  1. Sometimes, after your opponent has recently sent a boss attack, you will not get a boss reversal (that is, a boss attack of your own) at 51,200 spell points. If this occurs, you can get a boss reversal at around 100k spell points (probably 102,400). I believe you can get this 100k boss reversal every time; I know you can get it at least sometimes. I'm uncertain what happens at higher values, although it seems like you can get an endless series of boss reversals with increasingly higher spell points (read: when you are engulfed in chaos). The wiki says you get a boss attack at 51,200 spell points and a "Boss Panic (Level 3 Spell Attack)" at 300,000 spell points, but that's all it says.
  2.
  3. Spell rank increases by three when a lvl3 spell attack is triggered at 300,000 spell points. That is, it skips two ranks, because spell rank normally goes up by one when a spell is cast.
  4.
  5. Boss rank can skip ahead by one rank. Normally, boss rank goes up by one when a boss attack is triggered (either from a lvl4 or from spell points), but sometimes a spell attack (lvl2 or lvl3) will increase the boss rank by one (in addition to increasing the spell rank) and sometimes a boss attack (either from a lvl4 or from spell points) will increase the boss rank by two. I don't know what causes this.
  6.
  7. Curiously, the boss rank is always one lower than it should be. The next boss will be rank x when the number in the lower-right corner of the screen is x. With spells, the next spell will be rank y+1 when the number in the lower-left corner of the screen is y (except for y=16, in which case spell rank will be 16).
  8.
  9. Rikako's spell attacks can hit at ranks 4, 5, 14, and 15 when the other character remains stationary. "Can hit" because sometimes they hit and sometimes they miss, and they can hit anywhere on the screen (though it's probably more likely that they'll hit as you get closer to one of the bullet streams' spawn-points). I don't know what determines this. My guess is that it has something to do with character movement prior to bullet spawning, similar to how Marisa's laser appears to be slightly offset by moving (see following section). The list below shows whether lvl2 and lvl3 spell attacks can hit or miss at each rank.
  10. -- 4 - both can hit; both can miss
  11. -- 5 - both can hit; lvl2 can miss (lvl3s might miss; they just didn't in my trials, and I got impatient and stopped trying to check)
  12. --14 - lvl3 can hit; both can miss (lvl2s might hit; they just didn't in my trials, and I got impatient and stopped trying to check)
  13. --15 - both can hit; both can miss
  14. It's easy to distinguish these four ranks from the other ranks by looking at the last two bullets in each stream. At these four ranks, said bullets are very close together, noticeably closer than said bullets at the other ranks. So this is the best indicator for when to dodge (instead of staying put). Alternately, you could look at the rank as it flashes on the screen, but it's usually better to spend that time looking at the bullets and planning your following moves. You could not, however, know what the rank would be based on the previous rank, due to possible rank skipping.
  15.
  16. Marisa's laser sometimes will and other times won't hit the enemies that drop down right next to you when you are stationary. This applies to both the charge shot (lvl1) laser and the charge max (hyper) laser. I don't know how to tell whether the laser will or won't hit. However, either the laser or the enemies seem to be offset by a pixel or two, and it seems that this offset can be tweaked by moving away from the enemies then stopping, at which point the laser will hit the enemies.
  17. --Charge shot (lvl1) laser: when at first it doesn't hit enemies on one side, it does hit them when Marisa moves away from the enemies, stops, and lasers again. However, it doesn't hit them when Marisa doesn't move and simply lasers again.
  18. --Charge max (hyper) laser: when at first it doesn't hit enemies on the right, it does hit them when Marisa moves left and stops (this probably works for enemies on the left as well, but I got impatient and didn't check).
