- LIFE IS STRANGE SEASON 2
- EPISODE 1, Chapter 1, Dr. Andrews’ Office
- A man wearing a suit sits on an armchair. He’s tapping his pen on his clipboard. The light of the window on the opposite side of the room illuminates half of his face, revealing a middle-aged, dark haired man with glasses.
- Across the room, sits another person. His eyes are closed. A tall, average-built 16-year-old. He’s wearing black jeans, a dark grey jacket and a black shirt underneath. His name is Jackson Saley.
- Suited Man
- Mr. Saley. Mr. Saley?
- Jackson exhales.
- Dr. Andrews
- I can’t help you if you block me out.
- Jackson stays still.
- Dr. Andrews
- I understand that it’s not easy to open up to someone about your problems, but this is our third session and we have made no progress.
- Jackson opens his eyes.
- Jackson
- How many patients have you had, Dr. Andrews?
- Dr. Andrews frowns a little.
- Dr. Andrews
- Too many to count, Mr. Saley.
- Jackson
- Have you ever doubted someone’s story?
- Pause.
- Dr. Andrews
- How do you mean?
- Jackson
- Have you ever thought your patient was lying?
- Dr. Andrews
- I think that when one of my patients is lying, it always has some truth behind it.
- Jackson
- So, no matter how implausible the story, you think there’s still some truth behind it?
- Dr. Andrews
- Yes.
- Jackson
- That’s good. Because my story is going to be the most fucked up you’ve heard yet.
- EPISODE 1, Chapter 2, Jackson’s Apartment
- An alarm beeps continuously.
- Jackson wakes up with a start. Jackson slams his hand on the snooze button. He is wearing a tank top and boxers. His room is dark, the blinds are shut and his bed is messed up. His blankets are on the floor. Jackson wipes his forehead and stands up.
- Jackson
- What the fuck kind of dream was that?
- He looks at the clock on his bedside table.
- Jackson
- Shit! I’m gonna be late for school!
- The player has control now, and can walk around. A song plays in the background.
- Things the player can look at (Jackson’s room)
- Things Jackson will say
- Photo of Jackson and his brother
- Me and Alex. (sigh)
- Shelf with books
- ‘The Americans,’ ‘Sophomore Science,’ and ‘Psycho’ by Robert Bloch. Strange library.
- Drawer filled with random junk.
- Why do I keep this? I may never know.
- Stereo
- Can’t get to sleep without my music. I wouldn’t be the same if I didn’t have it.
- Beanbag
- God, this is old. Look at all the stitches. But I like to sit there when I read. Something about it is comforting.
- The player must get some clothes on from the wardrobe to be able to leave the bedroom.
- The player goes around a rather small apartment -about the size of a Blackwell classroom- picking up various things for school (brushing teeth, grabbing money for lunch) and exploring his apartment.
- Things the player can look at (Kitchen, Bathroom, Living Room)
- Things Jackson will say
- Couch (two seater, living room)
- It’s not much, but it was free at a garage sale. What can I say? I like free things.
- Pantry (Kitchen)
- Ugh. I’m going to have to go grocery shopping soon.
- Fridge (Kitchen)
- This was a cheap fridge, thank God. Why are fridges so damn expensive? Somewhere, a fridge has put someone out of home.
- Pictures (living room)
- Movies, Games (living room)
- (Game: What if?) Man, this was one weird ass game. I don’t know anyone that says hella.
- + More things
- The player leaves through the garage door and gets in the car, bringing on the title/opening credits of the game as Jackson drives through the aesthetically pleasing fictional town of (?), very close to Seattle, Washington.
- EPISODE 1, Chapter 3, School Campus
- Jackson arrives at school.
- The player exits the car into the parking lot and starts walking towards the school entrance.
- Jackson
- I have 5 minutes to get to class.
- The player is stopped at the gate by a 17-year-old, Aiden Samuels, who is up against the front gate, folding his arms. Jackson tries to avoid him.
- Aiden
- Jackson-- Jack- C’mon, I just want to talk.
- Jackson
- Stop, Aiden.
- Aiden
- I just want to talk to you.
- Jackson continues to try and push past Aiden, but Aiden blocks him.
- Jackson
- Fine! Fuck! What do you want to know?
- Aiden
- I don't know, how about an explanation?
- (Dialogue Option A: Explanation for what?)
- Jackson
- An explanation for what?
- Aiden
- Why have you been ignoring my texts?
- Jackson
- I haven't been.
- Aiden
- Bullshit. Tell me why.
- Jackson
- You really want to know? It’s because I don’t want to talk.
- Aiden
- Jack, I want to help.
- Jackson
- I know you do. But I’m not ready for it yet.
- Aiden
- Jack, wait--
- (Dialogue Option B: I don’t have time for this.)
- Jackson
- Aiden, I don't have time. I have class in 5 minutes.
- Aiden
- You do now. Why have you been ignoring my texts?
- Jackson
- Aiden, I’m not in the mood for this.
