  1. LIFE IS STRANGE SEASON 2
  2.
  3.
  4. EPISODE 1, Chapter 1, Dr. Andrews’ Office
  5.
  6. A man wearing a suit sits on an armchair. He’s tapping his pen on his clipboard. The light of the window on the opposite side of the room illuminates half of his face, revealing a middle-aged, dark haired man with glasses.
  7.
  8. Across the room, sits another person. His eyes are closed. A tall, average-built 16-year-old. He’s wearing black jeans, a dark grey jacket and a black shirt underneath. His name is Jackson Saley.
  9.
  10. Suited Man
  11. Mr. Saley. Mr. Saley?
  12.
  13. Jackson exhales.
  14.
  15. Dr. Andrews
  16. I can’t help you if you block me out.
  17.
  18. Jackson stays still.
  19.
  20. Dr. Andrews
  21. I understand that it’s not easy to open up to someone about your problems, but this is our third session and we have made no progress.
  22.
  23. Jackson opens his eyes.
  24.
  25. Jackson
  26. How many patients have you had, Dr. Andrews?
  27. Dr. Andrews frowns a little.
  28.
  29. Dr. Andrews
  30. Too many to count, Mr. Saley.
  31.
  32. Jackson
  33. Have you ever doubted someone’s story?
  34.
  35. Pause.
  36.
  37. Dr. Andrews
  38. How do you mean?
  39.
  40. Jackson
  41. Have you ever thought your patient was lying?
  42.
  43. Dr. Andrews
  44. I think that when one of my patients is lying, it always has some truth behind it.
  45.
  46. Jackson
  47. So, no matter how implausible the story, you think there’s still some truth behind it?
  48.
  49. Dr. Andrews
  50. Yes.
  51.
  52. Jackson
  53. That’s good. Because my story is going to be the most fucked up you’ve heard yet.
  54.
  55.
  56.
  57.
  58.
  59.
  60.
  61.
  62. EPISODE 1, Chapter 2, Jackson’s Apartment
  63.
  64. An alarm beeps continuously.
  65.
  66. Jackson wakes up with a start. Jackson slams his hand on the snooze button. He is wearing a tank top and boxers. His room is dark, the blinds are shut and his bed is messed up. His blankets are on the floor. Jackson wipes his forehead and stands up.
  67.
  68. Jackson
  69. What the fuck kind of dream was that?
  70.
  71. He looks at the clock on his bedside table.
  72.
  73. Jackson
  74. Shit! I’m gonna be late for school!
  75.
  76. The player has control now, and can walk around. A song plays in the background.
  77.
  78. Things the player can look at (Jackson’s room)
  79. Things Jackson will say
  80. Photo of Jackson and his brother
  81. Me and Alex. (sigh)
  82. Shelf with books
  83. ‘The Americans,’ ‘Sophomore Science,’ and ‘Psycho’ by Robert Bloch. Strange library.
  84. Drawer filled with random junk.
  85. Why do I keep this? I may never know.
  86. Stereo
  87. Can’t get to sleep without my music. I wouldn’t be the same if I didn’t have it.
  88. Beanbag
  89. God, this is old. Look at all the stitches. But I like to sit there when I read. Something about it is comforting.
  90.
  91.
  92. The player must get some clothes on from the wardrobe to be able to leave the bedroom.
  93.
  94. The player goes around a rather small apartment -about the size of a Blackwell classroom- picking up various things for school (brushing teeth, grabbing money for lunch) and exploring his apartment.
  95.
  96. Things the player can look at (Kitchen, Bathroom, Living Room)
  97. Things Jackson will say
  98. Couch (two seater, living room)
  99. It’s not much, but it was free at a garage sale. What can I say? I like free things.
  100. Pantry (Kitchen)
  101. Ugh. I’m going to have to go grocery shopping soon.
  102. Fridge (Kitchen)
  103. This was a cheap fridge, thank God. Why are fridges so damn expensive? Somewhere, a fridge has put someone out of home.
  104. Pictures (living room)
  105.
  106.
  107. Movies, Games (living room)
  108. (Game: What if?) Man, this was one weird ass game. I don’t know anyone that says hella.
  109. + More things
  110.
  111.
  112.
  113. The player leaves through the garage door and gets in the car, bringing on the title/opening credits of the game as Jackson drives through the aesthetically pleasing fictional town of (?), very close to Seattle, Washington.
  114.
  115.
  116.
  117. EPISODE 1, Chapter 3, School Campus
  118. Jackson arrives at school.
  119.
  120. The player exits the car into the parking lot and starts walking towards the school entrance.
  121.
  122.
  123. Jackson
  124. I have 5 minutes to get to class.
  125.
  126. The player is stopped at the gate by a 17-year-old, Aiden Samuels, who is up against the front gate, folding his arms. Jackson tries to avoid him.
  127.
  128. Aiden
  129. Jackson-- Jack- C’mon, I just want to talk.
  130.
  131. Jackson
  132. Stop, Aiden.
  133.
  134.
  135. Aiden
  136. I just want to talk to you.
  137.
  138. Jackson continues to try and push past Aiden, but Aiden blocks him.
  139.
  140. Jackson
  141. Fine! Fuck! What do you want to know?
  142.
  143. Aiden
  144. I don't know, how about an explanation?
  145.
  146.
  147.
  148.
  149.
  150. (Dialogue Option A: Explanation for what?)
  151.
  152. Jackson
  153. An explanation for what?
  154.
  155. Aiden
  156. Why have you been ignoring my texts?
  157.
  158. Jackson
  159. I haven't been.
  160.
  161.
  162. Aiden
  163. Bullshit. Tell me why.
  164.
  165. Jackson
  166. You really want to know? It’s because I don’t want to talk.
  167.
  168. Aiden
  169. Jack, I want to help.
  170.
  171. Jackson
  172. I know you do. But I’m not ready for it yet.
  173.
  174. Aiden
  175. Jack, wait--
  176. (Dialogue Option B: I don’t have time for this.)
  177.
  178. Jackson
  179. Aiden, I don't have time. I have class in 5 minutes.
  180.
  181. Aiden
  182. You do now. Why have you been ignoring my texts?
  183.
  184.
  185. Jackson
  186. Aiden, I’m not in the mood for this.
  187.
  188. Aiden
  189. I just want to help you.
  190.
  191. Jackson
  192. Don’t bother. It’s going to take a lot more than one person to help me.
  193.
  194.
  195.
  196.
  197. Jackson pushes through Aiden and goes through the gate, leaving for class.
  198. Fade to black.
  199.
  200.
  201.
  202. EPISODE 1, Chapter 4, Classroom
  203.
  204. The player enters a dark, empty school hallway. Everything is grey and unhappy. The player can look around at various lockers before going to Jackson’s own.
  205. Aiden texts Jackson, saying ‘I can’t fix this if you keep walking away.’ Jackson doesn’t reply.
  206.
  207. Jackson (therapy session)
  208. Aiden just didn’t understand.
  209.
  210. Opening Jackson’s locker will trigger a cutscene.
  211. The camera switches to a side angle of Jackson. He is in focus while the rest of the hallway is blurred. There is a figure standing at the end of the hallway. Jackson doesn’t notice.
  212. Jackson closes his locker, having all his books in his bag. He begins to walk to class, when he sees the figure. The camera focuses in on the figure for a few seconds. It’s Alex, Jackson’s brother.
  213.
  214.
  215.
  216. Jackson
  217. (Breathless) No…
  218.
  219. The figure leaves.
  220. Jackson closes his eyes, sighs and walks into class.
  221.
  222. Mr. Timothy
  223. Jackson Saley. Late...again.
  224.
  225. Jackson
  226. Sorry, Mr. Timothy.
  227.
  228. Mr. Timothy
  229. Sorry doesn’t cut it this time, Saley. I’m going to write you up.
  230.
  231. (Dialogue Option A: I don’t really care.)
  232.
  233. Jackson
  234. To be honest, I stopped giving a shit the thirtieth time you gave me a detention.
  235.
  236. The class “ooh’s”.
  237.
  238.
  239. Mr. Timothy
  240. Looks like it’ll have to be suspension this time, then.
  241.
  242. Jackson
  243. Good thinking, Mr. Timothy.
  244.
  245.
  246.
  247. (Dialogue Option B: Won’t happen again.)
  248.
  249.
  250. Jackson
  251. (sigh) It won’t happen again, sir.
  252.
  253.
  254.
  255. Mr. Timothy
  256. I bet it won't. Might have to suspend you if it does.
  257.
  258.
  259. Jackson
  260. Pssh.
  261.
  262.
  263.
  264. Jackson sits down at a desk, a couple of people staring at him.
