- Hey guys, how’s it goin?
- Welp, I was afraid of this, but the other shoe finally dropped on Thursday. I am no longer actively employed. Due to a lack of work caused by circumstances arising from the COVID-19 response, I have been placed on an indefinite leave of absence. It's hard for a law office to get work done when in-person court proceedings have been suspended and one of your two attorneys is stuck outside of the country. There just was not enough work to justify paying an accountant right now. I am mostly stuck drawing unemployment until most of this blows over. August feels like a best-case scenario. What a birthday present that would be!
- The uncertainty is a little scary, but it's not all bad. I still get my last regular paycheck this week. If plans go through as expected, then stimulus payments will come in the week after that and unemployment checks will start the week after that—with a raise! If there are slight delays, then I have enough saved back to last a few extra weeks before panic sets in.
- But since I am basically in a holding pattern, that means I get more time to stream! I still have a community obligation to fulfill (I have no excuse to not get that done this month, dammit!), but I would like to scale up my streaming to at least five days a week. Right now, I'm thinking Monday, Wednesday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday once the full schedule gets going, but not this week. I will work in an extra stream on Wednesday this week. I'm not certain that it will be full of puzzles. Speedrunning puzzles for that long sounds bad for the health of my titanium steel hands. There will definitely be more Yu-Gi-Oh! of some sort. Since the speedrun marathon got postponed for several months, I will be going back to an old speedrun of mine. I just can't decide if it's going to be Dungeon Dice Monsters or The Falsebound Kingdom. It depends on how much work I'm willing to put in offline to get set up for it.
- That’s my life story for the week. Until next time, everyone, thanks for reading!
