  1. [14:54] Moserah looked around the place, not speaking much as she followed after Kofe. It was pretty clear she was an outlander to this place and given her expression, she was a bit uncomfortable.
  2.
  3. "Yeah, to talk about the church... Looks less oppressive than it did, six years ago, huh."
  4. (Moserah Hayussuin)
  5. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  6.
  7. [14:54] Pericles Vitalis says, "Hm, do look after her."
  8. [14:56] Kofe shook his head. The constant reminder of everyone's eyes being on him and the insane amount of pressure that came from the tasks ahead, the planning, the courting— it all seemed to get to him at last.
  9.
  10. "I will. Obviously."
  11.
  12. He was a bit too flustered and lost in thought to even talk about what he and Moserah were there for.
  13. (Kofe)
  14. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  15.
  16. [14:59] Moserah wasn't informed, she wasn't clued in which caused her to autistically glare in paranoid fashion at Kofe. Was this some kind of inside joke? Was this a Osronan joke that Rhoynish cunts didn't get?
  17.
  18. "What are you two talking about?", being brash and upfront, Moserah speaks, a bit of her old vocal habits slipping out as the last two words sounded less refined and more stern and agitated.
  19.
  20. "Why do you look like a tomato?", the last part was directed at Kofe, "I am confused."
  21. (Moserah Hayussuin)
  22. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  23.
  24. [15:01] "Good, good."
  25.
  26. His smile grew. He definitely didn't expect one of his students and his past rhoynish guest to suddenly develop feelings for one another, a welcome change.
  27.
  28. But it seemed they had another matter to talk about, blue eyes shifting over towards the unfamiliar face at the other end of the table.
  29.
  30. "Nothing to worry about. I am Pericles, Stellus of the Faith. It's a pleasure to meet you."
  31.
  32. "So, what did you wish to talk to me about?"
  33. (Pericles Vitalis)
  34. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  35.
  36. [15:04] Kofe wasn't the type to lie. Moserah not being there when he made his little announcement was unfortunate, but he wouldn't hide it from her. She was the first one he thought about telling when it came to Ilburg's people, after all.
  37.
  38. "I got the permission to ask for the princess' hand in marriage."
  39.
  40. Simple. Straight to the point. Something that Moserah could understand and would likely be able to connect the dots to.
  41.
  42. "Anyway— Moss has more of the info about all of that."
  43.
  44. Clearly his mind was elsewhere.
  45. (Kofe)
  46. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  47.
  48. [15:09] Moserah spits out her cigarette in disbelief, her eyes going wide, her face distorted in shock, there had been no words that escaped her maw after the jaw dropped down; mouth clearly agape by now in what appeared to be.
  49.
  50. Wait, what?
  51.
  52. Without a doubt one could probably imagine Moserah saying something along the lines of, 'Bullshit, you're lying.'
  53.
  54. "What the fuck?", it was enough to disrupt Moserah's line of thought, "No-no-no-nah-nah-nah-nah, this has to be a joke right? This has to be a wind-up, there's no way that is true. You know what they did to our people, Kofe and still probably look down on us as if we're sub-human, lesser than they? Yeah?"
  55.
  56. There was a tinge of an Therian accent, given the Rhoynish had done a couple of years of medical studies within the mountain town, yet it clashed with her heritage, that peaked through here and there.
  57.
  58. "...Hrm-church-stuff. Yes, we're here to discuss church stuff because we're aware of what stance was taken and er- Fucking Hel' Kofe."
  59.
  60. Moserah was visibly and mentally caught off-guard and a huge chunk of her believed he was lying, that he was having a laugh, a bit of a rozzer with her infront of more friendly pale-faced Osronans.
  61.
  62. "I'm Moserah Hayussuin, former slave, I live freely now. And er- Uhm-give me a moment.", to let Moserah recover of course!
  63. (Moserah Hayussuin)
  64. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  65.
  66. [15:16] Any other time and amusement would of ran through his eyes, Moserah's outburst was sudden, and the way she reiterated words was truly an amusing sight.
