Raine is 5'11 and 160 lbs. He has a slim build, having little to no muscle on him. Despite this appearance, Raine is still strong and healthy. He is 24 years old, and looks young for his age.

Raine's appearance will sometimes change depending on the weather. He tends to appear more energetic and healthy in colder weather, whereas in warm or hot weather, Raine will appear fatigued and sometimes sickly unless he has a way to cool himself down.

Raine has pale skin and light frosty green eyes. His hair is a light blonde that almost appears white, and is short but still slightly longer than most guys wear. His bangs sweep across his face and his hair will often cover part of his ears. Raine's hair is naturally straight.

**Cold Blooded:** Raine loves cold weather and feels most at home with it. Ice, Snow, and low temperatures do not affect him as they would a normal human. The cold also helps energize him.

**Patterns in the Frost:** You can probably say it is because he is quiet and tends to observe, but Raine tends to notice things others wouldn't.

**Supercooled Crystals:** Raine enjoys making things especially crafting objects from ice, over time the objects have been able to become more complex in shape and more durable. All he needs to do is make it once and he will be able to make it again able to improve on design until perfection.

# Title Details: Raine is the Scout of Team 2, he goes and investigates, clearing the way for the others and making sure there are no traps ahead. He notices and thrives on finding the details.
#  Title Benefits: Raine gets an automatic success on Perception checks and investigation checks.
#  Title Curse: Raine can't sit still or in the same place for too long. He won't be able to bear sticking with the group and will often insist they keep moving along or he will.

#  Title Details:  A gift bestowed by Hades, God of the Underworld to those who impress him for various reasons (the God of the Underworld is a mysterious being).  The recipient of this gift is granted access to Hades' most sought after and dirty trick.
#   Title Benefit:  As a result of the blessing from Hades, the Blessed of Hades is granted the ability to become invisible to the naked eye.
#   Title Curse:  Once this title is deactivated, the Blessed of Hades is struck with a very deep and primal fear that the one he/she loves will have to leave for a long time, very soon.

**Key of Jotunheim:** An old worn down Iron Ring made of a gasket from a downed plane. It has absorbed the power of the frigid Arctic cold. It has a fine layer of frost covering it constantly.

**Ability**: Allows him to control the elemental powers within him to a finer degree.
**Catch**: After its use Raine will experience Hypothermia-like symptoms. Something that hits him harder than normal since he is not used to dealing with the effects of the cold.

 * Cryokinetic Constructs- Raine can make ice decoys and copies of creatures and people of ice. They can move and he is able to move them fluidly and life-like. The fluidity depends on how much he practices with a particular species.
 * Frost Manipulation- Raine can create frost and manipulate it. Such as making notes out of Frost
 * Ice Surveillance- Raine can pick up and project images using ice and snow so long as he has ice crystals to manipulate and a frozen surface to reflect them on.

 * Frigokinetic Combat- Raine can combine snow with physical combat.


+++ **Flaw:**
**If you can't stand the heat...:** Raine cannot use his powers in dry or too hot of a climate. If there is no moisture to make ice he will not be able to make it. If the temperature is too high anything he makes will melt. Even if he is able to lower the temperature enough to create the ice, his attacks will be noticeably weaker. This is also why he is susceptible to heat-related illnesses such as Heat Stroke, Sunburn, and Dehydration.

+++ **Personal History:**
Raine was born to parents Maaria Vitranen and Eero Vitranen, in the middle of the winter season in a remote rural village located in Nothern Finland. Unknown to the Virtanen's their son Raine was born with Ice Elemental blood within him, affecting his appearance and behavior. This bloodline was found far into the past of the Virtanen's and had been all but buried with Maaria and Eero and their fathers and mothers knowing nothing of such stories.

For a long time Raine seemed like he was a normal child who pursued normal activities save for his love for colder weather and strange fortitude against the chill and ice. Raine and his family lived for many years happily. His Mother, Maaria always would question Raine's affinity with the colder weather and his hatred for heat.

Things changed when Raine was 14, in school Raine had begun to get bullied by some of the other children. Whether for his love of cold, or his strange appearance the teasing and beatings sometimes didn't seem to end. While he would attempt to fight back all it would do would give Raine a bad reputation with the other adults in the town. One day Raine was walking back with one of his friends when the bullies struck again, this time going after Raine's friend.

In a near panic Raine attacked but this time something different happened. According to the police reports the victims said they were going after Raine's friend when the temperature plunged to an "unnatural cold". Before they could react Raine had lunged forward, shoving back one of the bullies and at his touch ice blossomed up and around the child's chest. This resulted in the victim receiving 2nd degree frostbite. At this the Bullies began to back off accusing Raine of messing with the occult. Raine was understandably frightened and found to his dismay that his friend had ran away in fear.

