- I guess the character arc was Ruthless bounty hunter out for himself -> humbled guy learning from Tuskens -> realizes value of community and looking out for each from Tuskens -> wants revenge for tusken deaths -> gets revenge (on wrong people) -> kills current crime boss (unrelated to Tuskens) -> becomes the crime boss -> is incredibly bad at being crime boss -> decides to be moral crime boss -> saves the city and is now a good guy?
- The other take I read was the whole thing makes sense if you look at it through the lens of Fett being the villain of the whole season (a la Michael Corleone in Godfather Part II). Every action he takes leads to more suffering and his heroic stand to "save" Mosa Espa only results in more death and destruction. This makes sense if not for the fact that there is nothing shown on screen to indicate that Fett is "bad." And recruiting the other hero-type characters to help out doesn't really jive with this take.
