  1. In a galaxy far, far away, a carrot flew through space. Correction, an Intensive Carrot. While reviving fellow plants in a giant battle, she had been tossed away by an All-Star Zombie, so hard that she flew into space. A few feet away, a stray imp drifted by, laughing hysterically. Intensive Carrot glared at him, willing him to shut up. Sadly, he did not, and there was nothing else either of them could do about their predicament.
  2.
  3. Suddenly, two beams of light flew out of the small dot of Earth and struck them. They writhed in pain as their bodies convulsed and changed, growing in size and growing new parts. Intensive Carrot grew longer and thicker, sprouting a pair of fresh leaves. The imp's head grew to an abnormal size, and his fingers seemed to elongate. As the light faded from their eyes, smaller beams flew away from their bodies and into space. Then, they noticed one another again. The imp launched himself at Intensive Carrot, but alas, he was still in space. All they could do was stare at each other as they slowly drifted apart.
  4. ----------------------------------
  5. As Intensive Carrot neared the dusty planet, she decided she needed a new name. Something flashy, but not too over the top. Carrot Girl? Revival Lady? Beta-Carrotina? That sounded nice. As she thought, the gravity of the planet took ahold of her and she hurtled towards the surface.
  6.
  7. As she fell, a single thought ran through her mind. Jetpacks. They would be really useful, particularly in this situation. Moments before she became carrot pulp in the planet surface, a pair of metal cubes flew out of a bunker and flew towards her. They patched into her back and unfolded into a jetpack. A set of wires patched into her peel. She willed the jetpack to pull up into a drift, and she glided slowly towards the bunker.
  8.
  9. As she neared, a trio opened the door and flew towards her. One seemed to look like a potato with a metal collar, and flanking him were two carrots, just like her.
  10.
  11. “Welcome to Rootpiter. You seem to have been genetically engineered and mutated to grow larger. I’m Starch-lord by the way”, the potato welcomed her. “These are Lieutenants Carrotron and Uproot.”
  12.
  13. “What’s all the tech for?” Beta asked.
  14.
  15. “Well, you see, a few days ago a beam of light struck our nearby star, and all the plants on the planet seemed to mutate a bit. I developed a bit of a knack for technology, and have been using it to develop weapons and gear to fight the zombies. This one here I call a ‘Force Field’. It’s the strongest thing ever”, Starch-lord explained.
  16.
  17. “Great! You guys can be my army. Are you willing to join me on a journey to stop the zombies, once and for all?”
  18.
  19. “That’s a bit ambitious, but sure! It’s not like we have much to do here anyway. Wait, are the pears done? They are? Great! We’re in!”
  20.
  21. “Wonderful! Now we just need a ship.”
  22. ----------------------------------
  23. As the imp neared the black hole, he decided to get his priorities straight. He needed a cool superhero name! One fit for a conqueror. Something big. Something huge. Something like Huge-Giganticus! Then he lost all train of thought as he was sucked into the black hole.
  24.
  25. As he hurtled through space, he realized that this was a wormhole, not a black hole. Bits of scrap metal flew by, and he was able to construct a throne and crown. As he attached his armrest, the wormhole spat him out into a small station.
  26.
  27. In front of him was a zombie with body parts extending from various portals. He held a key in his hand and examined Huge-Giganticus.
  28.
  29. “Let’s see what the daily leaks have drawn in. Ooh, a new hero? The zombies on Earth will be so excited!”
  30.
  31. “BOW BEFORE ME, YOUR SAVIOR AND LEADER, HUGE GIGANTICUS!”
  32.
  33. “Sorry sir, but you aren’t exactly the huge type. Or the Giganticus type, whatever that is.”
  34.
  35. “I WOULD DISPOSE OF YOU EASILY RIGHT NOW, BUT SADLY, YOU WILL HAVE TO SUFFICE AS TRANSPORTATION. WE WILL CONQUER THE GALAXY! WHERE TO?”
  36.
  37. “Lemme just time travel ahead a bit...oh wait, season rewards arrive in the mail today, I can’t risk losing them. Sorry.”
  38.
  39. “WELL? TAKE ME SOMEWHERE!”
  40.
  41. “I guess we could go to Disco,” and off they went.
  42. ----------------------------------
  43. Conveniently for our roots, a giant spaceship flew through the atmosphere and crashed not twenty feet away. Four plants emerged from the twisted metal.
