- Homework: p. 76 "Truth or myth?" 1-6 at the bottom of the page
- (find out if each one is true or a myth)
- What does their doctor say?
- 1 Myth: The important thing is what you eat and how much you eat, not when.
- 2 Truth: In the winter we spend more time indoors and near other (possibly infected) people. Also, being cold lowers our bodies' immune defenses, so even if you don't spend more time around other people, you're more likely to get sick in cold weather.
- 3 Truth: A few people every year get electrocuted through their plumbing during lightning storms. Some of them die.
- 4 Myth: It causes temporary strain, but it goes away when you're in normal light.
- 5 Truth: Mosquitoes react differently to different chemicals in your breath and sweat.
- 6 Myth: 25% of bottled water comes from city taps
- 1/3 of bottled water was contaminated with unacceptable levels of chemicals

- artist should be creative
- classic or old things can be art
- must be intended as art
- must be seen as art by other people
- special/interesting / it takes hard work to make it

- - Find something (picture, sound, sculpture, poem) which maybe some people believe is art, but other people would say it's not art. "Borderline" art.

- (New York Metropolitan Museum of Art - a lot of old, fine art)
- http://www.moma.org/explore/collection/index (modern art - probably good examples)
- (ICA - Institute of Contemporary Art - also modern with some good examples)
- - Be prepared to (briefly) explain why some people can think it's art and why other people might disagree.