- Aiden
- I just want to help you.
- Jackson
- Don’t bother. It’s going to take a lot more than one person to help me.
- Jackson pushes through Aiden and goes through the gate, leaving for class.
- Fade to black.
- EPISODE 1, Chapter 4, Classroom
- The player enters a dark, empty school hallway. Everything is grey and unhappy. The player can look around at various lockers before going to Jackson’s own.
- Aiden texts Jackson, saying ‘I can’t fix this if you keep walking away.’ Jackson doesn’t reply.
- Jackson (therapy session)
- Aiden just didn’t understand.
- Opening Jackson’s locker will trigger a cutscene.
- The camera switches to a side angle of Jackson. He is in focus while the rest of the hallway is blurred. There is a figure standing at the end of the hallway. Jackson doesn’t notice.
- Jackson closes his locker, having all his books in his bag. He begins to walk to class, when he sees the figure. The camera focuses in on the figure for a few seconds. It’s Alex, Jackson’s brother.
- Jackson
- (Breathless) No…
- The figure leaves.
- Jackson closes his eyes, sighs and walks into class.
- Mr. Timothy
- Jackson Saley. Late...again.
- Jackson
- Sorry, Mr. Timothy.
- Mr. Timothy
- Sorry doesn’t cut it this time, Saley. I’m going to write you up.
- (Dialogue Option A: I don’t really care.)
- Jackson
- To be honest, I stopped giving a shit the thirtieth time you gave me a detention.
- The class “ooh’s”.
- Mr. Timothy
- Looks like it’ll have to be suspension this time, then.
- Jackson
- Good thinking, Mr. Timothy.
- (Dialogue Option B: Won’t happen again.)
- Jackson
- (sigh) It won’t happen again, sir.
- Mr. Timothy
- I bet it won't. Might have to suspend you if it does.
- Jackson
- Pssh.
- Jackson sits down at a desk, a couple of people staring at him.
- Mr. Timothy
- Anyway, as I was saying…
- Mr. Timothy's dialogue becomes muffled.
- A jock, Ben Shiring, taps Jackson on the shoulder from behind him.
- Ben
- Too busy crying over your boyfriend to come to school?
- Jackson
- No, I was too busy crying over the fact that your IQ won’t pass negative 60.
- The boy sitting next to Jackson puts his hand to his mouth and laughs quietly.
- Ben scowls and looks away.
- The player can look around the classroom.
- Things the player can look at (classroom)
- What Jackson will say about them
- The teacher.
- Maybe I should start calling Timothy chloroform. His voice has the same effect.
- The person sitting next to him.
- ‘Finn Jacobs. Not much I can say about him. He’s nice, he plays baseball, and talks about video games way too much.’
- The whiteboard.
- ‘Looking at this is like looking in a bowl of alphabet soup. Just a complete jumble of letters.’
- Jackson’s phone. Containing pictures of: Jackson and his father, a forest, a beach and a hospital.
- ‘I wish I could afford an actual camera. Until then I’m stuck with the photographical quality of a toaster. Still, some good memories looking at these.’
- More things
- After looking at Jackson’s phone, the same boy from the hallway has appeared behind the teacher.
- Jackson starts breathing heavily, causing the person sitting near him, Finn Jacobs, to say
- Finn Jacobs
- Dude, are you feeling alright?
- Finn puts his hand on Jackson's shoulder. Jackson panics and hits it away.
- Jackson
- Get the fuck off me!
- Jackson stands up and leaves the class. The teacher disapproves and tries to stop him, but lets him go.
- The player can move around.
- Jackson (therapy session)
- I had to go home or I was going to pass out.
- The player proceeds to run through the hallway, all the while Jackson hallucinates the young boy everywhere he looks.
- The player leaves the hallway and arrives back in the carpark. Looking in Jackson's car triggers a cutscene where he gets in the car, starts it up and drives away.
- The next scene opens with Jackson driving along a long road. He is still panicking, and breathing heavily.
- Jackson
- If I just get home, everything will be fine.
- Jackson starts to calm down a little.
- The young boy appears in the passenger seat, looking over his seat at the rear window of the car.
- Young Boy
- Where the fuck are we going?!
- Jackson stares at the boy, nearly crying. He's not looking at the road.
- The camera switches to the road where a little girl is chasing after a ball that is rolling along the road. The car is coming closer, but it's out of focus.
- The camera switches back to being in the car. Jackson is nearly having a panic attack, and is still hallucinating the boy.
- Young Boy
- Jack, what did you do?!
- Jackson looks back at the road to see the little girl a few feet away from the car.
- Jackson
- NO!
- Jackson holds out his arm.
- Everything moves in slow motion. The little girl lifts off the ground and starts flying away from the car.
- The camera moves to a side view of the car and the girl flying backwards.
- Suddenly, everything rewinds and the car reverses. The little girl and her ball arrive back in the middle of the road.
- Time moves in regular speed. Jackson freaks out, swerves the car around the girl and slams on the brakes. The car grinds to a screeching halt. The young boy in the car fades away.
