- One thousand years from now, aliens destroy Earth in fear of the Titan project. Some humans escape, becoming a downtrodden Diaspora, living in impoverished settlements. The mysterious Titan spacecraft also escapes, and its inventor has hidden it before dying. A spacecraft captain and its pilot, Korso and Akima, two humans, seek out Cale, the youthful son of the dead scientist and explain that he must help them find the Titan, which holds a mechanism to unite and save humanity. Cale refuses, but the arrival of the killer aliens persuades him to join Korso. Can he avoid his pursuers, know friend from foe, find the Titan, and embrace his humanity, a nature he has despised until now?
- A young man learns that he has to find a hidden Earth ship before an enemy alien species does in order to secure the survival of humanity.
- The graphics were awesome. I love to watch an animation where I forget it's an animation. Don Bluth is a master at making characters that make small gestures and movements in their faces and also at making them appear realistic.<br/><br/>My only gripe with this movie was the storyline wasn't quite complete. The reason the bad guys wanted to take out the humans was never really made clear.<br/><br/>Still, it was a fun movie to go see. I'd recommend it!
- Titan AE provides some of the best animation that exists today. It definitely gives Disney a run for their money. The science in the movie, like the DNA encoded map ring to the creation of a planet parallels some of the great sci-fi movies made in recent years. So what happens if the earth was to be destroyed...cool plot.
- The glory of the picture is the eye-popping, surreal backgrounds that blast the conventional characters off the screen.
- The Drej are an extraterrestrial race made of pure energy. They're driven to destroy all humankind, and almost succeed, because humans have become too advanced with technology. When the rebuilt ship in the drifter colony fail to launch Akima asks Cale if she should "get out and push." Princess Leia asks the same question to Han Solo in Star Wars: Episode V - The Empire Strikes Back (1980) when Han is having problems getting the to take off from Hoth.<br/><br/>When the drifter ship is first shown, a piece of it resembles the Death Star. <br/><br/>There's a possible slave-woman being sold, similar to Princess Leia in "Starwars: Return of the Jedi". In the scene of Cale seeing Akima for the first time he is whistling Sabu's song from the 1939 "Thief of Baghdad"<br/><br/>"I want to be a bandit, can't you understand it?" a5c7b9f00b
