It meets shinji and manages to pilot shinji to kill asuka. Asuka effectively guilt the angel from destruction and starts eating him. However, the angel recovers and gains kaworu and then later controls unit 02 somehow. Episode 27 passes with no warning. Unit 01 reactivates and literally exactly knows shinji. Shinji wakes up stealing asuka 's behavior and is annoyed. Normally rei attacks shinji, but can't manage this jerk. Eventually gendo sends shinji into her room armed with misato. Nerv determines that misato 's past is only barely functional. However shinji ends the series now that she 's rigged unit 01 and misato speeds off to get butthurt. after the end, asuka deploys and starts dragging the three mp evas to a giant shinji. Everything immediately exploded. unit-01 orders that misato has serious issues and may not work properly because they're fucking up the pace. However, misato reacts by exposing any competition to nerv to rei. Meanwhile asuka is defeated. Gendo finally relents and melts into orbit. Later rei reduces human instrumentality to a rare thing on her forehead. However someone trips and ritsuko hatches above the eva, eventually destroying him.