- Jackson
- What the fuck?! What the FUCK just happened?!
- He immediately gets out of the car. The girl is sitting on the ground, dazed.
- Jackson runs up to her, kneels and puts his hands on her shoulders.
- Jackson
- Are-are you okay?!
- Little girl
- I'm okay. My knee hurts.
- Jackson lets go of her shoulders and sighs a sigh of relief.
- Jackson
- Just make sure to look where you're going next time, okay?
- He stands up.
- Little girl
- Okay, mister.
- She stands up, grabs her ball and goes back inside.
- Jackson puts his hand on his forehead.
- Jackson's thoughts
- I... I hit the girl...but then...she’s okay. Either I’m going insane...or I just rewound time.
- The player moves Jackson back into the car. Jackson drives back to his apartment.
- Jackson enters his apartment, and rushes to the kitchen sink. He vomits.
- He stands up, grabs his phone out of his pocket and calls Aiden.
- Jackson
- Aiden, I think I’m going insane.
- Aiden (over phone)
- What--
- Jackson
- Just come over!
- Jackson hangs up before Aiden can say anything.
- EPISODE 1, Chapter 5, Dr. Andrews’ Office
- Dr Andrews.
- You rewound time?
- Jackson
- Do you not believe me?
- Dr. Andrews
- I think you’re telling the truth. But I think there’s something more to what you’re telling me.
- Jackson
- What do you think that is?
- Dr. Andrews
- Maybe rewinding time was something you made up to cope with something you did?
- (Option A: Hitting a little girl?)
- Jackson
- You mean hitting a little girl? No. You can go to her house. She’s alive.
- (Option B: What do you think I did?)
- Jackson
- What do I need to cope with?
- Dr. Andrews
- The girl you hit with your car.
- Jackson
- No. She’s alive. She’s probably at her house right now.
- Jackson
- I didn’t create this to cope with anything. I didn’t create this at all. It just happened.
- EPISODE 1, Chapter 6, Jackson’s Apartment
- Jackson opens his apartment door. Aiden is standing outside.
- Jackson
- I have to show you something.
- Aiden
- Wait, Jack--
- Jackson
- Just--come inside!
- Aiden walks in. Jackson gestures to Aiden to sit on the couch.
- Jackson stands in front of Aiden.
- Jackson
- Okay, you’re going to think I’m completely crazy.
- Aiden
- I already do. Just tell me what’s up.
- (Dialogue Option A: I can rewind time.)
- Jackson
- (inhale) Okay...okay...I think I can rewind time.
- Aiden
- Jack.
- Jackson
- I’m serious.
- Aiden
- Jack...
- Jackson
- Aiden. Listen to me. I’m serious.
- Aiden
- Fine.
- Jackson
- ...Something happened to me today. I left class, because...I didn’t feel that great. I got in the car, and I was distracted, and I hit this little girl.
- (Dialogue Option B: I hit a little girl.)
- Jackson
- I hit a little girl with my car.
- There’s a long pause.
- Aiden
- (sarcastic) Your sense of humour is impeccable.
- Jackson
- I’m not joking. I started...getting sick, so I got in the car and left school. I got distracted and I hit a little girl.
- Aiden
- Wait, what?
- Jackson
- But then she was okay. In a few seconds, I was back before I hit her and I managed to swerve away to avoid hitting her.
- Aiden
- Jack. Be honest. Are you high?
- Jackson
- No! ...Maybe a little. I don’t know. But I know this is real. The little girl, she’s okay.
- Aiden
- You’re high, aren’t you?
- Jackson
- I will prove it to you.
- Aiden
- And how exactly are you going to prove that?
- A car alarm goes off on the street next to the window.
- Jackson’s Thoughts
- Yes! That’s it!
- Jackson checks outside, and sees a car’s lights blaring, then walks back to Aiden.
- Aiden
- Is that my car?
- Jackson’s Thoughts
- Okay. I can do this. How did I do it?
- Jackson holds his arm out.
- Jackson’s Thoughts
- Right. And then--
- A rewind prompt comes up for the player.
- The player rewinds. Jackson stumbles a little.
- Jackson
- Shit! Oh my God. Okay. Aiden. In a few seconds, your car alarm outside will ring.
- Aiden
- How would you--?
- Jackson
- Shh.
- The car alarm rings.
- Jackson’s Thoughts
- It worked!
- Aiden
- What--did someone hit my car?
- Jackson
- Did you not JUST SEE I predicted the future?
- Aiden
- Major coincidence. You don’t seriously believe you can rewind time, do you?
- Jackson
- Okay, Negative Nancy, fine. Tell me...something you’ve never told me before.
- Aiden
- You’re a dick.
- Jackson
- Ha ha. You’ve definitely told me that before.
- Aiden
- Hm...okay, okay...How about the time you said a heap of your money was missing, and I told you I didn't take it? I spent it on clothes for my dog.