  67.
  68. But, other words caused said amusement to die.
  69.
  70. "Not everyone in Osrona has such thoughts. People hold respect for the Rhoynish even within Osrona. There are plenty of rhoynish knights that hold the respect of the people."
  71.
  72. And then talk about the church's stance. He was glad the announcement had entered the ears of other's when he took over the position of Speaker of the Stars. It would hopefully cause tensions to die down between the Faith and those outside the walls of Osrona.
  73.
  74. It was a start.
  75.
  76. "Our stance, yes. The march on Illburg was a mistake, misinformation from others and a rash decision led to the 'inquisition' being called. I can only apologize for that, marching on lies."
  77.
  78. "Take your time Moserah Hayussuin. Gather your thoughts."
  79.
  80. Back to his feet, and other towards the corner to start to prepare at least something for the duo, a pot of tea soon formed from the few supplies that actually remained within his room.
  81.
  82. Pericles returned to the table, the filled pot of tea and three cups placed in front of the seats that were taken, casually pouring the beverage into the cups for the duo, and finally his own.
  83.
  84. "I am luckily free for awhile."
  85. (Pericles Vitalis)
  86. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  87.
  88. [15:19] The scolding, the outrage, the sudden shock of the news was something that Kofe knew would come, though not in such a manner. Yellow eyes fell upon hers before he gave out a smile. His next words would hopefully make Moserah quiet down a bit and focus on the matter at hand.
  89.
  90. "I wanted to marry her, she just happened to be a princess."
  91.
  92. A... simple enough explanation of why he seemed to be meddling so deep in the affairs of another town. Still, the young Rhoynish remained steadfast in his decision.
  93.
  94. "Penelope's all for it, too. I asked her beforehand."
  95.
  96. This wasn't even about the church's march or lack thereof anymore. At least not for Kofe.
  97. (Kofe)
  98. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  99.
  100. [15:28] "Right. Bah. You should have told me before this."
  101.
  102. Moserah was flustered, not because she gave a damn but rather what it could mean when it came down to the whole war situation and just things politically. Plus it was a bit of a out of the left field thing for Mos, here she was trying to drum up support for getting Ilburg recognised as an legitimate official state; it's own place, with it's own laws (if any) and so on.
  103.
  104. "Well."
  105.
  106. Where to begin now that she had managed to get over it; it was more shock than actual anger, Moserah wasn't one to impede the freedoms of another, even if they were an enemy, that wasn't in her ways.
  107.
  108. "Penny is not one for politics, she hates them.", Moserah explains to Pericles, "She would rather do war, take her enemies on upfront and not bother with mincing words and dancing with lies. She's quite angered with how Osrona and Myllenoris lied about Ilburg and this whole war, however, I have gathered from her expressions that she is not as mad at the church."
  109.
  110. "Mostly because you guys came clean, you admitted you were in the wrong and you stepped out of the conflict. But I'm not here to discuss rights or wrongs right now. Or to point fingers or direct blame, I personally couldn't care for that. Since there's more important things at stake."
  111.
  112. Moserah pauses for a second, eyes flickering over to Kofe and then Pericles; this moment taken to finalise her thoughts on the go.
  113.
  114. "What me and Kofe are here for, is to try to reach a middle ground of sorts. An understanding; Ilburg wants to be it's own thing, an actual settlement, it wants to be recognised officially. But there are reasons why our people turn to activities that Osrona would wage war upon us for."
  115.
  116. "We don't have any farmland and if Ilburg could sustain itself more as a community, it could move away from such activities or lessening them as a whole, maybe."
  117. (Moserah Hayussuin)
  118. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  119.
  120. [15:36] Pericles's eyes brightened up as Moserah began to speak. It seemed he wouldn't have to deal with politics completely if another too despised the idea of such matters.
  121.
  122. Perfect.
  123.
  124. A head nodded along towards Moserah's words, patientily listening to her words and not interrupting. Plenty to soak in for the Stellus, a quiet hum sounding out as an index-finger found its way against his cosmic-codex.
