Usually, people who do not know much about Richard Lugner, they know him as the guy who had many beautiful and young wives, however, his last marriage was a bit too much for everyone. Two years ago, this Austrian billionaire decided to marry a woman who is 57-years younger than him. There were many interviews where she claimed that she was in love with him, but is that actually true? If they were that much in love, how come there is a rumor spreading that they are having a divorce?
Richard Lugner was born on October 11, 1932, and he is known as the Austrian entrepreneur, a former political candidate, and a Viennese society figure. He was born in Vienna, and he grew up in a rather small house with his parents. We all know that people are not born rich, they can only be born into a rich family, so how did he get his hands-on billions? Well, Richard Lugner got his work license quite fast in 1962, and he immediately searched for new ways to make money. Needless to say, after opening his own shopping mall in 1990, the money just kept flowing his way.
However, while he was so successful in business, he was not that lucky when it came to women. He has been divorced four times already, and after marrying a former Playboy bunny Cathy Schmitz, who is currently 26-years-old, he thought they finally found happiness. Even thought there was a huge age-gap between them, they were not about to let that stop them from doing what they want. But, Richard Lugner did state in an interview that he was afraid she might be only after his riches, but he still wanted to be with her.
Two years after, we have received the news that Richard Lugner and his pretty blonde wife are getting a divorce, making that his fifth divorce. Even though after divorcing his previous wife he swore to never get married, Cathy was able to change his mind which is why the two decided to get married just a month after the engagement. The separation will be amicable, after which Richard Lugner added: “I enjoyed two wonderful years with the beautiful Cathy and I do not want to have the ‘War of Roses’”. It Is said that both of them wanted the divorce since it did not work out for them in the end, but they are still good friends.
