Buried in an underground city

Then, suddenly, they were in daylight, floating above the surface of the Antarctic.  Beneath them the ground sagged, and the ancient ice shelf shattered and caved in.  Tons of rocks and ice collapsed onto the underground city.  The lost necropolis of the Ancient Ones was buried forever.
And so was Godzilla…