Isolated after these events came to surface even his supportive parents were not enough to comfort Raine or give him the answers he needed. So one night at age 15, he ran away from his home, leaving nothing but a note apologizing for what he had done and bringing the unwanted attention and hatred of the town to his parents. He made it far into the woods before he met Marko Hautala an outsider who lived deep in the woods. Finding Raine out alone so far away from most he decided to reach out and help the child. It wasn't too long before he learned about Raine's ability. To Raine's surprise Marko did not dismiss him or treat him any differently. Instead Marko took Raine under his wing and helped Raine learn more about the existence of others similar to him. He helped Raine concentrate and learn how to control his powers moving away from emotional outbursts to controlled and efficient ways. The two lived together quite happily, with Marko treating Raine as a son and student. However these times would not last.

Six years later the old man was dying, a sickness brought by old age. Raine was helpless to do anything but make Marko as comfortable as he could in the old man's last moments. It was then Marko revealed to Raine about an organization from long ago. The BSA, a place where Marko was employed as a young man before he retired and lived out the rest of his years in the deep Finnish forests. Unknown to Raine, during all the time they had spent together Marko had been in contact with the BSA updating them on Raine as well as getting proper documentation for the boy. Thanking Raine for the years they had spent together he gave Raine one last gift, an old Iron ring, worn smooth with a frosted surface. He encouraged Raine to seek out the BSA and to get their help, and with that Marko passed away.

After paying his respects Raine followed Marko's wishes and within the next year he managed to find the BSA and request a job from them. Since then Raine has been working for the BSA.

**Winter 2015/2016**

On December 27, 2015 Raine joined Team 2 meeting Agents Addison, Mike, and Zoe. The next day Raine encountered Satyana who didn't make the best impression with him. However Raine and Mike grew closer after going hunting together, managing to bring down an entire Reindeer. Later that day Raine was able to help Addison see Agent Elliot using his Ice Projection Technique.

He attended Addison's wedding however it ended in disaster after the groom failed to show up. Raine along with the other team members tried to comfort Addison though she ran away in grief. Once they found where she was Raine and Team 2 went on a mission to retrieve her. Being Raine's first mission, he was very shocked and appalled at the actions of his team members causing him to doubt his position and job with the BSA.

After talks and eventual settlement Raine was comforted by Dr.Saari and The Director on his position in the Bureau. Raine kept to himself until their second mission on January 10 in which they went t Russia to help Sylvans. Raine became concerned when things on the mission almost came to blows but was successful able to deter violently Lethal action with the help of Addison who later taught him how to fistbump. On the trip to Chicago to deal with an Eldrich horror type creature Raine got to talk to Elliot who clashed with his non-violence stance. Raine later fought against the monster helping the team to re-contain it by creating an ice wall to prevent escape and injuring two tendrils that were going to strike Mike and Elliot with two ice daggers he had created.

On January 21, Raine celebrated his 23rd Birthday. Thrown by Addison, Raine was surprised to see many of his friends and even the Director to show up. Dr. Saari brought her daughter Klaara with her. Klaara and Raine though having met earlier talked and enjoyed eachother company when it was brought to Raine's attention that Klaara was "crushing" on him. Klaara and Raine made plans that evening to hang out a bit more, beginning his long term relationship with her.

Mike left the team sometime after a horrifying Mission that went wrong and ended in the wrongful death of 山田良輔(Yamada Ryosuke) who was killed by a strange Yakuza family with living tattoos. Since then Raine has been looking towards Addison for leadership as well as making sure she is ok with what has been swirling around recently. Raine also showed concern for Zoe during a mission to Centralia, PA in which the group had to go into hot mines. Something that did not sit well with the Ice Manipulator. The following missions were pretty much the same for Raine although he ended up meeting a new team member who actually had returned from running away named Rhyden. Raine and Rhyden did not get along since Raine felt  like she doesn't understand him. Slowly and surely Raine became more accustomed to the flow and life of the BSA.

On February 14th, the BSA Winter Ball was held. Raine danced and had a lovely evening with Klaara who loved his gift of a necklace. They also shared their first kiss together. On February 16, 2016 the team went on a mission in China. During a car chase Raine was shot, the bullet gouging his shoulder. However it was healed by an immortal woman they had saved, much to his surprise.

**Personality and Habits**
Raine appears to be distant. He is always thinking or analyzing something, especially the people around him. He likes to think before he speaks, rarely acting rashly or recklessly. Only times he has been known to do such things is when something he cares about is at stake or if pushed to anger.

Raine is very hesitant on using violence when it is not needed. He believes in looking at a situation and exploring all other options before resorting to violence. Death makes him uncomfortable however he knows it is inevitable. This view on waiting until they can judge to see if violence is the right path of action has led Raine to clash with his teammates.

