In my view the BBC
Program is just Nonsense. They interviews me 3 hours and cut 2 or 3 sentences
out which fit in their context, but did not reflect what I wanted to say. They
even let me not finish my statements in the Film.



I was in touch with BBC
asking them to send me any information about the evidence they hold against Ray
Adams, so I could verify what it was. But I never got anything from them. And
they ignored my completely. After I wrote to them how can you be a serious
about your program when you have a chance from me to verify what you have?
I think that I proofed in 2002 that I am not afraid to tell the truth no matter
what. So I offered my help in order to verify the piece of info they have. But
I got no response. After I send plenty of old mail from around that time to
Vivian and Alistair at the BBC. Mails from Gibling to NDS which Ray Adams
forwarded to me as he can't understand technical issues, he was only doing
investigations into pirates and delegate relevant stuff to the persons in charge
at NDS and even to the Competitors of NDS when it was concerning tem. The mail
showed in the BBC was actually not coming from Adams it was send to Adams and
he forwarded it to me in order to check what it was. Given the Relation I had
with Gilles who was Head of Security at Canal he also send it to him in order
to let him know about it. One cold Also notice that the Sender was not revealed
and that Ray was the receiver of that mail and not the sender and it also
stated in the show that that key was posted in another forum. I goggled the Key
and found it still today in sat4all forum. It was posted there on the 11th some
days before. So a person forwarded it to Adams picking it up from the net and forwarded
it for information to verify and Adams acted accordingly.  Further that mail contained more text above
the statement, which was an advertisement of a UK dealer offering On Digital
Cards for sale, and that other message was just in the reply part.

So its was even
manipulated. I have that Mail and many others that’s why I offered to help the
BBC to fin they truth of that as I am 100% sure that Adams cant do such things
himself. I know him very well and he struggles using a computer so I am amused
how an ex Yard Commander become the On Digital Hacker J: nice one. Only dummies can believe that.



Anyway Adams was always
sending information of technical nature to me formation stuff to Me, as I was
his interface and technical advisor and he was awaiting my response. In the
Case of THOIC I gave him little response. I recall that I told him once stop
hunting flies. Those pseudo Hackers are of no importance at all. The play in a
different leak and if you want to go after them you have to go after bizillions
of university students who play at home with their card and enable the porn channels
J. So in that way I got plenty of Mails from
Gibling to NDS and NDS to me sending Keys, card software, basically everything
which Gibling collected from the forum and found to be interesting to have a
closer look at. But it never even got my attention once. Always the same little
info’s and docs which where scattered all over the net. Copy’s and forwards of
info’s docs and keys from a to B and back and links to other forums who have
keys software programs etc. Nothing really important ever came from THOIC. That
was also the reason why Canal did not use THOIC in the Allegations. It was just
one more forum among hundreds of others, and not even a good one.



If there was a serious
hack about to come I was the first to know and I always did know before NDS.
Not to forget that I was working for NDS, Nagra, Canal, Canal Techno. And In all
of their investigation teams and I was becoming close to either of the parties and
had all insides. At One stage even Direct TV try to hire me for 2 Millions
a Year but I refused as I could smell another litigation and I had enough of
Corporate Games.



During the Canal
Investigation Canals security department had a close look at THOIC but they did
not found anything of interest there, which was not everywhere else to find.
And THOIC had not really interesting stuff. There where much more sophisticated
forums with all keys, key extractors and software to load in all sorts of
emulation cards.



Given all the above facts
"why should NDS promote a hack on THOIC which could be found everywhere on
the net. I still have a large archive of that time period which was compiled by
the Canal Investigation team. And the word THOIC is only one time inside and
that only as a link among links to other forums.