- Jackson
- You what? Asshole. That was three hundred dollars! I had to work overtime because of you!
- Aiden laughs loudly.
- A prompt to rewind comes up.
- Jackson’s Thoughts
- What a dick.
- The player rewinds, and talks to Aiden.
- Jackson
- You spent my fucking money on clothes for your dog.
- Aiden
- Huh. Holy shit.
- Jackson
- Do you believe me yet?
- Aiden
- I’m not sure yet. This is still a little too coincidental. You can’t expect me to believe that you can rewind time this easily.
- Jackson
- Oh, my GOD. What else do I have to do?!
- Aiden
- Something that will make me believe you without a doubt.
- A prompt comes up.
- ‘When you rewind, you can move ahead of time to “teleport” yourself.’
- The player can either sit down on the couch next to Aiden, or go into another room and then rewind.
- (If the player rewound after sitting on the couch)
- Aiden
- What the FUCK?!
- Jackson laughs loudly.
- Aiden
- Holy shit! That was fucking cool! Okay, okay, I believe you!
- Jackson
- (laughing) Fucking finally!
- (If the player walked into another room and then rewound)
- Aiden
- Jack? (quietly) Where did he go? Man, I must be high as fuck.
- Jackson walks into the room
- Aiden
- What the FUCK?
- Jackson laughs loudly.
- Aiden
- Holy shit! That was fucking cool! Okay, okay, I believe you!
- Jackson
- (laughing) Fucking finally!
- Jackson
- (Jackson’s laughing dies down, and he becomes serious) Do you get why I’m freaking out, then?
- Aiden
- ...Oh my God. You hit a little girl.
- Jackson
- Yes, I did! But then I spoke to her, and she-she just stood up and left. She was fine...and it’s totally fucking with me.
- Aiden
- This is...totally weird.
- Jackson
- …’Weird’? I hit a six-year-old girl with my fucking car and all you can say is ‘weird’?
- Aiden
- Jesus, calm the fuck down. Look at what you can do with this power! Look at what you could do!
- Jackson
- Here we go. It is only for emergencies. We are not doing anything drastic. I get a fuckin’ migraine whenever I use it.
- Aiden
- You can rewind time and you’re complaining about getting a little headache when you use it? Pussy.
- Jackson
- Fuck off. Besides, what would I even use it for? I can’t even rewind that far.
- Aiden
- You can use it to help me.
- Jackson
- (laughs) Oh yeah? How would I do that?
- Aiden
- (exhales) Get my Dad back into rehab.
- Jackson
- What? After a week?
- Aiden
- Yep. He just left. He said that ‘no one cared anyway’.
- Jackson
- Shit.
- Aiden
- Yeah. He’s back at home, and someone needs to take care of him in case he overdoses.
- Jackson
- Why didn’t you tell me before?
- Aiden
- You have enough on your plate already, I didn’t want to add to it.
- Jackson
- No, don’t give me that bullshit. I’m here to help you.
- Aiden
- Thanks, Jack.
- There’s a few seconds of pause. Aiden rubs the back of his head; Jack looks at the ground.
- Jackson
- Uh-yeah. Sure. It’s fine.
- There’s an even longer pause.
- Jackson
- I have to tell you something.
- Aiden
- Uh oh. What’s that?
- Major Choice
- (Tell Aiden About Hallucinations)
- Jackson
- I’ve been seeing Alex again.
- Aiden
- Shit.
- Jackson
- I know...you told me to keep seeing Dr. Andrews, but...I couldn’t handle it. I couldn’t handle talking about him, or Sarah, or anything.
- Aiden
- It’s supposed to help you, Jack. It’ll make you better.
- Jackson
- I can’t.
- Aiden
- Okay. I guess I can’t force you to do anything…
- Shit, looks like we both have problems.
- Jackson
- Looks like we do.
- Major Choice
- (Don’t Tell Aiden About Hallucinations)
- Jackson
- Uh, never mind. It’s not important.
- Aiden
- Clearly it is. But okay.
- This action will have consequences…
- Aiden
- Oh, fuck. I gotta get back, it’s getting kind of late. Gotta take care of Dad.
- Jackson
- Okay.
- The camera cuts to them both at the front door.
- Aiden
- Take care of yourself, alright?
- Jackson
- I’ll try.
- Aiden pats Jackson’s shoulder.
- Aiden
- Don’t kill too many people with your rewind, okay? And stay off the weed for a while.
- Jackson laughs.
- Jackson
- Shut up, you got me into it.
- Aiden laughs, and then leaves. Jackson closes the door.
- He sighs.
- Jackson
- Why are you the way you are, Jack?
- Jackson walks towards the couch. Suddenly, his nose starts bleeding.
- Jackson
- Ow. What the fuck?
- Jackson presses a hand against his head.
- Jackson
- Shit…
- Jackson passes out.
- EPISODE 1, Chapter 7, Dr. Andrews’ Office
- Jackson
- I discovered later that migraines would be a problem.
- Jackson leans back in his chair.
