Chae yeong was raised by her parents but her mother died when she was 4 years old. She started school in 3rd grade since she was home schooled till then. She had very small friends since she wasn't very outgoing. She would usually hang out at the library after school for a bit before going home. She took an interest in poetry from her grandmother, who passed away at the age of 79. She started writing her own poetry when she turned 12 years old and the teachers decided she should at least become a poet but she denied and said that she'll just be a teacher.