  125.
  126. "I have no issue with Illburg being recognized. I do have an issue with past attacks on the clergy members before these 'wars' were declared. Truthfully, I do not have the power to make a decision."
  127.
  128. "Not with recent plans to dissolve the Triumvirate and return power to the Petrakis bloodline, but. I can offer counsel to the King, and offer to join in on the meeting to give my opinion."
  129.
  130. A moment taken to reorganize thoughts by the Stellus, hand reaching forward to take a sip from his tea as he allowed his mind to roam, smile remaining curled on his face as the cup found itself back onto the table.
  131.
  132. And then he was speaking again.
  133.
  134. "Living in a desert would no doubt be harsh, farming conditions poor. I can understand your worries for feeding your family members and the citizens you watch over."
  135.
  136. "The King will have to make a decision. And, if you wish to be recognized, your raiding ways against the people of Osrona would have to end. We can think of other plans to ensure your people have a bountiful harvest."
  137. (Pericles Vitalis)
  138. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  139.
  140. [15:38] Moserah Hayussuin says, "I believe the new stance is that we don't attack those that aren't causing problems for us. Previously, the clergy was seen as an extension of Osrona's military might, hencewhy they weren't discriminated for, in regards to robberies."
  141. [15:39] Moserah Hayussuin says, "Most of the settlement was also, made up of runaways from the indentured servitude that wanted freedom. Like myself and my deceased parents."
  142. [15:39] Pericles Vitalis says, "I can understand why that connection would be made, but the Faith will not be joining in on any wars. Unless there's clear proof of occultic ties, or Elaide's bloodline."
  143. [15:39] Moserah Hayussuin says, "Mhm."
  144. [15:42] Kofe finally began speaking about the politics in place. It took him long enough.
  145.
  146. "Alice and I were talking about it when she— when we talked about whatever we should do should an alliance come. She found it in her duty, in a way, to try and provide food for Ilburg as well. The whole push coming from the church as well as our union to have Moss and I's home recognized and for some arrangement to be made for food to reach us without us having to steal would greatly improve the relationships that are there.
  147.
  148. I know Ilburg and Myllenoris aren't on great terms — mainly due to Asta not wanting to extend a hand — but I believe Osrona and Ilburg can... become allies."
  149.
  150. A pause, a gaze towards Pericles.
  151.
  152. "I think we can count on your honesty during that meeting when it'll come. Those can be part of the arrangement of my marriage, so that Alex doesn't look like an idiot just giving away food out of fear."
  153.
  154. He nodded, then looked at Moserah.
  155.
  156. "That's what I meant, Moss. When I talked about a... way that I had to help our cause? It just happened to align itself perfectly. Luck, really."
  157. (Kofe)
  158. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  159.
  160. [15:51] Whilst Moserah had arguably bad history with Osrona, due to her escape not being so wonderful and like that from a fantasy book; quite grim really, it was in the past and if there was one thing Kromm despised, it was those that held onto the past far too much unless the reward for revenge was greater than the regret and clinginess of the past that was associated with it.
  161.
  162. "For the most part, Ilburg was keeping to itself until these wars cropped up. But these wars have simply caused the settlement and the people within to evolve and reach out differently to the world around them.", in Moserah's eyes, banditry was no longer sustainable and in truth the Rhoynish could be a lot more than that, but only if they succeeded in cementing some degree of peace.
  163.
  164. "The attacks on the clergy were unfortunate but, that is in the past and I believe, most individuals within Ilburg agree provided the church isn't provoking or attacking us, that we should return the same courtesy.
  165.
  166. We did have one member of the church I believe come into Ilburg to antagonise us, we did not kill him but we did send him packing back home with a few bruises for his disrespect."
  167.
  168. Moserah turns her eyes to Kofe and nods slowly, if an agreement could be met then this meant that Moserah had less to fear about the world; she could live life to it's full potential than rather fearing her freedoms being potentially chopped away or having to fight a war that lacked soul.
