  2. *Continent of Aldor divided in southern reaches and northern (Kaltes Land).
  3. *Learned later that: I fell from Ferholde after the keepers of the realm banished my hold. My father said a few words to me before I fell through the floor and down, down
  4. I went into a lake. My journey down is foggy, and I cannot remember much. I do recall a voice, however. This voice will speak to me later on in my journey.
  5. *Intro: swords pointed at me for a mugging, saved by ex-mugger who's name I forgot. I'm in Dannik's territory, a bandit group.
  6. *Given directions to an inn and village, met a gnome named Balor along the way and purchased jerkey and bread 1 silver piece.
  7. Balor was headed north because the south is an awful place.
  8. *Winter's Welcome inn, purchased room and food for 2 silver pieces. Ecilda is barmade. She is excited to see me for whatever reason,
  9. and very interested in me. Probably wants me to get rid of the bandits. Dannik is in Southwood, has been causing trouble for awhile.
  10. *Exit the Winter's Welcome, on the road again with a breakfast to go. Meet 3 men in plate armor in the forest after seeing running animals.
  11. Throw a guiding bolt at one after they refuse to identify. Reveals undead skeletons. Enter battle. Nearly died, undead were lucky.
  12. *Keep going, limp along to Southwood. People approach, I pay two silver to get taken to a doctor. "Take him to Brennick," man at town entry says.
  13. *Doctor sews me up, doesn't quite believe that undead attacked me and thinks it was Dannik's men. Undead are "fairytales." Tells me to head to the tavern,
  14. which I do.
  15. *I meet a ranger named Ezra who has a horned owl with them. They're after Dannik, and so am I. I inform them this will be a difficult task. They also know the location
  16. of Nevarnost!
  17. *Also met a half-orc called Drex. He has a friend named Thomas that was helping him in a carriage to Southwood. Drex and the ranger both want to kill Dannik.
  18. *We find Dannik's settlement and route the patrols. We're trying to sneak in, and aim to create a distraction. We get seen though, and enter combat.
  19. We end up splitting Dannik in half and we cut his head off. I break a kid's arm about my age and spare his life after he doesn't land a single hit on me.
  20. *While riding, Thomas our carriage friend tells us that the southern reaches are full of bandits.
  21. *Drex rips off my mask in the carriage ride and see his odd features. I am displeased by this, but doesn't really care.
  22. I trust them enough to lift his visor now.
  23. *We meet a patrol from Kaltes Land, they have a blue crest. We present them the paper for the bounty for Dannik. They let us through.
  24. I see Balor the gnome from earlier in the lines, I pick him up and his belongings and take him inside our cart so he can get in faster.
  25. *Thomas parts from us to go take care of his mother. I bid him a farewell and give him fate's blessing. He says he lives in Coldhardt and that we can
  26. stay at his residence anytime we want.
  27. *We stay at a tavern. The barkeep informs us of Wintershutz where there's a whorehouse. I'm still carrying Balor the gnome, and I let him stay in my room while he sleeps.
  28. I write a note for Balor telling him what happened as he slept and depart. I see Ezra and Drex playing with a sword with Celestial on it, my language. It's
  29. enchanted I can tell.
  30. *Bordertown between southern reaches and Kaltes Land is called "Ranstad."
  31. *We board a cart with four horses to get to Wintershultz, where there is a whorehouse and a bounty. The woman accompanying us is Molly, and she can and probably
  32. will take the cart back for us. I sleep for a little while.
  33. *We arrive at Wintershultz, we give our names to the man greeting us and he writes it down. We are staying for 2-3 days, and if we stay longer guards will escort us.
  34. Whintershultz has massive walls, the streets are lit with pires. It's more like a city. Drex seeks to fight in the pits and wants to the champion. We are also
  35. looking for a bounty here.
  36. *Coldbite Inn is where Molly goes to rest. It is quite late, but there is still activity here so it seems there is a night-life here. There is a few more inns
  37. sprinked around this large city.
  38. *The "Mage's Tower" is where we need to go for our bounty. We approach and see a tower that is around 300ft tall, and the length matches the width. Massive.
  39. *Holace is the man/wizard who posted the bounty, and that's who we're looking for. He is often out from the Mage's Tower for awhile, and only comes back for
  40. a few days at a time. The person he wants dead is likely out of his depth.
  41. *We make it to the fighting pits (Firelodge). No weapons, Drex pays for my admission fee. I take all their equipment and go to watch. Unfortunately, they catch
  42. me trying to cast Hold Person and take me outside to rough me up. I persuade them to leave me alone and we earn over 150+ gold after
  43. my partners win and split it, leaving. We think somebody might be following us as we leave.
  44. *We take turns having watch, nothing we see is significant. An elf comes in and goes upstairs, which is all I see.