  265.
  266. Mr. Timothy
  267. Anyway, as I was saying…
  268.
  269. Mr. Timothy's dialogue becomes muffled.
  270.
  271. A jock, Ben Shiring, taps Jackson on the shoulder from behind him.
  272.
  273. Ben
  274. Too busy crying over your boyfriend to come to school?
  275.
  276. Jackson
  277. No, I was too busy crying over the fact that your IQ won’t pass negative 60.
  278.
  279. The boy sitting next to Jackson puts his hand to his mouth and laughs quietly.
  280.
  281. Ben scowls and looks away.
  282.
  283. The player can look around the classroom.
  284.
  285. Things the player can look at (classroom)
  286. What Jackson will say about them
  287. The teacher.
  288. Maybe I should start calling Timothy chloroform. His voice has the same effect.
  289. The person sitting next to him.
  290. ‘Finn Jacobs. Not much I can say about him. He’s nice, he plays baseball, and talks about video games way too much.’
  291. The whiteboard.
  292. ‘Looking at this is like looking in a bowl of alphabet soup. Just a complete jumble of letters.’
  293. Jackson’s phone. Containing pictures of: Jackson and his father, a forest, a beach and a hospital.
  294. ‘I wish I could afford an actual camera. Until then I’m stuck with the photographical quality of a toaster. Still, some good memories looking at these.’
  295. More things
  296.
  297.
  298.
  299.
  300. After looking at Jackson’s phone, the same boy from the hallway has appeared behind the teacher.
  301.
  302. Jackson starts breathing heavily, causing the person sitting near him, Finn Jacobs, to say
  303.
  304. Finn Jacobs
  305. Dude, are you feeling alright?
  306.
  307. Finn puts his hand on Jackson's shoulder. Jackson panics and hits it away.
  308.
  309. Jackson
  310. Get the fuck off me!
  311.
  312. Jackson stands up and leaves the class. The teacher disapproves and tries to stop him, but lets him go.
  313.
  314. The player can move around.
  315.
  316. Jackson (therapy session)
  317. I had to go home or I was going to pass out.
  318.
  319. The player proceeds to run through the hallway, all the while Jackson hallucinates the young boy everywhere he looks.
  320.
  321. The player leaves the hallway and arrives back in the carpark. Looking in Jackson's car triggers a cutscene where he gets in the car, starts it up and drives away.
  322.
  323. The next scene opens with Jackson driving along a long road. He is still panicking, and breathing heavily.
  324.
  325. Jackson
  326. If I just get home, everything will be fine.
  327.
  328. Jackson starts to calm down a little.
  329.
  330. The young boy appears in the passenger seat, looking over his seat at the rear window of the car.
  331.
  332. Young Boy
  333. Where the fuck are we going?!
  334.
  335. Jackson stares at the boy, nearly crying. He's not looking at the road.
  336.
  337. The camera switches to the road where a little girl is chasing after a ball that is rolling along the road. The car is coming closer, but it's out of focus.
  338.
  339. The camera switches back to being in the car. Jackson is nearly having a panic attack, and is still hallucinating the boy.
  340.
  341. Young Boy
  342. Jack, what did you do?!
  343.
  344. Jackson looks back at the road to see the little girl a few feet away from the car.
  345.
  346. Jackson
  347. NO!
  348.
  349. Jackson holds out his arm.
  350. Everything moves in slow motion. The little girl lifts off the ground and starts flying away from the car.
  351. The camera moves to a side view of the car and the girl flying backwards.
  352.
  353. Suddenly, everything rewinds and the car reverses. The little girl and her ball arrive back in the middle of the road.
  354.
  355. Time moves in regular speed. Jackson freaks out, swerves the car around the girl and slams on the brakes. The car grinds to a screeching halt. The young boy in the car fades away.
  356.
  357. Jackson
  358. What the fuck?! What the FUCK just happened?!
  359.
  360. He immediately gets out of the car. The girl is sitting on the ground, dazed.
  361. Jackson runs up to her, kneels and puts his hands on her shoulders.
  362.
  363. Jackson
  364. Are-are you okay?!
  365.
  366. Little girl
  367. I'm okay. My knee hurts.
  368.
  369. Jackson lets go of her shoulders and sighs a sigh of relief.
  370.
  371. Jackson
  372. Just make sure to look where you're going next time, okay?
  373.
  374. He stands up.
  375.
  376. Little girl
  377. Okay, mister.
  378.
  379. She stands up, grabs her ball and goes back inside.
  380.
  381. Jackson puts his hand on his forehead.
  382.
  383. Jackson's thoughts
  384. I... I hit the girl...but then...she’s okay. Either I’m going insane...or I just rewound time.
  385.
  386. The player moves Jackson back into the car. Jackson drives back to his apartment.
  387.
  388. Jackson enters his apartment, and rushes to the kitchen sink. He vomits.
  389.
  390. He stands up, grabs his phone out of his pocket and calls Aiden.
  391.
  392. Jackson
  393. Aiden, I think I’m going insane.
  394.
  395. Aiden (over phone)
  396. What--
  397.
  398. Jackson
  399. Just come over!
  400.
  401. Jackson hangs up before Aiden can say anything.
  402.
  403.
  404.
  405. EPISODE 1, Chapter 5, Dr. Andrews’ Office
  406.
  407. Dr Andrews.
  408. You rewound time?
  409.
  410. Jackson
  411. Do you not believe me?
  412.
  413. Dr. Andrews
  414. I think you’re telling the truth. But I think there’s something more to what you’re telling me.
  415.
  416. Jackson
  417. What do you think that is?
  418.
  419. Dr. Andrews
  420. Maybe rewinding time was something you made up to cope with something you did?
  421.
  422. (Option A: Hitting a little girl?)
  423.
  424. Jackson
  425. You mean hitting a little girl? No. You can go to her house. She’s alive.
  426. (Option B: What do you think I did?)
  427.
  428. Jackson
  429. What do I need to cope with?
  430.
  431. Dr. Andrews
  432. The girl you hit with your car.
  433.
  434. Jackson
  435. No. She’s alive. She’s probably at her house right now.
  436.
  437.
  438.
  439.
  440.
  441.
  442.
  443.
  444.
  445. Jackson
  446. I didn’t create this to cope with anything. I didn’t create this at all. It just happened.
  447.
  448.
  449.
  450.
  451.
  452.
  453.
  454.
  455.
  456.
  457. EPISODE 1, Chapter 6, Jackson’s Apartment
  458.
  459. Jackson opens his apartment door. Aiden is standing outside.
  460.
  461. Jackson
  462. I have to show you something.
  463.
  464. Aiden
  465. Wait, Jack--
  466.
  467. Jackson
  468. Just--come inside!
  469.
  470. Aiden walks in. Jackson gestures to Aiden to sit on the couch.
  471.
  472. Jackson stands in front of Aiden.
  473.
  474. Jackson
  475. Okay, you’re going to think I’m completely crazy.
  476.
  477.
  478. Aiden
  479. I already do. Just tell me what’s up.
  480.
  481.
  482. (Dialogue Option A: I can rewind time.)
  483.
  484. Jackson
  485. (inhale) Okay...okay...I think I can rewind time.
  486.
  487. Aiden
  488. Jack.
  489.
  490. Jackson
  491. I’m serious.
  492.
  493. Aiden
  494. Jack...
  495.
  496. Jackson
  497. Aiden. Listen to me. I’m serious.
  498.
  499. Aiden
  500. Fine.
  501.
  502. Jackson
  503. ...Something happened to me today. I left class, because...I didn’t feel that great. I got in the car, and I was distracted, and I hit this little girl.
  504.
  505.
  506. (Dialogue Option B: I hit a little girl.)
  507.
  508. Jackson
  509. I hit a little girl with my car.
  510.
  511. There’s a long pause.
  512.
  513. Aiden
  514. (sarcastic) Your sense of humour is impeccable.
  515.
  516. Jackson
  517. I’m not joking. I started...getting sick, so I got in the car and left school. I got distracted and I hit a little girl.
  518.
  519.
  520.
  521.
  522.
  523.
  524. Aiden
  525. Wait, what?
  526.
  527.
  528. Jackson
  529. But then she was okay. In a few seconds, I was back before I hit her and I managed to swerve away to avoid hitting her.
