YOUKAI BUSTERS side sesh /tutor fluff

Yuumi: (( alright, so last time we left off - you'd dropped quite the backstory bomb, but we talked it out. I'd suggested a vague distraction of sorts, for which we'd need to head into the nearby foliage and find a good spot. Please do not read too much into this. ))
Reika: (( Waaaaaaaaaaaaaaah.... ))
Reika: (( IT FEELS WEIRD TO WALK ;~; ))
Yuumi: (( and bring the Pikachu. ))
Reika: (( Why's the Pikachu with me again? ))
Yuumi: (( Miyako gave her to you temporarily to make you feel better or something ))
Reika: (( Also why is there my Honedge that I can't click on ))

Yuumi:
Yuumi pushes another branch out of the way, ducking low on her quest for the perfect spot. "Okay, so, we're looking for a small, open grove, preferably near some water! It'll make the process a lot easier if I have some to work with to start out..."

Yuumi:
"I could always pull some from the trees or have one of my Pokemon create some in a pinch, but that doesn't tend to work as well... plus, it hurts the trees."

Reika:
Reika follows closely behind, uncertain of where exactly the younger girl is leading her. Despite her body's protests to stop and rest, she keeps up with her teammate, "Well, you know the layout of the land just as well as I do here, unfortunately.."

Yuumi:
"Oh, hold up! That spot looks -perfect-!" Yuumi and co. come across a small brook with flat stones at waist height that just look like they were MADE for sitting.

Reika:
"What exactly are we doing out here, Yuumi?"
Thrice: (( oh it's nothin big she's just gonna murder you once or twice ))

Yuumi:
"Hehe, I figured it was only fair I'd let you in on a little secret of mine, seeing as you did the same for me." She retrieves a wide, but shallow pan lined with silver from her pack, and lays it in the brook, filling it near to the brim.
Thrice: (( i ain't sayin' she a gold digger ))

Reika:
Reika looks on in silent confusion, uncertain of what the younger girl has planned.

Yuumi:
"Miyako asked me to see if there was any more potential to draw out of Reila there... and well, I've never shown this technique to anyone before. Well, anyone besides Pokemon, and the village elders of course."

Yuumi:
"Not that even THEY believed it, ehe. Hey, could you grab one of these cups?"

Yuumi:
She motions to one of the pitchers she's laid out, and then begins scrutinizing the water she pulled from the stream.

Reika:
Still somewhat confused, Reika picks up the mentioned cup and holds it, "Umm, this one?"

Yuumi:
"Yeah, yeah, that'll do." She lays the pan out on one of the flatter rocks, and starts to pull a constant small stream of it out of the pan with her water magyyks. "It'll take a while to go through all the impurities... just keep filling it up, but make sure not to overflow, okay?"

Reika:
Reika nods, "Can do."

Yuumi:
The process continues for several minutes, with seemingly nothing happening. At the five minute mark, just as Reika's about to pour in another pitcher, there's a sudden dim, pink flash in the pan. Yuumi grins. "Alright, we're almost there!"
Thrice: (( the PINK DEATH ))
Thrice: (( it's like the BLACK DEATH, but more ironically pretty. ))

Yuumi:
"We should be around 2% right now, that's plenty."
Thrice: (( One of the symptoms is that your dead skin cells start to turn into glitter, that gets EVERYWHERE, and you can't get it out. ))
Thrice: (( Out of anything. Not even your lungs. ))

Reika:
"Should...I just keep going or...?" the young girl isn't much more aware of what's going on now than when they started.

Yuumi:
"Yeah yeah, you can put that last one in. Won't hurt any!"

Yuumi:
That said, Yuumi has become visibly more strained as she pulls out more and more of the water, the stream narrowing as she does so.

Yuumi:
When Reika pours in the final pitcher, it returns to transparency again, but quickly regains a full pink glow as the last of the "impurities" are yanked out.

Yuumi:
"Whew..." Yuumi wipes the sweat off her brow. "What you are looking at, m'lady, is two parts to the hundred of what I like to call... Origin Water."
Thrice: (( yuumi are you distilling kyogre's piss ))
Reika: (( Yuumi: *tips fedora* ))
Yuumi: (( We need suffixes or something ))
Yuumi: (( I really don't know how to address people ))

Reika:
"I see..." Reika replies, uncertain of what she's actually seeing as her education skills are untrained to pathetic. "And what exactly does that mean?"
Thrice: (( uh, usually one addresses people by their name ))

Yuumi:
"It's a long story, and I'm pretty sure I'm not supposed to give too much away... but you know how the water cycle works, right? All the water in lakes, oceans, rivers, evaporates into the atmosphere, rains down elsewhere, or is consumed by people, plants and Pokemon and becomes part of their body which then returns to the earth, that kind of thing?"

Reika:
"Mhm," Reika nods, following along, "Yeah, I know that much at least."
Thrice: (( Reika internally: I-I thought the water cycle was a hydro-powered bike... ))
Reika: (( "Cahya, what's an airhead?" ))

Yuumi:
"Well, it all sorta gets mixed up, spread throughout the entire world! Obviously, some of it is really contaminated and undrinkable - you'd never scoop up a pitcher from a swamp, or from the ocean, and have yourself something to drink. That's just not healthy!"
Thrice: (( exactly ))

Yuumi:
"But there's some part of that swamp even in the water we drink at home, even if it's the tiniest amount."
Thrice: (( there's a little bit of ogre piss in every mouthful! ))

Yuumi:
"However, it also works the other way... and somewhere out there, I'm not saying where, there's a very powerful being I had the good fortune to stumble into... who had a great deal of knowledge."

