Visual Novel, VN - A text based game aided by sprites, CG art, sound effects, and music. The story may be influenced by player choice, with multiple routes or endings to the story. Some titles feature gameplay elements, or minigames.
Kinetic Novel - A type of visual novel that does not any player interaction.
Eroge - A term short for 'Erotic Game' used to describe a game with any amount of erotic content.
Fandisk, FD - An expansion to a series as 'fanservice' to the players who want to see more of a game's characters and setting. Fandisks often feature a higher ratio of ero content.
Kamige - Lit. “God Game” or games with the highest reputation and popularity in the community.
Nakige - Lit. "Crying Game" or a game with the purpose of making the player cry.
Utsuge - Lit. "Depressing Game" or a game with the purpose of making the player feel sad or depressed.
Nukige - A game that focuses on erotic content for pornographic purposes.