  44.
  45. “Rings, give me a report on the engines.”
  46.
  47. “Captain Cucumber, I’d give them a 4/4!”
  48.
  49. “Do you know any other numbers? Besides four?”
  50.
  51. “Yessir! I know the number four!”
  52.
  53. Exhausted, Captain Cucumber noticed Beta-Carrotina and turned towards her.
  54.
  55. “I assume you want my ship. Well, as you can see, it’s about as useful as my Engineer Rings over here on counting. Some imp on a chair smashed into the left wing.”
  56.
  57. “We could repair that in minutes,” Starch-Lord piped up.
  58.
  59. “Really? Then the ship is yours to use!”
  60. ----------------------------------
  61. “OW! WHY DIDN’T YOU WARN ME OF GIANT SPACESHIPS?”
  62.
  63. “I told you, I can’t risk the rewards.”
  64.
  65. The duo neared Disco Town, a city full of vibrant flashing lights and pounding music that shook Huge-Giganticus in his throne. Two, wait, three zombies exited a building and came to welcome them.
  66.
  67. “Hi there! I’m Disconaut. Nice to meet. You,” The zombie with the shiny suit and keyboard piano greeted.
  68.
  69. “WHO DARES SPEAK SUCH CHOPPY SENTENCES IN MY PRESENCE?”
  70.
  71. “Sorry. Disconaut likes to-“ said one of the two he had mistaken for one.
  72.
  73. “Speak in sentences with-“ the other picked up.
  74.
  75. “Three or less words,” the first one finished.
  76.
  77. “We’re Binary Stars,” they said together.
  78.
  79. “WELL THEN, YOU THREE SEEM LIKE FINE LADS. WOULD YOU CARE TO JOIN US ON OUR CONQUEST OF THE GALAXY?”
  80.
  81. “Gladly. Where do we. Go off to. Next?” Disconaut stammered.
  82.
  83. “I’VE GOT MY EYE ON THIS TRADER POST. WE’LL FIND THE BEST FIGHTERS THERE, ALONG WITH NEW TECH TO WORK ON MY NEW IDEA. GATEKEEPER, LET’S GO!”
  84.
  85. As they were sucked into the portal, the Binary Stars yelled,” Team Binary blasting off again!”
  86. ----------------------------------
  87. Huge-Giganticus arrived on a meteor with his small army, including a Gargantuar with fancy armor and a staff, an Imp riding a robotic horse, a pirate with a magical staff, and many more.
  88.
  89. “THIS WILL BE METEOR Z. WE WILL SET UP BASE HERE AND I SHALL-STUPID SPACESHIP!”
  90.
  91. The Starship Pickle landed on Meteor Z, and an army of roots charged out. They engaged in full on combat with the zombies. Supernova Gargantuar sucked up multiple Blockbusters into his staff and shot them into space. Space Cowboy flew around trampling plants. Intergalactic Warlord waved his staff, and every zombie seemed to be stronger. Binary Stars doubled everything for the zombies, from laser beams to robot horses. The plants were losing.
  92.
  93. Starch-Lord threw down a device, and a patch of grass erupted on Meteor Z. The plants within it seemed impervious to damage.
  94.
  95. “WE ARE PROTECTED!” Starch-Lord yelled.
  96.
  97. Suddenly, Huge-Giganticus revealed his project. He fired a beam of light from his chair, and the force field disappeared, replaced by a dark patch. The plants in it seemed to weaken, as if lacking sunlight.
  98.
  99. As the fight continued, more patches of modified ground erupted, sometimes benefitting the side it was for, or harming the enemy. Some lasted a second, others lasted 10 minutes. It was obvious the plants were still on a losing side.
  100.
  101. Suddenly, Beta Carrotina shot her own beam, and it formed a small little jungle of pears. Pod Fighter jumped into it and began multiplying. With each new Pod Fighter, the others began to fire faster and faster, until there was a constant tidal wave of peas raining on the zombies.
  102.
  103. Huge-Giganticus has no choice. He used his crown, wired to his trusty Starship 22, and sent his ship crashing into Meteor Z. Plants and zombies alike held on as the meteor hurtled towards Earth. When it crashed, the impact was so harsh that it scattered fighters across the world. Now, the galactic plants, zombies, and heroes had joined the fight.