  530.
  531. Aiden
  532. Jack. Be honest. Are you high?
  533.
  534. Jackson
  535. No! ...Maybe a little. I don’t know. But I know this is real. The little girl, she’s okay.
  536.
  537. Aiden
  538. You’re high, aren’t you?
  539.
  540. Jackson
  541. I will prove it to you.
  542.
  543. Aiden
  544. And how exactly are you going to prove that?
  545.
  546. A car alarm goes off on the street next to the window.
  547.
  548. Jackson’s Thoughts
  549. Yes! That’s it!
  550.
  551. Jackson checks outside, and sees a car’s lights blaring, then walks back to Aiden.
  552.
  553. Aiden
  554. Is that my car?
  555.
  556.
  557. Jackson’s Thoughts
  558. Okay. I can do this. How did I do it?
  559.
  560. Jackson holds his arm out.
  561.
  562. Jackson’s Thoughts
  563. Right. And then--
  564.
  565. A rewind prompt comes up for the player.
  566.
  567. The player rewinds. Jackson stumbles a little.
  568.
  569.
  570. Jackson
  571. Shit! Oh my God. Okay. Aiden. In a few seconds, your car alarm outside will ring.
  572.
  573. Aiden
  574. How would you--?
  575.
  576. Jackson
  577. Shh.
  578.
  579. The car alarm rings.
  580.
  581. Jackson’s Thoughts
  582. It worked!
  583.
  584. Aiden
  585. What--did someone hit my car?
  586.
  587. Jackson
  588. Did you not JUST SEE I predicted the future?
  589.
  590. Aiden
  591. Major coincidence. You don’t seriously believe you can rewind time, do you?
  592.
  593. Jackson
  594. Okay, Negative Nancy, fine. Tell me...something you’ve never told me before.
  595.
  596. Aiden
  597. You’re a dick.
  598.
  599. Jackson
  600. Ha ha. You’ve definitely told me that before.
  601.
  602. Aiden
  603. Hm...okay, okay...How about the time you said a heap of your money was missing, and I told you I didn't take it? I spent it on clothes for my dog.
  604.
  605.
  606. Jackson
  607. You what? Asshole. That was three hundred dollars! I had to work overtime because of you!
  608.
  609. Aiden laughs loudly.
  610.
  611. A prompt to rewind comes up.
  612.
  613. Jackson’s Thoughts
  614. What a dick.
  615.
  616. The player rewinds, and talks to Aiden.
  617.
  618. Jackson
  619. You spent my fucking money on clothes for your dog.
  620.
  621. Aiden
  622. Huh. Holy shit.
  623.
  624. Jackson
  625. Do you believe me yet?
  626.
  627.
  628.
  629. Aiden
  630. I’m not sure yet. This is still a little too coincidental. You can’t expect me to believe that you can rewind time this easily.
  631.
  632. Jackson
  633. Oh, my GOD. What else do I have to do?!
  634.
  635. Aiden
  636. Something that will make me believe you without a doubt.
  637.
  638. A prompt comes up.
  639. ‘When you rewind, you can move ahead of time to “teleport” yourself.’
  640.
  641. The player can either sit down on the couch next to Aiden, or go into another room and then rewind.
  642.
  643.
  644. (If the player rewound after sitting on the couch)
  645.
  646. Aiden
  647. What the FUCK?!
  648.
  649. Jackson laughs loudly.
  650.
  651.
  652. Aiden
  653. Holy shit! That was fucking cool! Okay, okay, I believe you!
  654.
  655. Jackson
  656. (laughing) Fucking finally!
  657. (If the player walked into another room and then rewound)
  658.
  659. Aiden
  660. Jack? (quietly) Where did he go? Man, I must be high as fuck.
  661.
  662. Jackson walks into the room
  663.
  664. Aiden
  665. What the FUCK?
  666.
  667. Jackson laughs loudly.
  668.
  669. Aiden
  670. Holy shit! That was fucking cool! Okay, okay, I believe you!
  671.
  672. Jackson
  673. (laughing) Fucking finally!
  674.
  675.
  676.
  677.
  678. Jackson
  679. (Jackson’s laughing dies down, and he becomes serious) Do you get why I’m freaking out, then?
  680.
  681. Aiden
  682. ...Oh my God. You hit a little girl.
  683.
  684. Jackson
  685. Yes, I did! But then I spoke to her, and she-she just stood up and left. She was fine...and it’s totally fucking with me.
  686.
  687. Aiden
  688. This is...totally weird.
  689.
  690. Jackson
  691. …’Weird’? I hit a six-year-old girl with my fucking car and all you can say is ‘weird’?
  692.
  693. Aiden
  694. Jesus, calm the fuck down. Look at what you can do with this power! Look at what you could do!
  695.
  696. Jackson
  697. Here we go. It is only for emergencies. We are not doing anything drastic. I get a fuckin’ migraine whenever I use it.
  698.
  699. Aiden
  700. You can rewind time and you’re complaining about getting a little headache when you use it? Pussy.
  701.
  702. Jackson
  703. Fuck off. Besides, what would I even use it for? I can’t even rewind that far.
  704.
  705. Aiden
  706. You can use it to help me.
  707.
  708. Jackson
  709. (laughs) Oh yeah? How would I do that?
  710.
  711. Aiden
  712. (exhales) Get my Dad back into rehab.
  713.
  714. Jackson
  715. What? After a week?
  716.
  717. Aiden
  718. Yep. He just left. He said that ‘no one cared anyway’.
  719.
  720. Jackson
  721. Shit.
  722.
  723. Aiden
  724. Yeah. He’s back at home, and someone needs to take care of him in case he overdoses.
  725.
  726. Jackson
  727. Why didn’t you tell me before?
  728.
  729. Aiden
  730. You have enough on your plate already, I didn’t want to add to it.
  731.
  732. Jackson
  733. No, don’t give me that bullshit. I’m here to help you.
  734.
  735. Aiden
  736. Thanks, Jack.
  737.
  738. There’s a few seconds of pause. Aiden rubs the back of his head; Jack looks at the ground.
  739.
  740. Jackson
  741. Uh-yeah. Sure. It’s fine.
  742.
  743. There’s an even longer pause.
  744.
  745. Jackson
  746. I have to tell you something.
  747.
  748. Aiden
  749. Uh oh. What’s that?
  750.
  751.
  752. Major Choice
  753.
  754. (Tell Aiden About Hallucinations)
  755.
  756. Jackson
  757. I’ve been seeing Alex again.
  758.
  759. Aiden
  760. Shit.
  761.
  762. Jackson
  763. I know...you told me to keep seeing Dr. Andrews, but...I couldn’t handle it. I couldn’t handle talking about him, or Sarah, or anything.
  764.
  765. Aiden
  766. It’s supposed to help you, Jack. It’ll make you better.
  767.
  768. Jackson
  769. I can’t.
  770.
  771. Aiden
  772. Okay. I guess I can’t force you to do anything…
  773. Shit, looks like we both have problems.
  774.
  775.
  776. Jackson
  777. Looks like we do.
  778.
  779.
  780. Major Choice
  781.
  782. (Don’t Tell Aiden About Hallucinations)
  783.
  784. Jackson
  785. Uh, never mind. It’s not important.
  786.
  787. Aiden
  788. Clearly it is. But okay.
  789.
  790. This action will have consequences…
  791.
  792. Aiden
  793. Oh, fuck. I gotta get back, it’s getting kind of late. Gotta take care of Dad.
  794.
  795. Jackson
  796. Okay.
  797.
  798. The camera cuts to them both at the front door.
  799.
  800. Aiden
  801. Take care of yourself, alright?
  802.
  803. Jackson
  804. I’ll try.
  805.
  806. Aiden pats Jackson’s shoulder.
  807.
  808. Aiden
  809. Don’t kill too many people with your rewind, okay? And stay off the weed for a while.
  810.
  811. Jackson laughs.
  812.
  813. Jackson
  814. Shut up, you got me into it.
  815.
  816. Aiden laughs, and then leaves. Jackson closes the door.
  817.
  818. He sighs.
  819.
  820.
  821. Jackson
  822. Why are you the way you are, Jack?
  823.
  824. Jackson walks towards the couch. Suddenly, his nose starts bleeding.
  825.
  826. Jackson
  827. Ow. What the fuck?
  828.
  829. Jackson presses a hand against his head.
  830.
  831. Jackson
  832. Shit…
  833.
  834. Jackson passes out.
  835.
  836. EPISODE 1, Chapter 7, Dr. Andrews’ Office
  837.
  838. Jackson
  839. I discovered later that migraines would be a problem.
  840.
  841. Jackson leans back in his chair.
  842.
  843. Dr. Andrews
  844. I think we should talk about your hallucinations.
  845.
  846. Jackson cracks his neck.
  847.
  848. Jackson
  849. What about them?
  850.
  851. Dr. Andrews
  852. Where do they stem from?
  853.
  854. Jackson looks away.
  855.
  856.
  857.