The only nice statement
was from Francois Carayol. He told everything whats is needed to know in order
to understand that issue. He said that the DR7 Rom publication did not allow
anybody to view the program as it was missing the Keys from the EEPROM and that
was not on that website DR7. And he described it in a way for the laymen to
understand. It showed the hackers where to drill the hole into the safe. In
technical terms: There where plenty of Software bugs inside the System, which
allowed the extraction of the keys from genuine cards. But this info was also
not published. Hackers had to study the Rom code and find those bugs. This
involves some brainwork and some technical skills about machine language and
how to read it. Further Some info how to exploit such bugs. And those mistakes
where also in NDS Cards just many Years before. And NDS has learned how to
avoid such bugs in the future products. So Canal was just some Years behind. By
way of Example the SECA Card was a ST16SF49 and an Infineon SLE44. Both Cards where
used in the PayTV marked Years before, and where also cracked before. In my
case I cracked the Sky09 which was a Motorola 6805 similar to the ST16 and the
Sky10 which was the very same Card that Canal Techno used years later. There
where also docs around the net showing what should be avoided in the
development and what are common bugs that engineers always do. Well what is
more to say they had those common bugs and that’s why there was a massive
piracy and not because of the Rom publication. As that Card was hacked before,
Years before it was sure as night will follow day that it would have been
hacked again. No matter DR7 ROM. Same goes for Echo Star System. The case is
one big Muppets Show.  I showed in my
Paper with Markus from Cambridge in 1999 how to crack with easy simple methods
those cards. And I know few persons who did that in their kitchen. Even with
the Nagra Card, which came after (ST19).



I know the System inside
out as I designed MGV1+ for Canal+ afterwards. The simple issue was that the software
contained bugs, mistakes every company does including NDS. In the past I found
them in NDS Cards and later helped NDS to align their way of thinking like a
hacker does. NDS picked up with an open mind those ideas and secured their
products respectively. Therefore they become the market Leader in Terms of
Security. I can say with no doubt in my mind that NDS is many Years ahead in
their way of thinking today and they anticipate a lot what pirates can do and
what NDS can do in order to prevent it or fight against it. And further
the Nagra Cards today are safer because of NDS and Me. This is because Nagra
purchased the C+ Techno afterwards and continued what I started. An in the end
those Concepts are joined developments and evolutions which we did in NDS
Haifa. And not secretly attacking they competition.



Back to my statement in
the Interview. I told Vivian that the Marketing Department has always asked the
technical staff about the security of the competitor. This is quiet normal and
I have seen that in any company I have worked for. It is an important Info if
you negotiate a deal with the Broadcaster you want to have arguments why Yours
is better than the others. One can see that in every company in the world his
is common biz. Practice, there is nothing unusual with that.



Also the statement about
Murdoch’s Hackers is silly. Well I was NDS most valuable Asset and I can't
really say that NDS is a bad company as its always showed in the press. I saw
more or less the same with all the others I was working for and they are all
the same. When I told Yosie (CTO NDS)
in 2001 that I can't stay with NDS if there is this press scandal story as it
would affect my business ADSR. He respond to me "Do you think that
the others are any better?" Well now 10 Years later I understand how wise
this man was. In fact he was right. I have seen inside the big corporations and
their Games and battles. Today I see this all from a different perspective.

It is a big Pool of
Sharks and they don't like each other as it is in biz world. One day they are
friends the next enemy's. Always do what suits the current situation bests.
And of Course Uncle Rupert is Australian (Shark’y)
and therefore a “Great White One” And the other don’t like that.



Deep inside myself I was
an Idealist and I believe that the world could be much better place. This
Idealism fainted when I was reading F.N. "Beyond Good and Evil". He
had the guts to speak out who we really are, when no one else dared to do so,
at that some time ago. And we are like that all of us. Some just cope with it
and others are still stuck in discovering themselves. Its Sad but its how this
world works. Plamen (Bulgarian Hacker working for the KGB) a good friend
of mine and one of the persons who I consider equal to me and my skills once told
me "I don't make the rules I just try my best to follow them, if I like it
or not". And in that way every company is forced, into todays world.

Its a bit silly this
sledge hammer action what Gibing described. As Nr 1 Hacker as BBC called him in
the end. He should know that every serious Technical person just encrypts the
Discs if there is anything to protect. And on the other side he was running a
public side so all info was public or with other forum members. So why does he
need to destroy anything what is public anyway. For me complete fiction. Id
like to watch him with the hammer on the Hard drives :-) nice stuff for a Movie
(made in Hollywood).
