personality |  Aeri is a girl of complexity. She is an artist at heart, taking wonder in the world around her and pouring her heart in painting, writing, singing, anything that fulfill her yearning. Her standoffish aura and blunt way of approaching social situations repels many people away from her. No one really knows who she is, all that they see is a weird girl who blurts out her judgements with zero filter. She is the definition of outcast and with that label comes extremely introverted tendencies. Aeri enjoys her space, likes the quiet and calm. Anything disrupting her or something out of the norm throws her off. Prone to stress over the littlest of things, Aeri puts forth her best effort in everything she does. Especially in art and school, she often loses sleep trying to be the best she can be. Aeri also has an eccentric sense of humor and finds amusement in others struggles, mostly because it helps her detach herself from others. Under the guise of a rude and awkward young girl, hides someone who just wants a friend, a hand to hold. Given the right circumstances Aeri can be kind and selfless, but she only shows it in the little ways that matter or pretends like she doesn’t care even when her actions say otherwise. A bit of a wallflower, she observes the general population with a curious eye and much scrutiny. She observes others and their habits, learning how they tick but never bother to get to know them. She also has a tendency to think she’s better than someone and belittle them. It’s a way of avoiding her own insecurities.

background |  Aeri’s childhood was an experience to say the least. Growing up she took great interest in the arts and nature, so her parents enrolled her in classes despite their economic struggles. Her home life was crowded, with two siblings and a large family crammed into one apartment above the family restaurant. When she reached double digits Aeri began to clock in for work at the restaurant, most likely the source of her strong work ethic. Aeri was the middle child, stuck between the expectations her parents held for her after her perfect older sister and the rowdy, innocent nature of her younger brother. In school, Aeri has trouble making friends and often played by herself. When she finally did make friends, they ended up spreading nasty rumors about her. Throughout middle school and high school she was bullied terribly. It never reached anything physical but it took a toll on her mentally. Starting college gave her her first taste of freedom and she lives alone, preferring to take up an extra job at a bookshop instead of having to room with someone else.

first impression of each other | Aeri at first thinks Jimin is a crybaby, too emotional and too nice. She finds his kindness quite annoying and unnecessary, thinking he pities her. His constant questioning makes her snappy and very grumpy. Jimin thinks Aeri is a bit cold-hearted and intimidating. Talking to her, interacting with her is like walking on eggshells. Eventually he becomes fed up with constant belittling and snark. He decides there is no hope for them being anything other than hopeless opposites and soon finds he sees her to be just as irritating.

beginning: at the start the two live in an atmosphere of tension. Jimin feels like he can’t even get cereal without Aeri glaring daggers into his back. She finds his existence in her home quite burdensome, but doesn’t have the heart to outright kick him out. Instead she opts to ignore his existence as dutifully as she can. Once they become more used to each other’s presence, the bickering starts. It never escalates to anything terrible but it always includes outright criticism from Aeri and passive aggressive comments from Jimin. The only time there seems to be peace is when one is not home. One night they bond over their love for the stars when neither of them can sleep. From there they become a lot more kinder towards each other. Aeri makes Jimin sweets and Jimin takes her out when she’s stressed for exams. It’s still awkward though, neither really totally comfortable around the other.

middle: Jimin finally starts to take bigger steps towards getting to know Aeri after seeing her sad about not being able to see or support her family. He watches all the little things she does and helps out where he can. He inquires a lot more about her personal life and every once in awhile instead of receiving a gruff “shut up” he’ll be graced with an actual answer. Aeri on the other hand begins to loosen up a bit and lets Jimin some of her art, the most treasured part of herself. Of course, she still remains closed off and snaps at him but does it with less frequency and means it more in a joking manner. She makes Jimin watch horror movies with her and gives him a deep analysis of her favorite movies that she has to hit him to stay awake during. Sometimes she catches herself sketching him and has to shake herself out of it. Things seem to be going great until they have a huge argument over whether or not Aeri should show her art off to the world or not.

end: Jimin leaves and Aeri spends a lot of time on her lonesome doing emo art stuff. It takes her a lot of courage and introspection to finally bring herself to find him and apologize. She really never realized how integral he had become in her life and she misses him more than she’d like to admit. Jimin of course has a very hard time himself being away from her and has to keep himself in check from calling her and visiting her to make sure she’s okay. Once they’re back together it’s kind of hard for them to deny the #love between them. Aeri opens up fully to Jimin and they become the closest buds and tell each other anything and everything. They cuddle a lot and they dance in her living room and shit to sick beats. Aeri finds Jimin increasingly become the muse for her works. Both eventually come to terms with the fact that their in love with each other after long periods of denial. However, they both don’t do anything about it, too afraid the other doesn’t feel the same. It’d be funny to have Aeri go on dates with coworkers after Jimin decides that she needs more friends and him getting hella jealous. I definitely see them as slow burn and their confessing should probably be accidental, in a moment of intense emotion. Then I think, Jimin would really miss home and that could cause a rift in their budding relationship. Other than that angst™ they’d literally be the cutest couple to ever exist.