  864.
  865. Jackson walks over to Alex.
  866.
  867. Jackson
  868. Sure, what’s up?
  869.
  870. Alex
  871. I have this shitty assignment I have to do. I’ve been skipping Math for weeks.
  872.
  873.
  874. (Dialogue Option A: What did I tell you about that?
  875.
  876. Jackson
  877. What did I tell you about skipping class? (laugh) You’re 15 now, you can’t keep slacking off. It’ll go on your school record.
  878.
  879. Alex laughs.
  880.
  881. Alex
  882. Am I going to get help, or will you continue to lecture me?
  883. (Dialogue Option B: Learning from me?)
  884.
  885. Jackson
  886. Learning from your brother, hey? Good man.
  887.
  888.
  889.
  890. Jackson sits down.
  891.
  892. Jackson
  893. What do you need?
  894.
  895. Alex breathes deeply.
  896.
  897. Alex
  898. ‘If 3x-y=12, what is the value of 8x divided by 2y?
  899.
  900.
  901. Jackson
  902. Shit. I didn’t think it would be that hard. Lemme look at the question.
  903.
  904. Jackson looks at Alex’s homework.
  905.
  906. Jackson
  907. Okay, well we can start off by--
  908.
  909. A woman barges in through the front, with a guy on her arm. She is kissing him intensely.
  910. Jackson rolls his eyes and sits back in his chair.
  911.
  912.
  913. Jackson
  914. Another one, Sarah?
  915.
  916. The woman stops kissing the man and glares at Jackson.
  917.
  918. Jackson
  919. That’s the fifth one this week, isn’t it? You making them in a factory?
  920.
  921. The woman stumbles towards Jackson.
  922.
  923. Sarah
  924. You listen here, motherfucker.
  925. Sarah points her finger at Jackson.
  926. At least someone here cares about me. Can’t say the same for you.