  169.
  170. "Asta is certainly not willing to lend a hand, you are right about that Kofe. Our raiding ways however, I think could come to an end provided we have the means to self-sustain our settlement's people, but this is very much into the future."
  171.
  172. "Obviously with the war still being a thing, neither myself or Kofe can bring other members of the kin into understanding; if they're an enemy, they will be raided. I do not say this out of malice, it is simply the truth; an enemy is an enemy until they chose to no longer be an enemy or until they are defeated."
  173.
  174. "Make no mistake however, I'm very much with Kofe on this. Especially since Penny is giving us a lot of faith in our mission here to, you know, do something that she herself hates; diplomacy and politics, mostly thanks to Asta straining her patience and not being upfront."
  175. (Moserah Hayussuin)
  176. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  177.
  178. [16:00] Pericles's head slowly nodded. Food could be given to Illburg from the Faith in their time of need. Relations would no doubt at least move towards a more neutral-good standing.
  179.
  180. "That can be done, food can be transported, but. That would only be a temporary measure till we've secured a way for Illburg to have a permanent supply of food that they can self-sustain."
  181.
  182. "If you see the King before me, then do pass on that I would like to be at the meeting. No doubt I'll have to end up fending off the Lightbrigner's desire to gain more accomplishments."
  183.
  184. And that brought up a moment of pause, his eyes moving towards Kofe for a moment in silence. He wondered if the teenager had actually ran into the woman yet.
  185.
  186. She had been seemingly trying to break down his yesterday when the news was revealed, a tired sigh freely rang out from his lips. Another matter to worry on later.
  187.
  188. "These wars have only weakened Esshar as a whole. Barsburg could look to invade us once again at any moment. And so, if these wars can be put to an end I would gladly welcome such."
  189.
  190. "Asta is. Asta is another matter completely. I can only wish you luck when it comes to persuading the High Lady to cease their march."
  191.
  192. He didn't hold any faith in that change happening, not with information that filtered into his ears and the image he had of the woman that stood above the Teraphim.
  193.
  194. She was Serea, but a crystal lady.
  195.
  196. "I wonder if Penny would be willing to meet with me? Let her know that I too despise politics, and there would be no glib tongues involved. A straight forward conversation, where no miscommunication will cause our relations to sour once more."
  197. (Pericles Vitalis)
  198. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  199.
  200. [16:07] "I think she wouldn't mind meeting with you. She love conversations that aren't complicated and that go straight to the point. We'll tell her you wanna meet her." He said, only to address the other issues after.
  201.
  202. "Serea is either going to be completely against it out of hatred and bad memories or... completely for it if she seeks to get the most out of her daughter's marriage and relunctantly accepts that she isn't queen anymore and can't go against Alex's word. I don't know how that'll go; I've been avoiding her wrath."
  203.
  204. He was honest. He wasn't ready to deal with that just yet. His emotions were shaken from his lack of lute, too. That was the worst time.
  205.
  206. "I'll tell Alex you wanna be there for the meeting. I think the church still should have a say in it— Alice probably wants us united under the stars and all." A thought came, and a smile followed.
  207.
  208. "Hey... how's a wedding at night sound?"
  209.
  210. Oh boy.
  211. (Kofe)
  212. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  213.
  214. [16:10] Pericles Vitalis says, "A wedding at night would allow the Constellation to be seen even better. Alice would appreciate the thought, Kofe."
  215. [16:10] Kofe says, "That's what I thought."
  216. [16:14] "I think that will be a fine start. I also believe if the church was doing this, Myllenoris might back down or be more reluctant to continue their war efforts against Ilburg which might hopefully result in a ceasefire."
  217.
  218. Moserah didn't like politics, she didn't like diplomacy to a degree; something in her blood just made her boil and feel ashamed about being diplomatic like this. Yet at the same time, even if Rhoynish culture and their gods weren't wholesome approving of such things, it was a necessary evil in this day and age.
  219.