- Dr. Andrews
- I think we should talk about your hallucinations.
- Jackson cracks his neck.
- Jackson
- What about them?
- Dr. Andrews
- Where do they stem from?
- Jackson looks away.
- EPISODE 1, Chapter 8, Jackson’s Mum’s House, 2016
- Alex is sitting at the dinner table. Jackson is on the couch.
- Alex
- Jack? Can I get some help with this?
- Jackson walks over to Alex.
- Jackson
- Sure, what’s up?
- Alex
- I have this shitty assignment I have to do. I’ve been skipping Math for weeks.
- (Dialogue Option A: What did I tell you about that?
- Jackson
- What did I tell you about skipping class? (laugh) You’re 15 now, you can’t keep slacking off. It’ll go on your school record.
- Alex laughs.
- Alex
- Am I going to get help, or will you continue to lecture me?
- (Dialogue Option B: Learning from me?)
- Jackson
- Learning from your brother, hey? Good man.
- Jackson sits down.
- Jackson
- What do you need?
- Alex breathes deeply.
- Alex
- ‘If 3x-y=12, what is the value of 8x divided by 2y?
- Jackson
- Shit. I didn’t think it would be that hard. Lemme look at the question.
- Jackson looks at Alex’s homework.
- Jackson
- Okay, well we can start off by--
- A woman barges in through the front, with a guy on her arm. She is kissing him intensely.
- Jackson rolls his eyes and sits back in his chair.
- Jackson
- Another one, Sarah?
- The woman stops kissing the man and glares at Jackson.
- Jackson
- That’s the fifth one this week, isn’t it? You making them in a factory?
- The woman stumbles towards Jackson.
- Sarah
- You listen here, motherfucker.
- Sarah points her finger at Jackson.
- At least someone here cares about me. Can’t say the same for you.
- Dialogue Option A: Whatever helps you sleep at night.
- Jackson
- Whatever helps you sleep at night.
- Sarah slaps Jackson across the face.
- Alex
- Hey!
- Jackson
- Don’t, Alex. I’m fine.
- Alex sits down. Jackson rubs his face in frustration.
- Dialogue Option B: He doesn’t care about you.
- Jackson
- He doesn’t care about you, Sarah. None of them do.
- Sarah
- You fucking--!
- Sarah slaps Jackson across the face.
- Alex stands up.
- Alex
- Hey!
- Jackson
- Don’t, Alex. I’m fine.
- Alex sits down. Jackson rubs his face in frustration.
- Sarah straightens herself up.
- Sarah
- You’re just like your father. A mess of a man.
- Alex
- I don’t quite think you’re one to talk about messes.
- Sarah cranes her head towards Alex.
- Sarah
- Taking a leaf from your brother’s book, now, huh?! Don’t worry, we’ll knock that out of you.
- Matt, help me with this.
- Sarah and her boyfriend grab hold of Alex.
- Jackson
- What the hell are you doing?!
- Sarah and Matt drag Alex to the kitchen, and push him onto the floor.
- Sarah grabs a belt from the bench.
- Jackson
- NO!
- EPISODE 1, Chapter 9, Jackson’s Apartment
- Jackson wakes up with a start, breathing quickly and heavily. He’s on the living room carpet. It’s midday the next morning.
- Jackson
- Shit. I was out for a while.
- Jackson stands up. He can walk around the apartment, but there’s nothing new to explore, except on the couch. Aiden’s wallet is lying on it. The player can leave the apartment whenever they like.
- Jackson
- Oh shit. Aiden left his wallet.
- The player looks in Aiden’s wallet.
- Things in Aiden’s Wallet
- What Jackson says about it
- Credit card
- Typical. It’s expired.
- Picture of Aiden and Jackson
- I remember when we took this. It was Aiden’s 15th. All his friends were there, I puked in the pool...Huh.
- Dr. Andrews’ Psychiatrist Card
- It’s good to see that someone cares.
- The player can now leave the apartment.
- EPISODE 1, Chapter 10, School Campus
- Jackson arrives at school. There are people at the front of the school. It’s lunchtime. The player can walk around and talk to all the students outside.
- Jackson’s Thoughts
- All I have to do is go to my locker. I have a few minutes before class starts, though. I can talk to my friends.
- Most of the people are static, but there are a few people that the player can converse with.
- The player can leave this area at any time, there is no obligation to be there, other than conversations.
- People Outside
- What Jackson says when he looks at them.
- Finn Jacobs
- I feel really bad about what I said to him yesterday. Maybe I should apologize.
- Aaron Greyson
- I’ve known Aaron since Elementary School. I’ve also known he’s been a dick since then. Nice to know some things never change.
- Danielle Porter
- I don’t know Danielle very much. From the limited interaction I’ve had with her she’s definitely not a bad person. She smokes a lot, though.
- Lizzie Porter
- I’ve never actually met Lizzie. She has a lot of friends, and goes to a lot of parties.
