  1. Another day and another puzzle done. Let's get it written up. Our puzzle started with
  2.
  3. ======Org Hint=====
  4. Merry Christmas Batboobs! Your old pal Eddie is back and he's ready for your screams of pain! If you thought my last puzzles were hard well you're in for a surprise this year. I like to think that my gift to you Anons every year is showing you what the human mind is capable of, well at least my human mind. So in that spirit let's begin. The first riddle is so easy I almost feel bad giving it to you. As always all answers are lowercase unless otherwise denoted.
  5.
  6. It's a chilly time of year, the kind of chill that makes you want to stay in and watch a movie. What movie would a tactical operator love? Remember some answers aren't as obvious as others and you may need to REMAIN COLD.

  10.
  11. Answer: frosty the snowman
  12. Many of you got confused with the first run hint. You made the mistake of thinking that REMAIN COLD->Stay Frost->Action movie saying stay frosty, rather than frosty the snowman, who was told to stay with the kids or, "stay frosty."
  13.
  14.
  15. Open the box and you get another hint 1 and another box.
  16.
  17. =======Hint 1=======
  18. What do all these things have in common?
  19. The height of young Rudolph from the stop motion movie
  20. The number of tracks on the Star Wars Christmas album
  21. Wilhousky's copyright of Carol of the Bells
  22. The Joker
  23.
  24. They are all _______
  25.
  26. Answer: squares
  27. The key to this puzzle is that you have to gather information that is not given to you. So the first thing you should do is start searching.
  28. *The height of young Rudolph from the stop motion movie (4 inches)
  29. *The number of tracks on the Star Wars Christmas album (9)
  30. *Wilhousky's copyright of Carol of the Bells (1936)
  31. If you know anything about numbers it's easy to see that those are all squares (2^2, 3^3, 44^2). The last hint is a red herring designed to break your train of thought. It's not a number and whatever could it be? Well Eddie is not above insults and let me tell you something about the Joker, he's a fucking square!
  32.
  33. Open the box and you get hint 2 and another box
  34.
  35. =======Hint 2=======
  36. With the 12 days of Christmas it helps to know what the cost. Perhaps you should check the price index and see something that Peter Parker would love
  37.
  38. Ans: six geese-a-laying
  39. The key to this puzzle is the 12 days of Christmas. This clue tells you that the answer will be in the 12 days of Christmas, a price index is involved and the answer will be something Peter Parker loves. So first things first, what price index could be help ful in this case? Why none other than the PNC Christmas Price Index! This index has been maintained for years and shows the cost of buying everything in the 12 days of Christmas. It is relatively easy to find so start searching! https://www.pnc.com/en/about-pnc/topics/pnc-christmas-price-index.html. Once you have the index you'll need a key, so how will we find our key? Well what would Peter Parker love? MARY JANE OF COURSE! But I don't see any Mary Jane, just a bunch of numbers.... Oh wait the price of $420 is mapped to "six geese-a-laying".
  40.
  41. Open the box and you get hint 3 and another box
  42.
  43. =======Hint 3=======
  44. Brr, do you feel that? It's the icy cold creeping failure. Perhaps you could use some
  45.
  46. (1/4)(v/h)
  47.
  48. Add On Hint: Hearing you all scream delights me so, if only I could "reduce the speed of sound" and enjoy it for longer.
  49.
  50.
  51. Answer: hot chocolate effect
  52. This answer ended up causing more issues than I planned. Initially I was hoping folks would be able to search enough given the equation to find the answer in some scientific papers, but unfortunately testing on a non biased PC showed that there were issues finding a definite tie to the key phrase given. In truth you do not need any math or science to solve this riddle as you are simply looking for something Christmas related that ties to the keyword, but given the difficulty of finding the answer I gave an add on hint to help. Which if you search will yield several results, one of them being the answer itself and the other being a paper discussing how the effect is used to slow the speed of sound. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hot_chocolate_effect
  53.
  54. Open the box and you get the final hint.
  55.
  56. =======Final Hint=======
  57. Well, well, well, color me surprised. You've beat my puzzle. Now hurry to the thread and write "I'm a silly billy willy and I like my gifts all frilly", don't forget to add your gift list.
  58.
  59. And that's it!
