people.
-Gargoyle flies towards Esnena; Cael's attack of opportunity misses. Attacks Esnena, misses, misses.
-Gargoyle attacks Ohr and hits for -5 damage, misses.
-Cael tries to yank the woman from the gargoyle's grasp, gets a grip on her but can't wrest her from the gargoyle's grasp. Drops a bear totem, granting everyone +9 temporary health.
-Luther casts spiritual weapon at gargoyle, misses. Casts command on gargoyle carrying woman, ordering it to "drop," spell fails. Cael, however, drops his grasp on the woman.
-Five casts radiant burst, attacks gargoyle, hits for -9 damage.
-Esnena attacks gargoyle, misses, misses. Burns a ki point for flurry of blows, misses, hits for -4 damage.
-Kultesh tells the civilians to run. Rages and attacks gargoyle recklessly, hits for -23 damage. Misses second attack.
-Gargoyle flies up thirty feet with dangling woman.
-Ohr dashes and flies towards the gargoyle holding the woman; gargoyle's attack of opportunity misses.
-Gargoyle attacks Kultesh, misses, hits for -4 damage.
-Gargoyle attacks Esnena, Five intercepts, hits for -3 damage. Attacks Five, misses.
-Gargoyle attacks Ohr, misses.
-Cael attacks gargoyle, misses.
-Luther attacks gargoyle with spiritual weapon, hits for -7 damage. Attacks gargoyle, hits for -4 damage.
-Five casts searing smite, attacks gargoyle, misses.
-Esnena attacks gargoyle, misses, hits for -4 and -9 damage.
-Kultesh attacks gargoyle, hits for -9 and -16 damage, killing it.
-Gargoyle attacks Ohr, misses, hits for -4 damage. Drops the woman, Cael catches she and Ohr and Ohr dives for her.
-Ohr attacks gargoyle, misses, hits for -10 damage.
-Gargoyle attacks Luther, hits for -5 damage. Attacks Esnena, Five intercepts, hits for -2 damage.
-Gargoyle attacks Kultesh, misses, misses.
-Cael attacks gargoyle, hits for -8 and -11 damage.

-Five attacks gargoyle, hits for -12 damage, killing it.
-Esnena attacks gargoyle, hits for -8 and -8 damage. Burns a ki point for flurry of blows, hits for -7 and -6 damage, killing it.
-Kultesh attacks gargoyle, hits for -7 damage, misses.
-Gargoyle attacks Ohr, misses, misses.
-Ohr attacks gargoyle, hits for -14 and -11 damage, knocking it to the ground.
-Cael charges the gargoyle, trying to pin it to the ground, succeeds and kills it.

The fog over the city starts to dissipate; the people around start looking around in confusion, seemingly having no memory of what just happened. A magistrate approaches us, asking if we just experienced something strange. We confirm that gargoyles just attacked but no one seems to remember it. She sees Kultesh and drops to her knee, greeting him as 'my lord.'