  935.
  936. Alex
  937. Hey!
  938.
  939. Jackson
  940. Don’t, Alex. I’m fine.
  941.
  942. Alex sits down. Jackson rubs his face in frustration.
  943. Dialogue Option B: He doesn’t care about you.
  944.
  945. Jackson
  946. He doesn’t care about you, Sarah. None of them do.
  947.
  948. Sarah
  949. You fucking--!
  950.
  951. Sarah slaps Jackson across the face.
  952.
  953. Alex stands up.
  954. Alex
  955. Hey!
  956. Jackson
  957. Don’t, Alex. I’m fine.
  958.
  959. Alex sits down. Jackson rubs his face in frustration.
  960.
  961.
  962. Sarah straightens herself up.
  963.
  964. Sarah
  965. You’re just like your father. A mess of a man.
  966.
  967.
  968. Alex
  969. I don’t quite think you’re one to talk about messes.
  970.
  971. Sarah cranes her head towards Alex.
  972.
  973. Sarah
  974. Taking a leaf from your brother’s book, now, huh?! Don’t worry, we’ll knock that out of you.
  975. Matt, help me with this.
  976.
  977. Sarah and her boyfriend grab hold of Alex.
  978.
  979.

  993.
  994. Jackson
  995. Shit. I was out for a while.
  996.
  997. Jackson stands up. He can walk around the apartment, but there’s nothing new to explore, except on the couch. Aiden’s wallet is lying on it. The player can leave the apartment whenever they like.
  998.
  999. Jackson
1000. Oh shit. Aiden left his wallet.
  1001.

