- How to use the Toshiba Backup/Application CD Setup
- ---------------------------------------------------------------------------
- 1. Start Windows.
- 2. Insert the Toshiba Backup/Application CD-ROM into a CD-ROM drive.
- Wait a few seconds.
- 3. The 'Toshiba Application CD Setup' program window appears.
- 4. Click on one of the applications then click the 'Install' button to
- install the selected application.
- 5. Some applications require a special installation. However, an
- appropriate instruction will be provided.
- 6. To close the 'Toshiba Application CD Setup', click the 'Exit' button.
- NOTE: In some cases, you need to do the following to start the
- 'Toshiba Application CD Setup' again:
- - Press the Eject button on your CD device and press the same
- button again [and wait a few seconds] to start the TBCS.
- OR
- 1. Double-click on My Computer icon.
- 2. Double-click on CD-ROM drive applet.
- 3. The 'Toshiba Application CD Setup' should appear.

- For generalizing the instructions, assume that 'x' is the CD-ROM drive.
- Please, replace 'x' with your CD-ROM drive letter in the instructions below.

- Install C&T 65555 Display Drivers
- ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
- NOTE: PLEASE, INSTALL PANNING SUPPORT FIRST!!!
- If you need to update or change the display driver for Chips and Technologies driver,
- please refer to the section below.
- 1. Click Start button, then Settings, then Control Panel.
- 2. Double-click "Display" button.
- 3. Select the "Settings" tab, click the "Advanced Properties" button.
- 4. Click the "Change" button in the "Adapter" tab.
- 5. Click the "Have Disk" button.
- 6. Ensure the Application CD-ROM is inserted in the CD-ROM drive, type:
- X:\DISPLAY (assuming that x: is the CD-ROM drive)
- Then click "OK".
- 7. The "Select Device" dialog box appears. Select "Chips and Tech. 65555 PCI (TOSHIBA)"
- and click "OK".
- 8. Click the "Close" button.
- 9. In the "Display Properties", click on the "Color Palette" box and select
- "256 colors".
- 10. In the "Desktop area", drag the slider bar to "800 by 600 pixels".
- Click "OK".
- 11. Click the "Close" button.
- 12. Click "Yes" to restart the computer.

- INSTALL YAMAHA OPL3-SAX Sound Drivers
- ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
- 1. Remove 'Yamaha Sound Driver Information' file by:
- Open 'Explorer', click 'View' from menu bar, choose 'Options',
- click 'Show all files' and click 'OK'.
- 2. Locate 'c:\windows\inf\other\yamahasasound.inf' file and delete it.
- 3. From the Windows 95 Start Menu, select Settings and choose Control Panel.
- 4. In the Control Panel, choose the 'System' icon and choose the Device
- Manager tab.
- 5. Double-click the "Sound, video and game controllers".
- 6. Select the "YAMAHA OPL3-SAx Sound System". Click "Remove". Click "OK".
- 7. Click "Refresh".
- 8. Ensure that the backup CD is in the CD-ROM drive. Click "OK"
- 9. Click 'Other location', in the 'Location' box, type:
- 'X:\SOUND'
- click the 'OK' button.
- 10. If system asks for the location of sound driver files, type: 'X:\SOUND'.

- To install Toshiba Busmaster IDE drivers:
- ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
- 1. Click Start, choose Run,
- type:
- xcopy32 x:\busctrl\ide.pdr c:\windows\system\iosubsys
- xcopy32 x:\busctrl\ide.inf c:\windows\inf
- Close all programs running.
- 2. Click 'Start', 'settings', and then 'Control Panel'.
- 3. Double-click 'System', on the 'Device Manager' tab,
- double-click 'Hard disk controllers'.
- 4. For each item listed under 'Hard disk controllers', select it, and
- then click 'Remove' (there should only be one or two devices present)
- 5. Click 'Ok' when it gives you a warning that you are about to remove
- the deice.
- 6. Do not reboot until you remove all the devices under 'Hard disk controllers'.
- After removing the last device under 'Hard disk controller',
- click 'Yes' to reboot the system.
- 7. During reboot process, system will find TOSHIBA Standard IDE Controller.
- Follow the instructions in the Windows bootup screen.

- PCMCIA Support (PCMCIA.INF)
- ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
- PCMCIA.INF loads the drivers to enable the use of the PCMCIA card (PC card).
- To setup PCMCIA support, you must do the following steps:
- 1. In Windows 95, click Start, select Run. In the Run dialog box,
- type:
- xcopy32 X:\pcmcia\pcmcia.inf c:\windows\inf
- Click the "OK" button.
- 2. Shut down the computer, remove all physical devices from the PCMCIA slot and
- restart the computer.
- 3. Right-click on My Computer. Select Properties, then click the Device
- Manager tab.
- 4. Double-click "Other Devices".
- 5. There will be two devices named "PCI Cardbus Bridge". Update both by
- selecting the "PCI Cardbus Bridge". Click the "Remove" button, then
- click the "OK" button. (Please, remove all devices under PCMCIA socket also,
- if there is any.)
- 6. In the System Properties dialog box, click the "Refresh" button.
- 7. Click "Close" to close the System Properties dialog box.
- 8. Click "Yes" to restart the computer.
