  1. Welcome back to Advanced Runes, Students! We will be continuing our in-depth study on the symbols behind runes. Let's dive right in.
  2. Remembering back to our first lesson, the number 3 is symbolized by the Runespoor. The Runespoor is a three-headed snake native to the African country of Burkina Faso. They are commonly six to seven feet long, with orange and black stripes. Since they are very easy to spot, the Burkina Faso Ministry of Magic has had to make several forests Unplottable for the Runespoor's use. According to writings from Parselmouths, each of the Runespoor's heads serves a different function.
  3. The next rune, the number 4, is represented by the Fwooper. The Fwooper is a magical African bird with brightly-coloured feathers, which can include orange, pink, lime green and yellow. Listening to the Fwooper's high pitched, twittering song will drive the listener insane, so each bird must be sold with a Silencing Charm placed on it. Fwooper feathers are used as quills, and they lay patterned eggs. The four colour varieties of the Fwooper are used to represent the number four.
  4. The last rune we will be going over today is 5, which is symbolized by the Quintaped. Quintapeds are only found of the Isle of Drear, which lies off the norhernmost tip of Scotland. The isle has been made Unplottable to minimize the danger posed by these creatures. The five club footed legs of the Quintaped are used to represent the number five.
  5. Once you are finished taking notes, please move on to the homework.
