53. There's a mystery afoot in Gotham City, and Batman must go toe-to-toe with a mysterious vigilante, who goes by the name of Red Hood. Subsequently, old wounds reopen and old, once buried memories come into the light.
 54. Batman faces his ultimate challenge as the mysterious Red Hood takes Gotham City by firestorm. One part vigilante, one part criminal kingpin, Red Hood begins cleaning up Gotham with the efficiency of Batman, but without following the same ethical code. Killing is an option. And when the Joker falls in the balance between the two, hard truths are revealed and old wounds are reopened.
 55. Batman: Under The Red Hood is one of the better DCU animated films.

The film is dark, violent, emotional, and gripping...It has the same feel as a live-action film and works on so many different levels...

There is so much fluidity to the animation that you want to watch it in slow motion just to see how it's done The voice acting (as is often in the DCU films) is perfect. Bruce Greenwood reminds the viewer of Kevin Conroy's voice that you almost think it's the same person...John Dimaggio takes The Joker in a different direction than Mark Hamill and at first seems the wrong way to go about the character but as time continues it is obvious that, at least for this film, it was the right choice...

Under The Red Hood is a great movie that is a great companion piece to "The Dark Knight" as well as "Batman The Animated Series" For fans of dark, mature Batman
 56. Just got done watching this and was seriously blown away by the beautiful artwork and storyline. I wasn't really expecting all that much and was pleasantly surprised by how well the entire production came together. At first, I was a little peeved over the fact that Mark Hamill and Kevin Conroy weren't on board to do their iconic voiceovers; but once I sat back and got into this movie, my petulant pout turned into a goofy smile. John Dimaggio (Joker) and Bruce Greenwood (Batman) were pretty good, even though I could sometimes faintly hear "Bender" slip through Dimaggio's dialogue, but only faintly. Still, it was at times distracting. Since I am such a HUGE Batman fan, I was also very, VERY pleased that this movie didn't shy away from the violence and grit that's always been associated with TRUE Batman stories. Even though this was "animated", the gunshots(which thundered menacingly loud on my Bose speakers), the explosions, the gadget usage, the screeching of tires, all sounded and felt very REAL and CINEMATIC. Everything was so well done, especially the animation.

And you just gotta love the stark contrast of Bruce Timm's world of Gotham City, with its monochromatic glint vs. its colorful costumed warriors and criminal underlords. (i.e., Nightwing's strikingly vivid blue and black and Red Hood's, well, red hood).

And the dialogue between Jason Todd (Red Hood) and Batman near the end gave me goosebumps and nearly brought me to tears. Excellent, excellent writing. Overall, this was thoroughly entertaining and to me, MUCH MORE satisfying than TDK! That's right. I said it. Booyah.