  1011. Dr. Andrews’ Psychiatrist Card
1012. It’s good to see that someone cares.

  1019.
  1020. Jackson’s Thoughts
1021. All I have to do is go to my locker. I have a few minutes before class starts, though. I can talk to my friends.
  1022.
1023. Most of the people are static, but there are a few people that the player can converse with.
  1024.
1025. The player can leave this area at any time, there is no obligation to be there, other than conversations.
  1026.
  1027. People Outside
1028. What Jackson says when he looks at them.
  1029. Finn Jacobs
1030. I feel really bad about what I said to him yesterday. Maybe I should apologize.
  1031. Aaron Greyson
1032. I’ve known Aaron since Elementary School. I’ve also known he’s been a dick since then. Nice to know some things never change.
  1033. Danielle Porter
1034. I don’t know Danielle very much. From the limited interaction I’ve had with her she’s definitely not a bad person. She smokes a lot, though.
  1035. Lizzie Porter
1036. I’ve never actually met Lizzie. She has a lot of friends, and goes to a lot of parties.
  1037. Sophie Wright
1038. (laughs) Sophie. She was my ‘girlfriend’ in Elementary School. Man, everyone thought I was so cool. It’s basically the opposite now.

  1050. Jackson.
  1051.
  1052. Jackson
1053. Look, I’m sorry about yesterday. I wasn’t feeling that great.
  1054.
  1055. Finn
1056. Clearly. You looked pretty fucked up.
  1057.
  1058. Jackson laughs.
  1059.
  1060. Jackson
  1061. Yep, thanks.
  1062.

  1077.
  1078. Jackson
  1079. Definitely could be better.
  1080.
  1081. Finn
  1082. That’s no good.
  1083.
  1084.
  1085. Finn
1086. Listen, I know things are hard on you at the moment, but it will get better.
  1087.
  1088. Jackson looks away.
  1089.
  1090. Jackson
  1091. Right.
  1092.
  1093. Finn
1094. I’m serious. It will. Mom died 6 months ago, and I’m virtually fine now. You will be too.

  1096. Jackson
  1097. Thanks, Finn.
  1098. Aaron Greyson

  1100. Hey, Aaron.
  1101.
  1102. Aaron
1103. Heyyy! Haven’t spoken to you in a while, dude! How are you?
  1104.
  1105. Jackson
  1106. Yeah...yeah, I’m good. What about you?
  1107.
  1108. Aaron
1109. I’m great, dude! You know what day yesterday was, right?
  1110.
  1111. Jackson
1112. Oh, fuck! It was your birthday! I’m sorry!
  1113.
  1114.
  1115. Aaron
  1116. It’s okay, dude. I know you’re having a hard time.
  1117.
  1118. Jackson
  1119. (sigh) Does everyone know?
  1120.
  1121. Aaron
1122. Would it hurt if I said yes?
  1123.
  1124. Jackson
1125. (sigh) Just great. Anyway, how’s the big One Seven?
  1126.
  1127. Aaron
1128. Literally no different. It’s just a day.
  1129.
  1130.
  1131. (Option A: That’s cynical.)
  1132.
  1133. Jackson
  1134. That’s pretty cynical.
  1135.
  1136. Aaron
  1137. That’s just me, dude.
  1138. (Option B: True.)

  1162. Jackson
1163. Yeah. Can’t say for how long, though.
  1164.
  1165. Danielle
1166. Do you need any help with your homework?
  1167.
  1168. Jackson
1169. Ah, no. Not going to do it either way. I don’t think Mr. Timothy even cares at this point.
  1170.
  1171. Danielle
1172. No, I don’t think he ever does. By the way, a bunch of us are getting together for Aaron’s birthday this Friday. You down?

  1185.
  1186. (Option B: Don’t go.)
  1187.
  1188. Jackson
1189. Sorry, I can’t. Surprisingly, being off school so often is still really busy.
  1190.
  1191. Danielle

