  1. [04:05] After compiling some of the data on using storing spells within rifts Eniel begins to decode more prominent ways he could use such techniques by listing out various methods this form of casting could be conceptualized.
  2.
  3. The main focus of Riftmancy was after all the manipulation of the lifestream to move energy and matter from one place to another. Thus Eniel focused mostly on moving and storing energy. While he couldn't truly use riftmancy for anything besides storing objects and with great strain he could bring out a few minor Nethradin. But as he continued his studies of Nyphadora's Archived tome he began to think of ways he could expand upon what he already knew and help to increase those theories.
  4.
  5. Rift storage worked by folding space around an object so it could be place away from the flow of the lifestream and such a thing could be done with mana as well...but Eniel wondered just how much mana could be stored away in a Rift and also how much mana could bereleased after being stored for so long.
  6.
  7. Taking his time to create small rifts Eniel would light the brazier within his lab with Crimson Cosmic magic. Aiming to see if he could store corrupted magics within A rift hoping the energy would compound in some sort of way. He worked for a while organizing the runes and making sure the brazier stayed lit...after all maintaining raw star energy was exhausting...he mostly relied on the Grimoire's chaotic power to stokes the star fire when he was preforming rituals.
  8.
  9. Through some trial and error with the runes Eniel finally got the right combination and sequence of runes down for what he wanted to accomplish. The rift spell would work in three parts and required three different runes to power it.
  10. (Eniel Daigal)
  11. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  12.
  13. [04:23] The First rune, Was a simple and elegant character, Not to hard to remember and drawing the symbol with the crimson star mana made it all the more interesting. As described in Nyphadora's Archives it was the rune used to invert space around an area filled with mana, Mostly during riftmancy it would be used to relocate an area one has marked prior to begin the process of creating a rift. Of course using runes were just training wheels most master Riftmancers could do so by memory so it wasn't always commonly used.
  14.
  15.
  16. The second rune would be used to store and hold the mana within that place in the same state as before. As Eniel had did his research he knew that the state of mana and the passage of time within the lifestream was far less slow than others. Thus something quick like a flashing burst of lightning could exist within the flow of the lifestream for as long as it could be contained...Which gave Eniel some ideas about how he could better use his storage ability to contain Nethradin...If he was able to create a folded space large enough to hold multiple creatures he could summon and unsummon them at his leisure...although he felt he needed far more control of his power before hand.
  17.
  18. The third rune used a unique formation of smaller runes to draw in energy from the surrounding lifestream and expand upon said mana within the 'rift hold'. He thought the order of runes himself and after many attempts to get the combination correctly he finally found this was the best possible way to do it after looking through and researching A few things in Dawns Library. While Eniel was no runescribe the art did fascinate him and he spend some time in his youth practicing the pictures despite not having any actual talent in using them.
  19.
  20. The process to store mana or essentially a spell within a runes was simple. But required a lot of preparation and know how, Maintaining too much energy would cause the fold to be unstable and attempting to envelope an immensely powerful spell would be nearly impossible at Eniel's level of mastery with rifts. So the idea came to him as he was training in the sparring fields of Dawn. There was no need to store an already powerful spell when he could make the spell more powerful as it drew in energy from the lifestream.
  21.
  22. Eniel focused on creating a rift, Drawing the runes out of star mana he'd allow for space and time to be inverted by a minor degree a small breach opened up and Eniel used that time start gathering his lightning into a spell that gathered a minimal amount of mana. As he pushed it through the vortex he'd then close the warp and aim to allow it to linger within that space for 5 minutes. To see just how more potent the spell would be at this stage.
  23.
  24. After the time had passed he unfolded the space while aiming the rift towards a target practice dummy, and like a bat out of hell the bolt of lightning came back invigorated by the lifestreams mana and shot out towards the dummy with great force...about as much power as would have been used if Eniel hadn't used a minor amount of his own mana. What this test showed him was that with enough time within the folded space and being able adhere to the energy in the lifestream a spell could get more powerful...A theory that seemed capable of course if people could bend the lifestream with the arcane why could they not siphon its power with Riftmancy?
  25. (Eniel Daigal)
  26. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  27.