  45. *Eventually we leave the Inn in the morning, and on the way to the Mage's Tower we go to a potion shop called Merydth's Concotion. Somehow Drex managed
  46. to seduce Merdyth and get 10 gold off of a 35 gold health potion.
  47. *We head in to Trent's forgery to purchase a few better weapons. Drex makes a bet and we'll get a magical shortsword after they win in the pits again.
  48. I talk to Trent about a book by Gregor Simmons, a romance novel.
  49. *We get to the Mage's Tower again, and climb flights and flights of stairs. I decide to rest and fall asleep on the stairwell and they go on without me.
  50. *We leave and Drex goes to a whorehouse. Ezra and I are left. Drex comes back a little while later... after getting one pump in at the whorehouse, we figure that out
  51. pretty easy after he tries to lie to us. We decide to go to Firelodge to hang around.
  52. *To beat the champion, you have to beat an ogre called Grimjaw. The champion comes in every now and then.
  53. *Drex goes to fight by himself, another half-orc. Ezra and I take the stands and we make all bets on our friend. More people are betting on Drex. I turn the tides
  54. of the battle with my fate, giving health to Drex. He absolutely demolishes his opponent and takes a tooth as a trophy after I heal him aplenty! We gain lots of gold.
  55. Also, Drex gains a lady and gives her a victory kiss... Merydth! Bormack (adversary) had his eyes gouged out practically.
  56. *We head back to the Coldbite Inn for some well needed rest. We buy 9 flagons of ale and three rooms again. We drink with Molly (our guide). We gained 419 gold pieces.
  57. Ezra tries to sew Drex's ear back on but it doesn't quite work, so they just take it back off.
  58. *In the morning, Drex and I depart for the brothel while Ezera goes shopping for equipment. This is my first time at a brothel. I meet another Aasimar and
  59. we mate, it fills me with confidence.
  60. *We board a cart with Molly and start attuning our magic weapons on the ride there. We are off to fight a basilisk. Drex is talking to his weapon the whole way...
  61. We talk for awhile, Drex has a wife and kids and is pretty sure his brother is taking his wife. He left for unknown reasons. Ezra says they have no family and no interests.
  62. I kept myself a secret as usual.
  63. *We arrive at Nestlerest Inn to stop for food and such after a nap on the ride to Hadenfield Mines. A human named Relar takes our order. While we are served, a
  64. half-elf comes down the stairs in muted red robes. He enthusiastically introduces himself as Edwynor Oakheart, a wizard. He is going to Hadenfield for research, I agree
  65. to take him with us.
  66. *We learn that Drex's sword is sentient and is a woman named Marabelle. While we're on the ride to the Hadenfield mines, Edwynor teaches Drex some counting tricks.
  67. We find a discrepancy in Ezra's story about their owl companion being his brother after they tell our newly acquired friend that he found the owl.
  68. *We stop the carriage after being interrupted by others down the road. Ezra goes to investigate and describes "adventurers" like ourselves, looking roughed up, bloodied up.
  69. We approach them on the cart. They say they're heading back after encountering gnolls. We keep going.
  70. *We arrive at the Hadenfield mine entrance, where there is a dwarf who greets us, his name is Ferrick. He is getting something as well, and was supposedly recruited to
  71. help us.
  72. *Our group wanders through the tunnels. Laughter is heard coming from down the tunnel. We are informed not to mess with the statues, who are people that are still alive.
  73. We also hear loud cracking in the tunnel... That's when we come across a body, the bones have been beaten and the limbs twisted. Pawprints are in the dirt of the mine.
  74. Ferrick informs us that the basilisk is down where the pawprints lead.
  75. *We encounter a massive group of gnolls in the tunnels and start to absolutely ruin them. I use a guiding bolt and kill one instantly. After taking out a good lot of them,
  76. we uncover three extremely powerful gnolls wearing real armor and wielding real weapons. We're stuck in a narrow walkway and once the pack leader sees that most of his
  77. forces have been killed, they begin to retreat. We have killed 12 gnolls by now, and they all retreat. It seems they were creating some kind of altar.
  78. *We find the basilisk amongst several stone people in combat stance. Drex attacks first, resisting the urge of the basilisk's gaze by a miracle. "It's time to make this
  79. right and banish this evil from the world," I think. We tussle with this creature, I throw two guiding bolts and the rest of my gang wails upon this creature. The dwarf
  80. is nearly frozen to stone. I hear the God of fate speak to me, "yes," and I feel a sense of pride knowing I am one of the sole worshippers. Edwynor is tackled by the basilisk
  81. and Drex runs over and jumps onto it's back, he thrusts his sword downward into the creature's head and it screeches - dying as purple viscous blood comes out of the wound.