  1206.
  1207. Lizzie
  1208. Oh. You’re Aiden’s ex, right?
  1209.
  1210.
  1211. (Option A: Right.)
  1212.
  1213. Jackson
  1214. Uh, right.
  1215.
  1216. Lizzie
  1217. I don’t like Aiden.
  1218.
  1219. Jackson
  1220. Great.
  1221.
  1222.
  1223.
1224. (Option B: What about it?)
  1225.
  1226. Jackson
  1227. What about it?
  1228.
  1229. Lizzie
1230. Just wondering. Aiden’s an asshole.
  1231.
  1232. Jackson
  1233. Yeah, he can be.
  1234.
  1235.
  1236.
  1237. Lizzie
1238. He pushed me over in Elementary school.
  1239.
  1240. Jackson
1241. That seems an awfully long time to hold a grudge.
  1242.
  1243. Lizzie
1244. (mocking) ‘Oh, yes, awfully long, quite, quite.’
  1245.
  1246. Jackson
  1247. Excuse me?
  1248.
  1249. Lizzie
1250. I was making fun of what you said.
  1251.
  1252. Jackson
  1253. Clearly.
  1254.
  1255. Lizzie
1256. You’re cooler than Aiden. In, like, a weird kinda way.
  1257.
  1258. Jackson
1259. Thanks so much, Lizzie. I’m going to go now.
1260. Sophie Wright (doing photography work)
  1261. Jackson
  1262. Hey, Sophie.
  1263.
  1264. Sophie
  1265. Oh, what’s up, Jack?
  1266.
  1267. Jackson
1268. Um, not a lot, actually. Just killing time. What about you?
  1269.
  1270. Sophie
1271. Just, you know, hating photography.
  1272.
  1273. Jackson
  1274. Why’s that?
  1275.
  1276.
  1277. Sophie
1278. Our teacher is a bitch. She told us to find an artistic influence, and I chose Mark Jefferson as my influence, right? She sent me out of class.
  1279.
  1280.
  1281. (Option A: The criminal?)
  1282.
  1283. Jackson
1284. Wait, wait, wait. The criminal? That guy who drugged a bunch of girls a few years ago?
  1285.
  1286.
  1287. Sophie
1288. So what? I like his vision and his style.
  1289.
  1290. Jackson
1291. Sure. That’s fine. Just don’t go drugging innocent girls and taking pictures of them, okay?
  1292.
  1293.
  1294. Sophie
  1295. Don’t worry, Jack. I won’t.
  1296. (Option B: I don’t blame her.)
  1297.
  1298. Jackson
1299. I wouldn’t blame her. He and his accomplice killed and drugged a heap of innocent girls.
  1300.
  1301.
  1302. Sophie
  1303. I really don’t give a shit. I just like his photos.
  1304.
  1305. Jackson
1306. I’m just glad he’s in prison. He used to live around here.
  1307.
  1308. Sophie
1309. Yeah, I guess so. Anyway, I have to get this done. Talk to you later, Jack.
  1310.
  1311.
  1312.
1313. The player now has to leave the area.
  1314.
1315. The player enters the classroom hallway. There’s only a couple of people in there, but they are static. To progress, the player must go to Jackson’s locker and gather his things for class.
1316. Jackson opens his locker door, and starts gathering his things.
  1317.
1318. Ben bursts through the door. He walks towards.
  1319.
  1320. Ben
  1321. Jackson!
  1322.
  1323. Jackson
1324. Afternoon, Ben. How are you?
  1325. Ben
  1326. Great, Jack! Fantastic.
  1327.
  1328.
  1329. Jackson
1330. Sorry, Ben, Jack is a name only my friends can call me.
  1331.
  1332. Ben
  1333. Right, well--
  1334.
1335. Ben grabs Jackson by the shoulders and pushes him up against his locker.
  1336.
  1337. Ben
1338. I think we need to set some things straight.
  1339.
  1340.
  1341. Jackson
  1342. Oh yeah?
  1343.
  1344. Ben
1345. You talk shit about me again, you and Aiden are both dead.
  1346.
  1347. Jackson
  1348. Oh yeah?
  1349.
  1350.
  1351. Ben
1352. Yeah. And while you’re at it, tell your brother he’s better off where he is, the little shit.
  1353.
  1354. Jackson
  1355. ...Ex-fucking-cuse me?
  1356.
  1357. Ben
1358. You heard me. He’s better off dead.
  1359.
1360. Jackson scoffs. People are starting to walk into the hallway and are now watching.
  1361.
  1362. (Option A: Leave)
  1363.
  1364.
  1365. Jackson
1366. And people wonder why I skip school.
  1367.
  1368. Jackson walks away.
  1369.
  1370.
  1371. Ben
  1372. I bet he’s glad he’s dead!
  1373.
1374. The player can either leave or rewind and try the other option.
  1375.
  1376.
  1377. (Option B: Conflict)
  1378.
1379. Jackson clenches his fist. He takes a step towards Ben.
  1380.
  1381. Jackson
  1382. What was that? I didn’t quite--
  1383.
1384. Jackson punches Ben in the nose. Hard. Ben stumbles onto the ground.
  1385.
  1386. Jackson
1387. You listen here, fucktard. You say a word against my brother or Aiden ever again and I will make your fucking life a living hell.
  1388.
1389. Some of the other students whisper to each other. Jackson takes another step closer.
  1390.
  1391. Jackson
  1392. You got it, Benjamin?
1393. Ben stands up, dusts himself off and walks away.
  1394.
1395. A teacher walks in. Mr. Timothy.
  1396.
  1397. Jackson
  1398. Shit.
  1399.
  1400. Mr. Timothy
1401. My office, Saley. Now. (to other students, about Ben) Take him to the Nurse’s office.
  1402.
1403. The player can either go with Mr. Timothy or rewind and try the other option.
  1404.
  1405.
  1406. Mr. Timothy’s Office
  1407.
  1408. Mr. Timothy
  1409. Sit down, Saley.
  1410.
1411. Jackson slumps into his seat.
  1412.
  1413. Mr Timothy
1414. And just what was that?
  1415.
  1416. Jackson
1417. He was talking shit. About Alex.
  1418.
  1419. Mr. Timothy
1420. That’s no reason to break his...fucking nose.
  1421.
  1422. Jackson
1423. Yes it was, Uncle Tim.
  1424.
  1425. Tim sighs.
  1426.
  1427. Tim
1428. You know I’m going to have to suspend you for this.
  1429.
1430. Jackson sinks even more into his seat.
  1431.
  1432. Jackson
1433. Fine. Can this one not go on my record?
  1434.
  1435. Tim
1436. Not how it works, Jack.
  1437.
1438. Jackson stands up, and walks to the door.
  1439.
  1440. Tim
  1441. Oh, and Jack?
  1442.
  1443. Jackson
  1444. Yeah, Tim?
  1445.
  1446. Tim
1447. You seem to be doing well lately.
  1448.
  1449. Jackson
  1450. At the moment.
  1451.
  1452. Jackson leaves.
  1453.
  1454.
  1455.
1456. This action will have consequences...
  1457.
1458. Jackson walks to his car.
  1459.
1460. He sighs, and then leans up against it. He squints, as if trying to stop himself from crying.
  1461.
1462. Then he gets a call from Aiden. The suddenness scares Jackson.
  1463.
  1464. Jackson picks up.
  1465.
  1466. Jackson
  1467. (sigh) yeah?
  1468.
  1469. Aiden
1470. Meet me at Dad’s. I’m moving out.
  1471.
  1472. Jackson
1473. What happened to having someone take care of him?
  1474.
  1475. Aiden
1476. You’ll understand when you see me.
  1477.
  1478. Aiden hangs up.
  1479.
1480. Jackson gets in his car and drives off.
  1481.
  1482.
  1483. EPISODE 1, Chapter 12
  1484.
  1485. Jackson arrives at Aiden’s Dad’s house.
  1486.
1487. He gets out of the car and sees Aiden sitting against the front door. Aiden looks up, and the player/Jackson can see that he has a black eye, multiple scratches and cuts across his face. He’s bleeding.
  1488.
  1489.
  1490. Jackson
1491. Oh my God! What happened?
  1492.
1493. Jackson runs over to Aiden.
  1494.
  1495. Aiden
1496. I hid Dad’s bath salts from him, and then he discovered kitchen knives can be used on people too.
  1497.
  1498. Jackson
1499. Holy shit. We have to get you to a hospital.
  1500.
  1501. Aiden
1502. Don’t. I’m fine. I just want to get my stuff and leave before Dad gets back.
  1503.
  1504. Jackson
  1505. Okay, sure.
  1506.
1507. They go inside. There is mess everywhere.
  1508.
  1509. Jackson
1510. Damn. How did you live here?
  1511.
  1512. Aiden
1513. Why do you think I’m moving out?
  1514.
1515. The player now has control, and can look at several things.
  1516.
  1517.
1518. Things Jackson can look at
1519. What he will say about them
  1520. Living Room

1526. Here’s Aiden’s Mom and Dad. They looked so happy here. I can tell why Aiden’s dad is upset.

1528. I’m not sure I want to know what that is.
1529. Coffee Table drawer (containing a game called The Dead that Walk)
1530. Ha. I remember this game. It made me cry.
1531. Photo of Aiden when he was 10

