I've read different answers for this question throughout the posts, so I'm in doubt: when I use a URL shorten for my web 2.0 and then blast the shorten link, am I loosing a little bit of juice (for the sake of protecting my web 2.0) or gaining a little bit of juice (because URL shorten services may have very high authority domains)?

  17. Your 3rd party metrics (DA, DR etc) might get inflated by using 301 redirects from URL shorteners. However, people mainly use them as a buffer in an attempt to protect their websites or T1s when using aggressive links. It is said that you tend lose a little link juice when using a 301 redirect.

  22. Around 5-7 years ago this was actually a ranking strategy, create shortened url's for your posts and blast these directly with drummer, scrapebx or gsa, and they would rank extremely fast, although I doubt it still works

  31. Be wary that you won't protect anything with just a 301.
  32. The only way to protect from a blast is by tiering, which obviously, doesn't involve a 301.
  33. So, it's completely pointless to use shorteners, unless, you are trying to diversify your referrals, which is a different topic and doesn't have anything to do with blasting.

  38. You are building a nice 301 redirect to your site, plus you are giving some authority by spamming your shortlink. You should also build more backlinks and not only 301 redirects.
