 Bio : Gordon Duvall was born and raised in a provincial town in Terrania. He chose to enter the seminary seeking a better life than being a farmhand, and by the time he was in his late 20s he was preaching at a chapel of his own, spreading the word of the Defender.
His life took a sudden turn, however, when he (quite literally) ran into a childhood friend of his, Amber. The two of them hit it off instantly, and a mere year later the two married. This was slightly problematic from the priesthood's position, as Gordon had previously taken vows against that sort of thing. To Father Duvall, however, the chance to be with the woman he loved was far more important. He renounced his vows and the happy couple settled in for a simple, rustic life together.
Tragedy struck just half a year later, when Amber lost her life. The exact circumstances of her death led the grief-stricken Gordon to believe that the Defender, angry at him for his vow-breaking, had decided to punish both of them in different ways. He reaffirmed his vows and swore to earn the Defender's forgiveness or die trying.
While Gordon had always been a fairly serious leader of the flock (except around Amber), he was much beloved by his community before Amber's death for his ability to care about the common folks. Afterwards, he became ever-more bitter - some would say caustic. Young people especially seem to drive him away, though oddly the exact age range that creates the worst effect seems to increase with the passing years.
Now 50, Gordon seeks the Gates of Rundum in the desperate hope that somehow, someway, he can find peace.