  28. [04:40] As Eniel continued to store and use a multitude of tactics to amplify his skills and utilizing Rift as a method of attacking he was beginning to find a more clear method of using rifts his general ideal for the study of riftmancy after all was to learn how to summon and unsummon things and it was mostly what he aimed to study for. Although being caught up in its ability to move freely throughout the lifestream was a perk he enjoyed he knew that the majority of his time spend accessing and researching Riftmancy would largely be focused on that.
  29.
  30. And since he felt more comfortable learning more so from Nyphadora's tome he aimed to study the various summoning techniques he felt it would be better to help him achieve his ultimate goal in summoning a Nethradin Primal...or perhaps even an Apostle of Belial once he got true mastery of it. While he would still have to learn the arcane and binding techniques he felt learning how to do simple things was best.
  31.
  32. Pouring over Nyphadora's note she wasn't quite the summoner but she placed in a few small bits of information here and there. She exclaimed that to first begin summoning it would be good to note that summoning of spirits with Riftmancy would not be the same as aiming to summon spirits with advanced Spiritmancy, Any spirit that would willingly or against their will appear from behind a rift would only have an agenda for destruction thus one must be prepared to engage and subdue any said spirit, Nethradin, Wraith, or otherwise unsavory phantom in combat.
  33.
  34. As she went on next the first step to practice is to know what you intend to summon, Nethradin being the most difficult while spirits of unsavory or otherwise evil people tend to be less combative but more so involved with what your doing some even apricating your summoning. She goes on further to explain that in order to summon a Nethradin one must have the same desire as they do the same will and unbridled passion for destruction connecting to the plain of Helheim has a set mindset that needs that person to be absolutely corrupted beyond help.
  35.
  36. Thus its more common to see Chaos magi or magi who have mastered multiple chaotic arts to be in great synch with Hellhiem...as Eniel continued he thought it could only make sense his connection with Belial and the use of the moon gem made it somewhat less of a strain to connect to the Nethradin's world yet he knew without these things he would be at a lost to find Helheim from scratch. Nypha explains that spirits are a bit more finky than Nethradin while its clear that the Rift itself is filled with depraved magics and spirits who cross through would be undoubtedly effected in various ways it is uncertain to say for sure how that would manifest within a spirit.
  37.
  38. Eniel would continue reading and researching thinking of Nyphadora's words, It only made sense being that Nethradin were already corrupted spirits, Untainted or rather benevolent spirits who would be pressed or forced through a rift would be exposed to extreme amounts of chaotic energy and being that their bodies were mostly comprised of mana they would find it difficult to resist the chaos that flows into them their bodies being so much more attached to the energy around them. Even in studies of spirits in Gehenna Eniel found that they were largely effected by the surroundings usually turning things up on their heads from the wild chaotic nature of the Savage main lands.
  39. (Eniel Daigal)
  40. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  41.
  42. [04:56] Eniel then began to practice the Rift summoning techniques Nyphadora had laid out for anyone who was thinking about utilizing such a section of Riftmancy while it was uncanny there were a few like Eniel and Sors who found such topics interesting. Nyphadora suggested using an inanimate object to begin and then to work up towards animals and then smaller spirits or Nethradin. As Eniel had predicted prior the use of Rift storage on a more complex stage was required to utilize these techniques. So Eniel decided to use an object that meant more to him than most things his moon gem, Using this for the purpose of developing his summoning techniques seemed adequate after all first got the idea of moving things through rifts to himself from this object and he felt the more he cared for something the better it would be.
  43.
  44. Eniel began the first step as Nyphadora claimed. The object would have to be set somewhere Eniel couldn't find or had no idea about it and he would have to focus on that objects particular mana flow, But it also helped if knew more about it, everything from the objects weight, mass density color shape the more he knew about the object the better it would be to make it appear from a rift of his creation. And thus he began his training exorcises of visualization of the object feeling it placing it within his mouth and holding it in-between his hands for long periods of time.
  45.