- Sophie Wright
- (laughs) Sophie. She was my ‘girlfriend’ in Elementary School. Man, everyone thought I was so cool. It’s basically the opposite now.
- People You Can Converse With
- Conversation Transcript
- Finn Jacobs
- Jackson
- Hey, Finn.
- Finn
- Jackson.
- Jackson
- Look, I’m sorry about yesterday. I wasn’t feeling that great.
- Finn
- Clearly. You looked pretty fucked up.
- Jackson laughs.
- Jackson
- Yep, thanks.
- Finn laughs.
- Finn
- Are you feeling okay now?
- (Dialogue Option A: More or less)
- Jackson
- More or less.
- Aiden
- That’s good!
- (Dialogue Option B: Could be better.)
- Jackson
- Definitely could be better.
- Finn
- That’s no good.
- Finn
- Listen, I know things are hard on you at the moment, but it will get better.
- Jackson looks away.
- Jackson
- Right.
- Finn
- I’m serious. It will. Mom died 6 months ago, and I’m virtually fine now. You will be too.
- Jackson
- Thanks, Finn.
- Aaron Greyson
- Jackson
- Hey, Aaron.
- Aaron
- Heyyy! Haven’t spoken to you in a while, dude! How are you?
- Jackson
- Yeah...yeah, I’m good. What about you?
- Aaron
- I’m great, dude! You know what day yesterday was, right?
- Jackson
- Oh, fuck! It was your birthday! I’m sorry!
- Aaron
- It’s okay, dude. I know you’re having a hard time.
- Jackson
- (sigh) Does everyone know?
- Aaron
- Would it hurt if I said yes?
- Jackson
- (sigh) Just great. Anyway, how’s the big One Seven?
- Aaron
- Literally no different. It’s just a day.
- (Option A: That’s cynical.)
- Jackson
- That’s pretty cynical.
- Aaron
- That’s just me, dude.
- (Option B: True.)
- Jackson
- I totally agree.
- Jackson
- Anyway. I’ll try and talk to you later, Aaron.
- Aaron
- See ya, dude.
- Danielle Porter
- Jackson
- Danielle.
- Danielle
- Jackson! It’s been ages! Decided to come back this term?
- Jackson
- Yeah. Can’t say for how long, though.
- Danielle
- Do you need any help with your homework?
- Jackson
- Ah, no. Not going to do it either way. I don’t think Mr. Timothy even cares at this point.
- Danielle
- No, I don’t think he ever does. By the way, a bunch of us are getting together for Aaron’s birthday this Friday. You down?
- Major Choice
- (Option A: Go.)
- Jackson
- Yeah, definitely! Wouldn’t miss it.
- Danielle
- Awesome! I’ll text you the details later on.
- (Option B: Don’t go.)
- Jackson
- Sorry, I can’t. Surprisingly, being off school so often is still really busy.
- Danielle
- Totally fine. I get it.
- Jackson
- I’ll see you later, Danielle.
- Lizzie Porter
- Jackson
- Hey, Lizzie.
- Lizzie
- Who are you, again?
- Jackson
- Jackson. Jackson Saley?
- Lizzie
- Oh. You’re Aiden’s ex, right?
- (Option A: Right.)
- Jackson
- Uh, right.
- Lizzie
- I don’t like Aiden.
- Jackson
- Great.
- (Option B: What about it?)
- Jackson
- What about it?
- Lizzie
- Just wondering. Aiden’s an asshole.
- Jackson
- Yeah, he can be.
- Lizzie
- He pushed me over in Elementary school.
- Jackson
- That seems an awfully long time to hold a grudge.
- Lizzie
- (mocking) ‘Oh, yes, awfully long, quite, quite.’
- Jackson
- Excuse me?
- Lizzie
- I was making fun of what you said.
- Jackson
- Clearly.
- Lizzie
- You’re cooler than Aiden. In, like, a weird kinda way.
- Jackson
- Thanks so much, Lizzie. I’m going to go now.
- Sophie Wright (doing photography work)
- Jackson
- Hey, Sophie.
- Sophie
- Oh, what’s up, Jack?
- Jackson
- Um, not a lot, actually. Just killing time. What about you?
- Sophie
- Just, you know, hating photography.
- Jackson
- Why’s that?
- Sophie
- Our teacher is a bitch. She told us to find an artistic influence, and I chose Mark Jefferson as my influence, right? She sent me out of class.
- (Option A: The criminal?)
- Jackson
- Wait, wait, wait. The criminal? That guy who drugged a bunch of girls a few years ago?
- Sophie
- So what? I like his vision and his style.
- Jackson
- Sure. That’s fine. Just don’t go drugging innocent girls and taking pictures of them, okay?
- Sophie
- Don’t worry, Jack. I won’t.
- (Option B: I don’t blame her.)
- Jackson
- I wouldn’t blame her. He and his accomplice killed and drugged a heap of innocent girls.
- Sophie
- I really don’t give a shit. I just like his photos.
- Jackson
- I’m just glad he’s in prison. He used to live around here.