Yuumi:
"This is some of the water which has been blessed by its presence."
Thrice: (( and thus Yuumi worships Feebas ))
Thrice: (( or, worse, Phione. ))

Reika:
"I see, I think I get what you're saying...you had a run in with a legendary of your own and it taught you how to harness that power?"
Thrice: (( holy SHIT is Manaphy's movepool TRITE ))

Yuumi:
Yuumi grins. "A tiny amount. But enough to matter."

Yuumi:
"Could you have Reila dip her paw in the water?"
Thrice: (( tho I suppose it could be suicune ))
Reika: (( *DUNKS THE PIKACHU HEADFIRST* ))
Yuumi: (( DON'T DO THAT YOU'LL SPLASH ))
Thrice: (( *forces agi to pronounce it soo-ee-soon* ))

Thrice: (( it's like sweet corn but it steals your garbage ))

Reika:
"Ah, of course." Reika holds out the Pikachu, putting it close to the water.
Thrice: (( that was a raccoon joke, tirk, not a racist joke (D) ))

Yuumi:
As soon as she does, the water flashes a bright yellow, glowing far more intensely from the touch. Yuumi nods. "It's starting," and places her hands on either side of the pan as images begin to form.
Thrice: (( pls don't buff twilt's pokemon ))

Yuumi:
The images last for only a second or two at a time, depicting Pikachu of various shapes and sizes, doing everything from curling into a ball to survive an attack from an unseen force, holding hands with its master, sleeping in a basket, to raining down thunderbolts off in the distance.
Yuumi: (( welp I'm -pretty- sure he wanted me to teach it Thunderbolt ))

Thrice: (( CAN you teach it Dundabult? ))

Reika:
"Wow, this is amazing, Yuumi.."
Yuumi: (( aw whatever it doesn't matter too much, I'll just play it out as though it was meant to learn Thunderbolt and TWILT can change it accordingly. ))

Masamune (Dewott):
boi it already has thunderbolt
Yuumi: (( He might have already put it in because he knew I was going to teach it (waiting) ))

Masamune (Dewott):
hmmmmaybe

Yuumi:
"These are all the potential futures the Origin Water is capable of bringing out... in other words, Moves Reila is capable of learning right now. As you can see, there's a lot of potential still left untapped!"
Thrice: (( I'd say check the tutor points but I don't know if he'd keep up with things that matter ))
Thrice: (( no one else seems to ))

Yuumi:
Yuumi's hands pulse with energy as she continues to cycle through. She pauses on the Pikachu on a mountaintop, calling down a devastating electrical strike. "I think this fits what Miyako was looking for..."

Yuumi:
With another pulse of energy, the image becomes more clear, with blue and pink lights adding in details to the background in addition to the yellow-toned ripples to highlight the destruction being caused.

Reika:
Reika looks on in wonder, "Potential futures..." she repeats to herself.

Yuumi:
"Of course, when you choose one..." She does the pulse that, before, would shift through the images, which now just causes the image to stutter, before resuming its new animated state, "...the rest disappear."

Reika:
"I see..."

Yuumi:
"But there's nothing wrong with that! If you don't choose at all, they ALL vanish, and someone else can pick up where you left off. Could've used the water on Masamune here if Reila decided not to go for it! Anyway, I think it's time for our mousey companion to drink up, and gain new strength!"

Reika:
"Well if that's how it goes, then yes, I agree."
Thrice: (( Yep. Best to steal someone else's possiblities for the future to satisfy your own. I also agree ))

Yuumi:
"When the water becomes part of her body, she'll become just like the Pikachu displayed in the image. That's the power of my guardian, to discern and bring out the hidden potential of all creatures!" Yuumi grins bashfully. "And I'll bet you thought I'd gone out of my way to learn all those moves myself so I could teach them, huh?"

Reika:
"Knowing you, Yuumi, you'd take the path of least effort." Reika replies with a grin. "It's good to know we have some sort of powerful help on our side though..."

Yuumi:
"Yeah, for sure. It's kind of a shame it takes so long to call on, though... I'm trying to improve my technique to get a purer product faster, but I'm sort of on my own here. I can only imagine what I'd be able to do if I could get close to 100%!"

Yuumi:
"Anyway, thanks for being patient with me there. I can trust you not to let on to the others, right? Like I said. SECRET technique."

Yuumi:
"She's not evil or anything... I don't think, but it's best not to test the patience of that kind of being."

Reika:
"Of course...I'm honestly not sure I could explain it to anyone who asked anyway, hehe..." Reika blushes and rubs the back of her head; she's still a bit loopy from the previous fight.

Yuumi:
"Cool. Let's get back to the others then, I think we've earned a bit of rest today!"
Yuumi: (( aand hopefully that justifies not fluffing tutoring in the future. ))
Yuumi: (( at least not to that extent ))

Reika:
"I know I could certainly use some.." Reika replies with a smile, placing the Pikachu back on her shoulder. "Let's go."