Raine is a quiet person and enjoys softness and not overly loud situations he tends to avoid wild social gatherings. People who get to know him better find he is a fairly open and happy person who is friendly and caring. Since English is not his first language, he has a hard time understanding sarcasm and slang and tends to take everything at face value whether that is promises, jokes, or said sarcasm.

When bored Raine will play with ice crystals or snowflakes or to prevent himself from fidgeting place his hands in his pockets.

Raine also hates fire, while he is fine with it within controlled circumstances such as a fireplace or bonfire, an out of control fire or someone using fire against him sends him into an uncharacteristic panic and brings him into a full defense mode. Raine has also shown a small fear of heights. In his spare time Raine likes to read and write as well as listen to music, most of which he does alone.

Because Raine likes to read and write in his spare time, he is actually a decent writer, he usually writes short stories or poems, often keeping a journal of his stories somewhere around with him.

Raine has the unfortunate habit of inadvertently freezing items. One hobby he wishes he could pursue is gardening. However because he tends to freeze the plants, all attempts have been met with a dismal failure.

**Relationships**

* **[[[Michael Weyland]]]:** Raine considers Michael as a man he can trust. After Mike left the Team Raine felt a bit betrayed and grew more distant from Mike. He still to this day talks to Mike and enjoys his company. However little that may be.

* **[[[Addison Smith]]]:** Raine thinks Addison as a sister. They are often seen together talking or hanging out. And often exchange advice as needed. He supports her fully as the New leader of Team 2 and tries his best to support her with all his ability.

* **[[[Dr.Katariina Saari]]]:** Raine was surprised to find another Finn among the BSA, talking to Dr.Saari makes him feel better and more at ease since the cultural understanding hasn't been lost. He was very shocked to discover she was in fact a Mom who had a daughter.

* **[[[Klaara Saari]]]:** Klaara and Raine get together very well. She is a bit nerdy and strange in Raine's opinion but because of her shy personality Raine has grown to like her quite a bit. Even if he doesn't know how to react to her crush on him.

* **The Director:** Raine thinks the Director is a bit strange however he wouldn't voice it outloud. The fact that the Director knows his old Mentor makes Raine curious about what Marko was like as an agent in the BSA.

* **Marko Hautala:** Raine's mentor for the 6 years after he ran away from home. Marko had a profound impact on Raine's life and helped him train and hone his skills so that he would not be reliant on emotional outbursts. Marko helped Raine's entry into the BSA to be as smooth as possible however he didn't tell Raine about the BSA until the day of his death. This has left Raine with a lot of questions regarding his mentor and the life he used to lead.

* **Viivi:** Viivi is Raine's dog. He found her abandoned in a box when he was out with Addison. He takes care of her and is trying to train her to be useful during scouting and rescue missions. She is very loveable and enthusiastic and loves attention. She also takes control of the BSA Pets. Raine cares a lot for Viivi and often takes her everywhere.

* Raine's favorite genre of books is Fantasy

* Raine does have a Finnish Accent

* While a bit of a minimalist because he came with few items, Raine does like nice things. And may end up acquiring more items as he stays in one place longer. He does however, try to keep it balanced, clean and organized.

* Raine enjoys Hunting and knows how to field dress animals very well.

* Raine is somewhat Religious, something that has been challenged a lot.

* Raine has a particular disdain for fighting and violence leading some to label him as a pacifist, however Raine has no problem with fighting a good fight, it is not using violence when he doesn't have to that matters to him.

* Raine's parents owned a small store in town where he would help as a child growing up. His father was also a Hunter who sold his catch at the store.

* Raine loves Music of all sorts but does not count rap as true music. He bought an ipod as soon as he found out about it and takes it wherever he goes finding it convenient. Raine collects CDs and records to play his favorite finds.

**Raine's Condo**

Raine has a nice, clean organized place with a rustic charm. His home is mostly made of wood. He has a bedroom which is nicely sized and has a master bathroom and a nice windowed view of outside. There is also a hallway bathroom and a Living area with a fireplace. In the living area there is a couch and coffee table. He does have a small entertainment system but doesn't often use it.

He has a nicely sized kitchen with a small area to dine in and for entertaining guests if he ever has any. He often spends his time in his nice comfy office filled with fantasy books and other things to use to fill his time. Inside the office is a desk and chair.

Raine does have a balcony overlooking the outside, which is the Finnish country side. There is some space before you run into the treeline of the forests and in the distance you can see the mountains. It follows the sun patterns of Northern Finland, with Winter being mostly dark and Summer being mostly light. As such Raine has strong shutters on his windows able to darken his house enough in the summer to relax properly in the evening.

Outside there is also a Finnish Sauna.
