- I haven't done one of these in a long time so ill go over what has been going on both gaming and IRL for the past 2-3 months.
- Speedruns:
- Grinded DK64 for a while, i dont feel much motivation to play that game for now, tho i will do the bingo league every saturday night at the very least. Bingo is still fun but i wish i could be better at it sometimes. Took a long break from DKR, mostly because i did not feel like playing and also because my dkr controller stick broke in half, came back about a week ago to do some time trials with my dk64 controller and it has been fun. Ill probably do some more in the next weeks. Haven't played Banjo in a long time, it will come back at some point in april for the may tournament. I will try to practice movement and strat alot.
- Ive also been thinking about giving yooka-laylee a shot when it comes out, if the game is fun i might run it.
- IRL:
- Been trying to find a job for a long time. As some of you know, i quit my job/school about 5 months ago because i could not handle the situation i was in with depression and all the stuff that comes with that. The past 2 weeks, ive been recieving calls for jobs after a long period of nothing. One of the employer that wanted me offered me contract today. Normaly i would have been really happy as i have been waiting this for a long time. But i had to say no.
- It was really hard to say no but there is a few thing that i could not really go over that really bothered me with the job. First, the job required me to traval long distance by both car and plane depending on the location and would mean i would be away from home most of the time and driving on the road alot. This might not be a problem you might think, but i live in a region where everything is really far apart and mostly with very small villages and infrastructure like roads and airport are far from being the greatest. I also live really far north and the conditions can very quickly go very bad and being stuck in the middle of litteraly no were is not fun.
- Second, they only paid me a very small amout for what the job was, like barely enough to pay rent and stuff like that. Nothing i can save for stuff like GDQ or any stuff i would like to do/buy that would be a bit expensive, like upgrading my 7 year old pc for instance. Also, one of my plans is to move closer to the big city's and that would make it even worse.
- I guess what im trying to say here is that if you are in a position where you can afford to refuse a job offer because it goes too far away from what you want, dont be scared to say no. It was a difficult decision at first, but i am lucky enough to have supportive parents behind me that just wants me to be happy. And i knew for sure that the work condition and the salary vs what i would like in my future is too far appart for me too accept. Im happy that i chose my well being over accepting because i am desperate to gain any little bit of money.
- Now, ill continu to search for more jobs. I also have plans go to back to school if i can't find anything. It wont be the same program/school as before because i dont wanna get as depressed and sad as i was 5 months ago. I never wanna feel like that ever again.
- Car update:
- If you followed my twitter today, you probably saw that i got towed because some dumb piece of metal half disconected from my car and it was sliding on the ground causing a gazillion sparks under my car. Apparently it was only some protector that fell of due to rust and a shock (it did come off as i hit a prety big bump on the road), but they just remove it because apparently its not really usefull anyway and i just drove the car home after that. So i guess everything is fine in the end. But now i starting to realised how old my car is and i hope nothing else comes up until i switch to a newer one.
- So thats what has been going on with me. Reminder to always strive to be happy and never let go of what you want for yourself and you future self.
- Mornin