  46. After a few hours of holding it he had one of his Moonshadow's hide the stone away somewhere Eniel had no idea about. But close enough for Eniel to not strain himself in moving it back to him. As he opened up a small rift he began to think deeply about the object making the rift take shape of the object and fit into the palm of his hand manipulating it shifting and bending the tear within his palms he continued to focus on doing this for a while aiming to thing more heavily on what he could do to better educate himself on how rifts could be managed. Remembering Nyphadora's words, He'd remember when he was a young child learning rift for the first time how it intrigued him how enthusiastic it was for him.
  47.
  48. As he did so he could feel the mass in his hands the stone that he had gotten to be more than familiar with and its unique mana that spilled from it as well. As Eniel focused on that feeling he would begin to do the same process as he did when he captured the Nethradin Imps. Chaining Rifts together to form a box like a capture cube. Bending and folding the space and time around that object until its atoms were distorted and broken apart and stored in its own separate space.
  49.
  50. As he lingered on that feeling of wanting that thing in front of him he willed it towards him, His attituded set on summoning that objected into his hands remembering the outlines and ridges the Gem had and once he did he could feel it the rift he had been shaping in between his palms began to stretch and bend into what eventually began the Moon Gem. The very same one that he had been aiming to grasp. A successful summoning of an object...and although Eniel could've accomplished the same thing with Rift storage he knew he could forcefully bring objects to him now.
  51.
  52. Although he needed to master this technique without requiring such a long time and the need of so much extensive information which would require even further study. Which made him refocus his attention to Nyphadora's journals once more.
  53. (Eniel Daigal)
  54. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  55.
  56. [05:06] With his method of summoning being developed Eniel continued to practice the hold and pull method of summoning, By stitching rifts together he could create a prison that isolated whatever target he was hoping to summon, Then pulling the target out of said space by forcing the targets body to separate and be stored within the flow of the lifestream.
  57.
  58. Then with the same box formation Eniel could push the very same mana signatures together in the same order it was taken out and being that most spirits and Nethradin were usually comprised of mana as long as they could reconstitute with their cores it wouldn't effect them as long as their cores were intact...despite the unrivaled amount of pain they would feel as their bodies were being torn apart and reshaped in Eniel's world
  59.
  60.
  61. That being said Eniel felt with more time he could reshape the spirits and Nethradin however he wanted. Although it was merely a working theory he stemmed off his earlier experiments of storing mana within storage holds. If a spirit was placed into a rift hold that held an immense amount of corrupted mana, The very same Mana Eniel was expert in controlling and manipulating he could possibly shape the appearance and warp the personality of whatever he summons into something different...
  62.
  63. Of course that was merely a working theory he wrote down during his research and testing sessions. After working on a couple of ideas within his grimoire he decided to start again in moving up the scale of using riftmancy. His next task being was to move a daemon from one location to in front of him. Without getting near or touching the creature...
  64.
  65.
  66. Although to say it worked out as much as one could've expected, He rifted Daemons inside out and upside down and mostly they came through the rifts dead or dismembered in some fashion. After all getting the structure of an Organic creature to summon to you was a difficult thing to do...Eniel understood more or less why Nyphadora used runes to mark people she wanted to summon.
  67. (Eniel Daigal)
  68. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  69.
  70. [05:17] As Eniel continued to further his knowledge of Riftmancy he'd be able to understand more of what constitutes a rift and how he can bend the manipulation of them to suit his needs. Although he had been stuck for some time he realized just how versatile Rift Magic could be.
  71.
  72. While other magics focused on merely defense, offence, or supplementary Benefits Riftmancy could be used for all three and at the same time. Eniel began to expand upon his knowledge of summoning runes studying the nature and characteristics of each one.
  73.
  74. While they were immensely complex and far out of his scope with his current skills he felt learning how they looked and how they interacted with other magics would be beneficial for him in the future once he mastered Riftmancy completely.
  75.
  76. As he got more familiar with the runes and the mana signature he started to assemble different patterns within his own mind on how he should set up Rifts and summoning techniques. When Eniel was a child he couldn't have imagined tearing holes in the lifestream would be taking up so much of his time studying but as he got older and more and more frustrated in learning Riftmancy he realized this wouldn't be something he could sit and master in a day or a few years.
  77.
