- It all started the day I booted up a new session of Half-Life 2. There was a new mod I wanted to try called, A Brotastic Adventure. The screenshots looked sorta shitty, but I had heard that there was a chance of connecting to another player and the game would be affected. I had been watching Jolly Wancore's channel and he was playing it, it just looked so cool and fun, and you never know I might have a chance and meet with him in the game.
- The stream was on and the game was booted up, I was all ready to go. The game started off easily enough, a boring cutscene followed by some in game walking. It seemed this was all about a mansion that had been ransacked. My character was this homeless man with ripped clothes, all I had as a weapon was the broken bottle I started with. So far this did not seem like a Brotastic Adventure. The map was pretty creepy yet poorly made. The textures were glitched in a few spots but the ambience really put me on edge. Watching Jolly play it I thought he was merely jesting about the scariness like he usually does.
- About ten minutes into the map I realized it was an almost remake of the resident evil 1, and non of the spaces were big enough for me to start doing some cool tricks. I told myself that after ten more minutes I would switch to another map, since this one was just creepy and a replacement map. Another thing that bothered me was the seeming lack of partner. Jolly found one withing five minutes yet I didn't and I was fifteen minutes into the map. The chat was spamming for me to change games, and I was heavily tempted. Then suddenly, a partner appeared.
- My partner had the username, KiethTheBoer, and he was this tanned homeless man but instead of a broken bottle it seemed he had a gravity gun. Maybe this would actually become a tiny bit interesting. After Kieth joined the map seemed to change. Alot of rooms had enemies and puzzles combined now. I had never seen a map like this. After twenty-five minutes we finally found a puzzle we couldn't solve. So like a wuss I checked out JollyWangcore's video, but he hadn't released part two yet which is the part we were at. Jolly was streaming though and I decided to check it out.
- Imagine my shock to find out he was still playing this mod, and it seemed he was trapped in the same spot! His partner was standing still, what a loser. I went back to the game, I messaged my partner that we should go back and see if we missed anything. We came to the door only to find it locked. Suddenly a steam message popped up. "we are locked in here now, dont worry well find a way!!!" For some reason though the username was JollyWangcore instead of KiethTheBoer. I could barely contained my excitement on the stream, I made a small squeel then muted my mic. I invited him to join my discord, he sadly said no thanks. That he was better than me. He didn't have time for a small fry like me. My anger was heightened, I couldn't contain it, I smashed my headset to the ground. Then I looked at my monitor.
- He was just standing there trying to solve the problem, as if he was perfect. I despised him and his entire being. I got back to my computer chair and pretnded to help him. Then when we finally got it complete, I proceeded to stab him in the back with my bottle. I felt good. I felt powerful. I started yelling about how I was truly superior to him, how he was a failure and could barely complete a tiny bit scary mod without pissing his pants. It just felt good to kill him in the game, and each time he died I proceeded to continue untill he finally quit the game itself. I finally had won. I messaged him
- "DeSinc is best..."