  82. We see movement in the basilisk's belly and Ezra cuts it open, many minature babies come out and we all start to beat down on the babies.
  83. *After the fight we decide to revive a dragonborn without his tail, as he is the least damaged. His scales are black. He slams his sword down and looks at each of us.
  84. He asks what has happened to his allies. We figure he is from the year 356 AC, and it is currently 750 AC. His name is Rhogar. The last time he came in here, the
  85. land was a wasteland. Hunter of the Red order, seeked to use a form of magic to help people.
  86. *We leave the Hadenfield mine with Rhogar the dragonborn and Ferrick the dwarf. The owl comes flying in, which alerts us that Molly is in danger. Once we surface,
  87. we find that Molly has killed one of the gnolls and that our cart and horses were made off with.
  88. *We walk for awhile and find a camp, and we find that a horse has been killed and three remain. We prepare to attack after some sneaking. A sneak attack is made
  89. after the entire group is slipped with a grease spell (all but two). We dispatch the entire group of all 7 gnolls, destroying them brutally with arcane and blunt attacks.
  90. *We get our carriage back, and head to Fester the village. We arrive sometime in the afternoon, but we decide to keep going to Wintershutz. I head back to the
  91. Coldbite Inn to get some well needed sleep and food, it's been a little over a day.
  92. *Made a deal, can't remember... Woke up to a cold feeling in my chest, a voice was talking to me about a deal I cannot recall making. My journey to Aldore from Ferholde is
  93. foggy. It's around 1PM, us Aasimar are used to sleeping whenever we feel tired. I speak with Rhogar, who Drex so kindly invited to my room during the day so he could rest.
  94. Rhogar and I converse and I try to gather what I can about him. He is supposedly ashamed of his origins, as they are malicious and evil.
  95. *Andre's Books & Trinkets. Yohann Ironclutch, liberated lands from dark forces many ages ago, Rhogar might know more. Purchased 3 books, about Ironclutch's Hold,
  96. Ancient Arcana, Book of Common and Lesser Dieties. The two former books are to give to Rhogar so that he may fill in the gaps of his time as stone.
  97. *Andre is a tiefling woman with blue skin, glasses, and long hair. She seems interested in me. I told her about our friend Rhogar. She tells me his kind are usually very
  98. fiendish and cruel, and I acknowledge that I might be being manipulated as we speak.
  99. *Passports to the inner city are acquired at the spire-like building, but it is usually busy and best to come in the evening. The inner city is on lockdown.
  100. *I go back to the Inn in the night and fall asleep after a day of rest. I wake up, and my group gathers in the main floor of the inn to discuss what we'll do next.
  101. We head to the "DMV" to get our passports, I warn them that they'll be quite a crowd but they want to go see for themselves. Drex tries to say I'm royalty but that
  102. doesn't persuade anyone in the line.
  103. *We're approached by Riganorth, half elf, at the lines and he asks us for help. He asks us to look for his brother at the border of the Southern Reaches.
  104. He gets us through the lines and is willing to pay for our passports if we help him find his brother. The tiefling's name who assigns us our contract is is Donald Haverson.
  105. The brother's name is Calum North. Middle-aged half elf with graying hair. Around the Burtrun forest is where we might find him, on the border. Gnolls have been luring
  106. people off the roads after learning some common tongue. If we bring back gnoll heads or ears, we will earn 150 gold pieces each.
  107. *We exit the spire building and Drex asks if he should buy a shirt. That's when Molly runs over, looking for us. Drex goes looking for a shirt and threatens someone, failing.
  108. So he just bargains instead and gains a shirt. He rips off the sleeves. We briefly stop by Meredith's shop to buy some potions. After this, we depart in Molly's carriage.
  109. *After about a day and a half we reach the cusp of the Burtrun forest. It's laden with green underbrush and a high canopy. We invite Molly to come along with us
  110. and begin travelling into the forest.
  111. *We find an abandoned camp in the woods, investigating it stealthily... a massive, hulking creature is standing over a body of a middle-aged half elf. The half elf turns,
  112. begging us for help. I notice the lips aren't moving whatsoever... oddly enough. I peer over my shoulder, and see the same kind of creature staring at us from behind with
  113. iris-less eyes. They're ten feet in length, five feet tall. It stands on hooves, thick-matted and oily fur emits a stench. The face is badger-like.
  114. "What do we have here?" It dribbles, blood oozing from its mouth. A battle begins with the intense creature lunging to bite Molly, she dodges. We begin our fight against the
  115. Leucrottas.
  116. *We kill both Leucrottas and the three gnolls that showed up during the fight. We take the items we can. We question Drex as to why his skin turned gray and his eyes
  117. glowed silver. He doesn't know about it. We take the half elfs body but it splits in half due to how torn it is. We stuff the two parts of the cadaver in our cart.
