Silas - portal prompt

Silas hissed at the sight of the portal, he crossed his arms and turned his back to it, refusing to acknowledge it further. " I'm not gonna through that thing! " he hissed in response, a co worker stared at him in confusion who they asked him " why not? What? You are scared of them? " Silas stuck his tongue out slightly as he turned his head a bit towards his co worker " yeah I'm scared of them, I hate them too, that thing almost killed me, more than once. I prefer to walk, take a train or literally anything except go through one of these so called "portals", more like death traps waiting to claim their next victim! " he stuck his tongue out more before turning away again. The co worker stared at Silas unamused by his slightly immature behavior, they rolled their eyes and patted Silas's shoulder " fine, fine you big baby, you don't have to use the portal if you don't want to but you better get to work on time or you will be in trouble! Have fun on your very safe none portal journey, I will see you in the station, don't be late, later Silas. " the co worker waved to Silas before going through the portal and leaving him on his own, Silas didn't even get a chance to reply or say anything to his co worker before they left, he just sighed and started making his way past the portal area in this location, it was a decent sized building that held multiple portals that took you to service worker's work buildings. Fire fighters, Police, medical works and many more, no ordinary person was allowed in here without a special permit for obvious reason, Silas and his co worker were able to enter the building due to them having those special permits, the place was a hub for other things as well so Silas wasn't aware that his co worker was going to take him up to a portal, not like they knew his dislike to them beforehand.

Silas walked out of the building and stood near the entrance, he placed his chin in his hand and thought for a moment, he wasn't sure how to commute to work, should he take the train? The bus? Or should he order an "Uber" or whatever those services are called nowadays. He didn't really have time to think about it which frustrated him for a bit, he just sighed and started making his way towards the subway, he preferred to take the train then have to deal with a portal, his phone rang while he was making his way to the subway. Silas picked up his phone and answered, it was his co worker and they were taunting him about how they were already at the station and he was nowhere to be found, glared at his co worker like they were there with him before he responded to them " whatever dude, I'm on my way to the subway, it isn't far away and I should be there in about 15 minutes, I don't care how quick those things are, I'm not going in through one of them! " his co worker laughed while being on the other side of the phone " yeah yeah, keep telling yourself that, just get your ass over here, we have to start work soon, seems today is gonna be busy. " Silas was making fun of his co worker with his hands as he went down the stairs to the subway, making his way to the register and getting a ticket to the train that was leaving in 5 minutes " listen, I'm going to be there in 15 minutes as I said, just stop pestering me about the whole portal thing, I at least have a valid reason as to why i don't like them, if you have forgotten, I almost got killed so get off my ass about it! " he hissed at his co worker as they laughed more " alright, I'm heading off, I have to catch my train, have fun with the other guys at work without me " he ended the call as he continued to make his way to the docking station, his train was arriving at that current moment as he stepped over, waiting for it to stop so he could hop on and make his way to his job.

The train stopped slowly with a screeching noise coming from it, the doors opened with a hiss before he stepped in, the train arrived with no one inside so Silas had many options to where he could take a seat so he just sat right by the door and watched as passengers started filling in the train cart, it didn't take long for the place to be packed and for the train doors to hiss closed before it started to move. Silas just leaned back and relaxed, he all he had to do now was to wait until the train arrives at its next stop, he pulled out his phone and started scrolling through one of his apps, he was looking for something to listen to while he waited. The train ride wasn't going to be very long but he still wanted to keep himself busy especially that he didn't want to keep thinking about his portal incident, it bothered him a lot more than he would like to attempt. He just plugged his ear phones in his ears and picked shuffle, he didn't know what to pick so he shuffled through his current playlist, he just wanted something to pass the time until he was at work, he toned the train sounds as he listened to his music, zoning out completely until he heard a ding. The train was arriving to its first spot, Silas's stop, Silas put away his phone and his ear phones as the train slowed down to a stop, he stood up and headed to the door as it hissed opened again. He made his way out and started heading out of the subway, his station was basically right about the corner so he just continued his way until he arrived right.