  1535.
  1536. Medication
1537. So they gave Aiden’s Dad drugs for his drug addiction. Okay.
  1538. Toothbrush
1539. This completely clean one is obviously Aiden’s Dad’s. Because he never uses it.
  1540. Shampoo
1541. I always used to tease Aiden for using women’s shampoo. But it makes his hair look so shiny.
  1542. Junk
1543. And there’s even old clothes and food in the bathroom. Awesome.
  1544. Aiden’s Room
  1545.
  1546.
  1547. Aiden’s trophies

1561. It’s empty. Aiden always had a habit of late night bowls of cereal.
  1562. Fridge (magnets, pictures, etc.)
1563. Easy with the magnets there. Throw a few out, at least.
  1564. Laundry
  1565.
  1566.
  1567. Gun rack
  1568. Handguns, rifles, grenades...Jesus.
  1569.
  1570. Jackson
1571. Hey, Aiden! Why does your Dad have so many guns?!
  1572.
  1573. Aiden
1574. He was born in Georgia. Of course he’s going to have a thousand guns.
  1575. + More things
  1576.
  1577.
  1578.
1579. Aiden is outside. To progress, the player must meet him in the backyard.
1580. Aiden’s dog is outside. He’s a Samoyed wearing a shark outfit. Aiden has a bag full of his belongings next to him.
  1581.
  1582. Aiden
1583. (to dog) Look at you! Look at you in your little shark costume!
  1584.
  1585.
  1586. Jackson
1587. So, this is what you spent my money on.
  1588.
  1589.
  1590. Aiden
1591. Wasn’t it worth it? Look at him!
  1592.
1593. The dog wags his tail and sticks his tongue out.
  1594.
  1595. Jackson
  1596. (smiling) Totally.
  1597.
  1598. Aiden
1599. I think I want to take him. He’s not safe with Dad.
  1600.
  1601. Jackson
1602. My apartment doesn’t allow dogs.
  1603.
  1604. Aiden
1605. So? We can hide him.
  1606.
  1607. Jackson
  1608. Aiden, I can’t…
  1609.
  1610. Aiden
1611. I can’t give him away, he’s my baby. Look at him. He’s too cute to give away.
  1612.
  1613.
  1614. Option A: Take Dog
1615. Option B: Give Him Away
  1616. Jackson
  1617. Fine, we’ll take him.
  1618.
  1619. Aiden
1620. Yes! (to dog) Did you hear that, Donut? We get to keep you!
  1621.
  1622. Jackson
  1623. You named him Donut?
  1624. Aiden
1625. Everyone loves donuts. Just like everyone loves this dog.
  1626.
1627. Aiden plays with Donut for a few seconds. Donut licks him. Aiden, Jackson and Donut go inside.
  1628.
  1629. Aiden
1630. (to Donut) Look at you! You’re so--
  1631. Jackson
1632. Aiden, I know you love him, but we can’t have him.
  1633.
  1634. Aiden
  1635. But--
  1636.
  1637. Jackson
1638. I don’t have the money for a dog We’ll give him to a nice family that don’t do bath salts. He’ll be fine.
  1639.
  1640. Aiden
  1641. Fine. Asshole.
  1642.
1643. Aiden, Jackson and Donut go inside.
  1644.
  1645. Jackson
  1646. Don’t be like that.
  1647.
  1648. Aiden
1649. No, I will! I have to give away my dog--
  1650.
  1651.
1652. Aiden’s Dad is standing at the front door.
  1653.
  1654. Aiden
  1655. Uh--Hi...Dad.
  1656.
  1657. Aiden’s Dad
1658. Who the fuck is this?
  1659.
  1660. Jackson
  1661. Um--I’m Jack-Jackson. Aiden’s...friend.
  1662.
  1663.
  1664. Aiden’s Dad
1665. I didn’t realize you had any of those, Aiden.
  1666.
  1667. He laughs loudly.
  1668.
  1669. Aiden
  1670. We were just leaving.
  1671.
1672. Aiden picks up his bag and Donut.
  1673.
  1674. Aiden’s Dad
  1675. What’s with the bag?
  1676.
1677. Jackson looks fearfully at Aiden.
  1678.
  1679. Aiden’s Dad
1680. Are you taking the dog…?
  1681.
  1682. Aiden
  1683. Yeah.
  1684.
  1685. Aiden’s Dad
  1686. My...dog?
  1687.
  1688.
  1689. Aiden
1690. He’s not safe with you.
  1691.
  1692. Aiden’s Dad
  1693. And why is that?
  1694.
  1695. Aiden glances at Jackson.
  1696.
  1697. Aiden
  1698. Have you been…
  1699.
  1700. Aiden’s Dad
1701. Yeah. It makes me feel better.
  1702.
  1703. Jackson
1704. So, the rehab didn’t do anything?
  1705.
1706. Aiden gives a warning look towards Jackson.
  1707.
1708. Aiden’s Dad starts walking towards Jackson. Jackson steps back.
  1709.
  1710. Jackson
  1711. Sir, I didn’t--
  1712.
  1713. Aiden
  1714. Dad, stop!
  1715.
  1716. Aiden’s Dad
1717. Shut up! Shut the fuck up!
  1718.
1719. Aiden’s Dad pushes Aiden onto the table and grabs a gun out of his back pocket. He aims it at Aiden’s head. The screen freezes before anything happens, and the player must rewind and change something. After the rewind, the player can grab some of the junk around nearby and throw it at Aiden’s Dad. When they do this, Aiden’s dad drops the gun accidentally and then charges at Jackson.
  1720.
1721. Jackson holds his hand out to rewind, but Aiden’s Dad runs into him at full force, pushing him into the wall.
1722. Jackson falls down, his back up against the wall. He becomes disorientated and his vision blurs. Aiden’s Dad puts his hands around Jackson’s neck.
1723. He closes his hands more and more, and Jackson can breathe less and less. Jackson almost passes out, when--BANG. Aiden’s Dad falls in slow motion to the ground.
1724. Aiden has shot him in the head.
  1725.
1726. Jackson’s ears are ringing and his field of vision is getting smaller.
  1727.
1728. Jackson has passed out, unable to rewind. Aiden’s heavy breathing echoes as the screen goes black.
  1729.
  1730. END.