- Sophie
- Yeah, I guess so. Anyway, I have to get this done. Talk to you later, Jack.
- The player now has to leave the area.
- The player enters the classroom hallway. There’s only a couple of people in there, but they are static. To progress, the player must go to Jackson’s locker and gather his things for class.
- Jackson opens his locker door, and starts gathering his things.
- Ben bursts through the door. He walks towards.
- Ben
- Jackson!
- Jackson
- Afternoon, Ben. How are you?
- Ben
- Great, Jack! Fantastic.
- Jackson
- Sorry, Ben, Jack is a name only my friends can call me.
- Ben
- Right, well--
- Ben grabs Jackson by the shoulders and pushes him up against his locker.
- Ben
- I think we need to set some things straight.
- Jackson
- Oh yeah?
- Ben
- You talk shit about me again, you and Aiden are both dead.
- Jackson
- Oh yeah?
- Ben
- Yeah. And while you’re at it, tell your brother he’s better off where he is, the little shit.
- Jackson
- ...Ex-fucking-cuse me?
- Ben
- You heard me. He’s better off dead.
- Jackson scoffs. People are starting to walk into the hallway and are now watching.
- (Option A: Leave)
- Jackson
- And people wonder why I skip school.
- Jackson walks away.
- Ben
- I bet he’s glad he’s dead!
- The player can either leave or rewind and try the other option.
- (Option B: Conflict)
- Jackson clenches his fist. He takes a step towards Ben.
- Jackson
- What was that? I didn’t quite--
- Jackson punches Ben in the nose. Hard. Ben stumbles onto the ground.
- Jackson
- You listen here, fucktard. You say a word against my brother or Aiden ever again and I will make your fucking life a living hell.
- Some of the other students whisper to each other. Jackson takes another step closer.
- Jackson
- You got it, Benjamin?
- Ben stands up, dusts himself off and walks away.
- A teacher walks in. Mr. Timothy.
- Jackson
- Shit.
- Mr. Timothy
- My office, Saley. Now. (to other students, about Ben) Take him to the Nurse’s office.
- The player can either go with Mr. Timothy or rewind and try the other option.
- Mr. Timothy’s Office
- Mr. Timothy
- Sit down, Saley.
- Jackson slumps into his seat.
- Mr Timothy
- And just what was that?
- Jackson
- He was talking shit. About Alex.
- Mr. Timothy
- That’s no reason to break his...fucking nose.
- Jackson
- Yes it was, Uncle Tim.
- Tim sighs.
- Tim
- You know I’m going to have to suspend you for this.
- Jackson sinks even more into his seat.
- Jackson
- Fine. Can this one not go on my record?
- Tim
- Not how it works, Jack.
- Jackson stands up, and walks to the door.
- Tim
- Oh, and Jack?
- Jackson
- Yeah, Tim?
- Tim
- You seem to be doing well lately.
- Jackson
- At the moment.
- Jackson leaves.
- This action will have consequences...
- Jackson walks to his car.
- He sighs, and then leans up against it. He squints, as if trying to stop himself from crying.
- Then he gets a call from Aiden. The suddenness scares Jackson.
- Jackson picks up.
- Jackson
- (sigh) yeah?
- Aiden
- Meet me at Dad’s. I’m moving out.
- Jackson
- What happened to having someone take care of him?
- Aiden
- You’ll understand when you see me.
- Aiden hangs up.
- Jackson gets in his car and drives off.
- EPISODE 1, Chapter 12
- Jackson arrives at Aiden’s Dad’s house.
- He gets out of the car and sees Aiden sitting against the front door. Aiden looks up, and the player/Jackson can see that he has a black eye, multiple scratches and cuts across his face. He’s bleeding.
- Jackson
- Oh my God! What happened?
- Jackson runs over to Aiden.
- Aiden
- I hid Dad’s bath salts from him, and then he discovered kitchen knives can be used on people too.
- Jackson
- Holy shit. We have to get you to a hospital.
- Aiden
- Don’t. I’m fine. I just want to get my stuff and leave before Dad gets back.
- Jackson
- Okay, sure.
- They go inside. There is mess everywhere.
- Jackson
- Damn. How did you live here?
- Aiden
- Why do you think I’m moving out?
- The player now has control, and can look at several things.
- Things Jackson can look at
- What he will say about them
- Living Room
- Old food, everywhere
- That’s disgusting/ how old is this/this has been here for years.
- Picture of Aiden’s Mum and Dad
- Here’s Aiden’s Mom and Dad. They looked so happy here. I can tell why Aiden’s dad is upset.
- Stain on couch
- I’m not sure I want to know what that is.
- Coffee Table drawer (containing a game called The Dead that Walk)
- Ha. I remember this game. It made me cry.
- Photo of Aiden when he was 10
- Oh my God. I barely remember this Aiden. Even then he wasn’t totally innocent.
- Bathroom
- Medication
- So they gave Aiden’s Dad drugs for his drug addiction. Okay.
