- So, basically when I was in high school a lot of people made fun of me for my music taste and some people thought I was a redneck due to being from Virginia.
- So, my bestie Ravey asks me why I kept hanging out with people that would make fun of me and my answer was that I rather just hang out with anyone even if they were mean than be alone.
- Ravey kept trying to convince me that hanging out alone is better than being with people that treat you like dirt.
- Other times when I basically had hearts in my eyes when I saw people I had crushes with and Ravey always just rolled her eyes and told me that I got crushes on people really quickly and that I should try just being friends with a person first before going all in.
- I find it hilarious that Ravey was both the popular girl and the outcast at the same time, or at least she was to me. I thought she was super cool, but at the same time she never was a follower and did her own thing for better or for worse.
- She could have been head cheerleader, but she rather just hang out behind the bleachers and do that kind of stuff instead.
- Thinking back she was one of the only people that never liked my jokes that were taking jabs at myself.
- You know I always found it weird that even though most my friends were guys back then and I felt awkward when talking to girls, but yet I still somehow felt more comfortable talking to girls than guys.
- I know that doesn't make sense, but what I mean is that whenever a girl asked me a question I would always just be truthful and it had more emotion behind it than whenever I talked to a guy.
- I guess it helped that the only people that asked me about my personal life were girls, so it felt more connected in a way.
- Guy friends mostly only talked about hobbies and stuff like that and never anything really deep like what we were doing this weekend or inviting me to anything.
- Yea, I never got invited to anything back when I was in high school.
- So, it was mostly just me hanging out in my room with Ravey talking about crushes and other random stuff.
- You might think it is weird that we shared the bed, but it would feel really unnatural for us not to.
- Like, she tried her best to make me feel safe and to keep the nightmares away.
- When I got hickies at school she would laugh and tell me that she knew that all the girls would be after me, but then I had to tell her it was from a guy. Ravey had the biggest look of surprise in her face when I said that and she laughed really loudly afterwards while I just blushed.
- I did find it pretty cringe when all the guys kept hitting on my friend F and kept looking at her butt when she didn't want them to. She did tell me one time that I was one of the most respectable people and never crossed her boundaries, so that felt nice to hear. Sure she was attractive, but like I don't know why people thought that she would get with them when they acted that way.
