  29.
  30. Politics. Politics are disturbing. Especially here; this is a world where, as is the case of many, certain powers conspire to amass power for themselves and their allies while shutting out anyone who is not one of 'them'.
  31.
  32. At the end of 2008, the Conservative president ended his second term with an approval rating that encompassed nearly four out of five Americans, and endorsed a hardcore Arch-Conservative from the $$ U.S.A. Flag Eagle $$ Conservative Party. The new president was swept into power along with a majority of Conservatives now holding seats in congress, and had their sights set on passing an Arch-Conservative Amendment to the Constitution. Now, normally I'm live-and-let-live. I honestly am. But looking ahead, this world is full of people who are going to take things to the insane conclusion where roving bands of kill squads will execute anyone who does not conform, among a GREAT many other issues.
  33.
  34. And the reason is, I'm going to be the President of the United States of America.
  35.
  36. There are any number of ways that this can be done, of course. The Liberal Crime Squad is nothing more than an urban myth, because running around spraypainting nonsense and storming radio stations is a great way to get yourself on a watch list. Instead, I did the intelligent thing. By day, go to work, go to college, get into a little political activism and go for that law degree. By night, scope things out and find like-minded individuals who aren't terribly happy with how things are going and are in a position to change things as sleeper agents, or who themselves can be taught to do the same. Find a sympathetic judge, cop, media personality, and so on, and the Spider's Web network lets me know exactly where the best targets are for this. Get them accustomed to helping out, doing little things in return for making sure their pockets get lined appropriately, because this is a world where greed has poisoned men's souls. The better they do, the more they do to advance the Elite Liberal Agenda, the more green lines their pockets.
  37.
  38. Where am I getting all this green? You must not have seen my Totally L̶i̶b̶e̶r̶a̶l̶ Legitimate Business Front. And the Money-Maker that followed me from Captain Planet; turns out Arch-Conservative laws let me cut enough corners with it to grow pretty effectively.
  39.
  40. Now, of course, I wasn't doing this in just one city. While I don't often talk about it, I very frequently make use of duplication abilities - Dupli-Kate combined with Infomorph means I can just drop copies of myself into electronics anywhere or into others' heads - and this meant I wasn't just doing this in one city, I was making copies of myself to go to EVERY major city in every North American state. The Elite Liberal Cause gets a great deal of opportunity to propagate. Moreover, it's got enough support that the sleepers are able to absolutely tank the Arch-Conservative approval ratings by the time of the midterm elections.
  41.
  42. By the time 2012 rolls around, it's graduated from being covert to a movement, if a quiet one, and the media cites Arch-Conservative backlash as the moderate party gets their candidate into office; in 2016 he's reelected as the Conservative party meets setback after setback; in 2020 the Liberal party candidate is elected and serves a two-term presidency as the political climate continues to shift.
  43.
  44. At the end of 2028, a Liberal president ended his second term with an approval rating that encompassed nearly four out of five Americans, and endorsed a hardcore Liberal from the Progressive Elite Social Liberal Party, Michael F. Valentine. The new president was swept into power along with a majority of Liberals now holding seats in congress, and they had their sights set on passing a Liberal Amendment to the Constitution.
  45.
  46. Do you want to hear something disturbing?
  47.
  48. The more things change, the more they remain the same.