- Toothbrush
- This completely clean one is obviously Aiden’s Dad’s. Because he never uses it.
- Shampoo
- I always used to tease Aiden for using women’s shampoo. But it makes his hair look so shiny.
- Junk
- And there’s even old clothes and food in the bathroom. Awesome.
- Aiden’s Room
- Aiden’s trophies
- Most of them are participation awards. But there’s one here for baseball in 2009.
- Bed
- Typical Aiden. Never makes his bed.
- Shelf
- He only has one Harry Potter book. Lame.
- Picture of Aiden and Jackson
- He still kept this up. Shit.
- Kitchen
- Knife set
- Some are missing. These are expensive.
- Cereal
- It’s empty. Aiden always had a habit of late night bowls of cereal.
- Fridge (magnets, pictures, etc.)
- Easy with the magnets there. Throw a few out, at least.
- Laundry
- Gun rack
- Handguns, rifles, grenades...Jesus.
- Jackson
- Hey, Aiden! Why does your Dad have so many guns?!
- Aiden
- He was born in Georgia. Of course he’s going to have a thousand guns.
- + More things
- Aiden is outside. To progress, the player must meet him in the backyard.
- Aiden’s dog is outside. He’s a Samoyed wearing a shark outfit. Aiden has a bag full of his belongings next to him.
- Aiden
- (to dog) Look at you! Look at you in your little shark costume!
- Jackson
- So, this is what you spent my money on.
- Aiden
- Wasn’t it worth it? Look at him!
- The dog wags his tail and sticks his tongue out.
- Jackson
- (smiling) Totally.
- Aiden
- I think I want to take him. He’s not safe with Dad.
- Jackson
- My apartment doesn’t allow dogs.
- Aiden
- So? We can hide him.
- Jackson
- Aiden, I can’t…
- Aiden
- I can’t give him away, he’s my baby. Look at him. He’s too cute to give away.
- Option A: Take Dog
- Option B: Give Him Away
- Jackson
- Fine, we’ll take him.
- Aiden
- Yes! (to dog) Did you hear that, Donut? We get to keep you!
- Jackson
- You named him Donut?
- Aiden
- Everyone loves donuts. Just like everyone loves this dog.
- Aiden plays with Donut for a few seconds. Donut licks him. Aiden, Jackson and Donut go inside.
- Aiden
- (to Donut) Look at you! You’re so--
- Jackson
- Aiden, I know you love him, but we can’t have him.
- Aiden
- But--
- Jackson
- I don’t have the money for a dog We’ll give him to a nice family that don’t do bath salts. He’ll be fine.
- Aiden
- Fine. Asshole.
- Aiden, Jackson and Donut go inside.
- Jackson
- Don’t be like that.
- Aiden
- No, I will! I have to give away my dog--
- Aiden’s Dad is standing at the front door.
- Aiden
- Uh--Hi...Dad.
- Aiden’s Dad
- Who the fuck is this?
- Jackson
- Um--I’m Jack-Jackson. Aiden’s...friend.
- Aiden’s Dad
- I didn’t realize you had any of those, Aiden.
- He laughs loudly.
- Aiden
- We were just leaving.
- Aiden picks up his bag and Donut.
- Aiden’s Dad
- What’s with the bag?
- Jackson looks fearfully at Aiden.
- Aiden’s Dad
- Are you taking the dog…?
- Aiden
- Yeah.
- Aiden’s Dad
- My...dog?
- Aiden
- He’s not safe with you.
- Aiden’s Dad
- And why is that?
- Aiden glances at Jackson.
- Aiden
- Have you been…
- Aiden’s Dad
- Yeah. It makes me feel better.
- Jackson
- So, the rehab didn’t do anything?
- Aiden gives a warning look towards Jackson.
- Aiden’s Dad starts walking towards Jackson. Jackson steps back.
- Jackson
- Sir, I didn’t--
- Aiden
- Dad, stop!
- Aiden’s Dad
- Shut up! Shut the fuck up!
- Aiden’s Dad pushes Aiden onto the table and grabs a gun out of his back pocket. He aims it at Aiden’s head. The screen freezes before anything happens, and the player must rewind and change something. After the rewind, the player can grab some of the junk around nearby and throw it at Aiden’s Dad. When they do this, Aiden’s dad drops the gun accidentally and then charges at Jackson.
- Jackson holds his hand out to rewind, but Aiden’s Dad runs into him at full force, pushing him into the wall.
- Jackson falls down, his back up against the wall. He becomes disorientated and his vision blurs. Aiden’s Dad puts his hands around Jackson’s neck.
- He closes his hands more and more, and Jackson can breathe less and less. Jackson almost passes out, when--BANG. Aiden’s Dad falls in slow motion to the ground.
- Aiden has shot him in the head.
- Jackson’s ears are ringing and his field of vision is getting smaller.
- Jackson has passed out, unable to rewind. Aiden’s heavy breathing echoes as the screen goes black.
- END.