  220. "Yes, Kofe is right. Penny will probably enjoy a personal talk with you that is less about politics and just something upfront and personal. No way to bullshit if it's just one to one outside of a political environment."
  221.
  222. Leaning back, Moserah rolls her shoulders one after the other, adjusting her posture and getting slightly more situated as the conversation seemed to continue onwards, "Hm.", yet as soon as she was about to say something, the talk of marriage distracted her once more; maybe the Rhoynish wanted to meet the person that Kofe deemed as partner in life.
  223.
  224. But more to the point; it seemed they had pretty much touched upon all the bases within this dialogue, what more could be said about the situation?
  225.
  226. "I think we've got a pretty good baseline set here for now. A bit more cooperation and discussion in the future should help bygones be bygones."
  227.
  228. "I'd also like to be present at the meeting too, y'know, cause Ilburg is my home and I don't want to see it constantly embroiled in war, even if our kin thrive in it."
  229. (Moserah Hayussuin)
  230. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  231.
  232. [16:18]
  233. {LOAD GAME}
  234.
  235. [16:19] Talking seems to go a long way, what a surprise. An amused chuckle broke free from his lips suddenly as talk of marriage appeared, before he focused back on the rhoynish girl.
  236.
  237. "Hm, then, could I trouble you with delivering such words towards Penelope? About setting up a meeting. Either by ourselves, or with two trusted people."
  238.
  239. He didn't mind, the faster it was done the better. His smile could only grow as more words came from the girl. The foundation that had formed to allow relations to grow would hopefully last.
  240.
  241. He could only hope they weren't destroyed once again, like before with Theria from a mere meeting.
  242.
  243. "Thank you. For coming here and speaking to me, hopefully everything will work out this time. Is there anything else you had on your minds that you wished to talk on?"
  244. (Pericles Vitalis)
  245. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  246.
  247. [16:21] Moserah Hayussuin asks, "Mm. Kofe?"
  248. [16:23] "As far as the political side of the arrangement comes, I think Penelope, Moss, and you Perciles should all be there. We all have a say in it and I know that Moss had to be there 'cause my mom won't really pay attention, but she's still involved in another way."
  249.
  250. He paused, shaking his head at Pericles.
  251.
  252. "I think we've got all we need for now. Thanks."
  253. (Kofe)
  254. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  255.
  256. [16:23] * You have been awarded 1 Roleplay Points! *
  257. [16:25] Pericles Vitalis says, "That's fine with me."
  258. [16:28] "Penelope is my metaphorical aunt to put it simply, she treats me like one of her own and looks after me.", Moserah adds on with the whole meeting arrangement sentence, "Plus, even if I'm not a leadership person, or have the skills for it. I think she has faith in me being a messenger and so on, the middle girl in all this business."
  259.
  260. It was decided; a meeting would be brewed up and talks could get underway.
  261.
  262. "Penny will usually pay attention if there's a chance she can prove her strength or have a fight, or if it's war. This is why everyone thinks she's great; she's honest and to the point. I think you'll like her a lot for it, but I will warn you now, she despises liars."
  263.
  264. Moserah could remember the speech Penny gave her on the talk of deceit and lying and how honesty was above all for a Rhoynur.
  265.
  266. "But yeah, thanks for your time. Mhm-yes."
  267. (Moserah Hayussuin)
  268. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  269.
  270. [16:29] Kofe says, "I'll let you lead the way, Moss."
  271. [16:29] Kofe says, "It's much more funny that way."
  272. [16:31] Things were underway it seems.
  273.
  274. Pericles rose to a stand as the meeting came to a close, cosmic-codex gripped again and placed against his side as he looked towards the duo that were soon heading out.
  275.
  276. "Perfect. Please do pass on my request then, I'll be waiting around the market in my free time. So hopefully you'll be able to find me when you get the chance to speak to Penelope."
  277.
  278. A moment of silence, before he too started to depart from the room, leaving a few lasting words.
  279.
  280. "I'll be waiting then, may the stars watch over you."
  281. (Pericles Vitalis)