  78. He had to devote his life to this...to the art he wanted to create in summoning chaotic spirits and Nethradin. While Dawn devoted its time to Necromancy Eniel wanted to spend his years pushing the boundaries and limits of the Arcane and of Riftmancy. They were his life's goals...and he valued them just as much as he hated them...they required a lot and he had given it his all to push himself to figure out the puzzle of acquiring them.
  79.
  80. And when he thought more about a puzzle he realized. He did remember Sors speaking about a puzzle contraption he used to gain proper control of riftmancy magic and Eniel considered various ways he could refocus his own power to learn that...He had learned most of what he knew from books and his own experimentation as well as a few suggestions form Sors and Nyphadora....but Sors words always rang in the back of his mind.
  81.
  82. 'Think Bigger' What could he possibly do to expand upon Riftmancy? Despite being a prodigy he did not consider himself a genius or anyway innovative...He had developed a method of summoning that had not yet existed and even that felt small to the strides Sors had done...Yet still he did not compare himself to his master they were completely different people with goals that happened to align for now at least...which in some ways he was greatful for.
  83. (Eniel Daigal)
  84. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  85.
  86. [05:29] As Eniel continued to think and expand upon what knowledge he knew of Rifts he allowed for the past 8 years of studying the art to flow back into his memories. From the first few things Nyphadora taught him when he learned how to connect the lifestream and sense it within all things big or small...it was also what lead him down the path of learning and figuring out the Arcane existed.
  87.
  88. His love for Belial even influenced his Riftmancy in someway The freedom to want to connect to places beyond Eternia the ability to summon to Agartha an Apostle and to invigorate the world within Belial's light once again...He had many plans so many goals to achieve and accomplish and with this magic he felt he could do those things.
  89.
  90. As he was pondering his motivations and lessons once more he began to read the second level of Rift Summoning The craft required tact and it couldn't merely be accomplished by opening a rift and hoping something would wander close enough to be caught...just like the act of opening and closing a rift didn't show any real mastery with the techniques involved.
  91.
  92. And the technique he chose to study today was the summoning technique known as banishment. While it was always a capable method the power to summon things also entailed the power to remove things away from him his person. Or in the case of an Unsavory Nethradin releasing them from the ties to their master.
  93.
  94. While Eniel could bring things to himself with great concentration the technique to move things away from himself came with some difficulty. While he knew how the mana around himself would react when something came towards him through a rift to open a rift at a distance and focus an object to appear there was even more difficult than he had expected...
  95.
  96. It reminded him of his training with Nyphadora to learn how to store things within rifts. Even if he could store objects within them and remove them the concepts were different folding the space round himself meant he could always unfold it to gain whatever object he required.
  97.
  98. It required for him not only to be in synch with said object but with the space he intended to move it to as well..
  99. (Eniel Daigal)
  100. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  101.
  102. [05:42] But as he was reminded of his uses of Riftmancy he remembered watching Nyphadora being able to teleport people with just a few motions. Thus Eniel would aim to visualize the concepts of moving something away from him while it sat in the midst of the rune circle and to move it onto his desk.
  103.
  104. It took him a few hours to get the hang of it the ability to move matter and energy to and from himself required a distinct trait and creativity that he seemed to lack prior to shutting himself in his research. Despite not yet having the proper ability to open the rifts he felt his research on summoning and forgoing the rifts worked out well.
  105.
  106. All he had to do next was develop a method of utilizing the summoning and banishment techniques in combat, The power to move spells and to and away from him could be an interesting one...especially if he could move his foe closer to him while moving their spells away from them or possibly even redirecting that same energy back towards them...
  107.
  108. Eniel knew the road to gaining more knowledge in Riftmancy was a long one and one he would walk through his entire life but the more he studied it despite not having any real support beyond his master and Gisei he felt more accustomed to the potential of becoming a powerful Riftmancer...
  109.
  110. As he began to develop new techniques in summoning and in combat he thought of ways his techniques and spells he uses already cloud flourish by Storing pockets of mana and reshaping it instead of using his own mana reserves to cast spells. Despite being so far away from learning Riftmancy he felt like he was at the edge of a break through and he continued to put in time to research and develop a new way to cast spells through rifts.
