**Byrmark Halcard**

PERSONALITY:  Byrmark is a laid-back, easygoing fellow, but he can get down to business when required -- although he's not too strict and likes to relax, he knows when to be serious and he's not going to let you get away with anything.  He tries to be friendly to those in the crew, but in reality doesn't really feel particularly close to any of them, being surprisingly introverted despite seeing everyone on a regular basis.
SKILLS:  Byrmark is a skilled soldier, tactician,, and leader, having served as a military officer prior to joining this expedition.  He is also quite intelligent, but never really applied himself.  He still doesn't, if he's being honest with himself.  Due to a combat injury he has cybernetically repaired/augmented limbs and an eye.
FEARS:  Byrmark's number one fear is failure.  He likes to be in control of the situation and although he's not obsessed with attention or anything, being seen as a failure is his number one fear.

HISTORY:  Byrmark was born to a businessman and a stay-at-home mom in 3027.  His grandfather had served with distinction in the military and Byrmark always looked up to him, and attended an officer academy as soon as he could.  After graduating Byrmark continued to serve and hone his skills, and was eventually tasked to head the Eden expedition's security force.
RELATIONSHIPS:  None as of right now.  He's friendly with most of the expedition crew, but he doesn't feel truly close to anybody...

APPEARANCE:  Byrmark has dark hair and a trimmed beard, with brown eyes.  He has a square jaw and perpetual squint, but his facial wrinkles indicate he smiles a great deal.  He wears standard-issue robotic armor, with some modifications to allow for integration into standard spacesuit systems when he goes outside the compound.
