  1. <Samstrel> "Well, I suppose I'll start with how I got here. After you arrived on this land, i was on the island you were on. Though, all of a sudden, i was grabbed and taken somewhere and I did not know where I was."
  2. <Samstrel> "It turned out, that the two... grey creatures, not sure of their name or species, took me here."
  3. <Samstrel> "All of the memorabilia from our home was here already."
  4. <Faerzen_Norstov> "Well I must say that particular detail is borderline disturbing."
  5. <Samstrel> "I don't know much about how it got here, but from then on, they took care of me."
  6. <Samstrel> "Which, is good. I wouldn't have survived otherwise."
  7. <Samstrel> "They may know more. I sat with them for a while, and they are able to draw pictures. I've become good at determining what they are saying."
  8. <Samstrel> "If you have questions, I may be able to translate what their answers are."
  9. <Faerzen_Norstov> "How then have you perportedly met those creatures over a month ago when we have only arrived in this strange land a couple of days ago?"
  10. <Samstrel> "They said that?"
  11. <Samstrel> "They may not have a good sense of time."
  12. <Faerzen_Norstov> "That is what I was supposing to be the most likely explanation, but I wished to corroborate their account with you before coming to any conclusions."
  13. <Samstrel> "We can walk out and talk to them, if you like."
  14. <Faerzen_Norstov> "Perhaps that would be a prudent course of action. However, I do have a couple of questions to ask you before such an event takes place."
  15. * Faerzen_Norstov withdraws from his bag the note he found inside the journal
  16. <Samstrel> "Go ahead."
  17. <Samstrel> "Oh, you found that."
  18. <Faerzen_Norstov> "This note appears to be from you, dated the day before the meteors fell."
  19. <Samstrel> "That is true."
  20. <Faerzen_Norstov> "In it, you describe the great deal of information that you seem to have collected over your research of my father's research, and how you know of a 'quest' I will embark on."
  21. <Samstrel> "Your father estimated it would happen when it did."
  22. <Samstrel> "I wrote that in case I never saw you again."
  23. <Samstrel> "Yes, the quest."
  24. <Faerzen_Norstov> "Is that why you said 'I hope you find solace in knowing that even though you cannot see me, I am always there.'?"
  25. <Samstrel> "All the information I knew, I wrote down in those journals."
  26. <Samstrel> "Yes."
  27. <Faerzen_Norstov> "You presumed that when the events which father was studying took place, that you would not be with me during said events?"
  28. <Samstrel> "Not necessarily."
  29. <Samstrel> "I wrote them in the instance I couldn't tell you myself for some reason."
  30. <Faerzen_Norstov> "Where were you--and by extension he--able to obtain all of this information that led you to be able to write such a note prior to our entry into this twisted game of SABATH?"
  31. <Samstrel> "I did my research through his."
  32. <Samstrel> "His research, I have no idea."
  33. <Faerzen_Norstov> "Have you found any indication whatsoever in his research as to where he was obtaining his information?"
  34. <Samstrel> "No idea."
  35. <Faerzen_Norstov> "Perplexing."
  36. <Faerzen_Norstov> "As much as I indulged myself in embracing you earlier, I still have reason to believe that you are a construction of this game and not my real mother. Can you provide any convincing evidence of your identity as my real mother and not a generation of SABATH?"
  37. <Faerzen_Norstov> "Unfortunately, I can say the 'copy' of my mother that died when we arrived here most definitely had blood, so your previous display with the pin is insufficient."
  38. <Samstrel> "What can I do to prove it?"
  39. <Faerzen_Norstov> "Given your intellectual prowess in academic proof, I was hoping that you could tell me. Perhaps tell me something we know that only you could truly know that the game could hopefully not replicate? Describe to me why it would not be in the SABATH's interest to create a copy of you in the first place? Honestly, given the power of this game, I find it unlikely that there exists an airtight method of proof of your
  40. <Faerzen_Norstov> identity."
  41. <Samstrel> "When your father died, I know you tried to stay strong. I heard you in your room every night for weeks sobbing. You were so young, but you felt the loss. Your father's death changed you, in a way I cannot explain."
  42. <Faerzen_Norstov> "....."
  43. <Samstrel> "I couldn't think of anything else, for you to believe me."
  44. * Faerzen_Norstov sits there, still somewhat shocked by his mother's statement about his emotional displays despite what he remembers as a time when he tried to hide his pain so very much
  45. <Faerzen_Norstov> "V...."
  46. * Faerzen_Norstov takes a deep breath
  47. <Faerzen_Norstov> "Very well. I suppose that is all I can hope for."
  48. <Faerzen_Norstov> "Before we engage the two creatures, I believe it would be wise to make you aware of two additional entities which have been partaking in this conversation, though you may not have known."
  49. * Faerzen_Norstov holds up the black feathered crow mask
  50. <Faerzen_Norstov> "This is a mask that once belonged to my friend Nick before he left to wreak havoc around our game session."
  51. <Faerzen_Norstov> "It is inhabited by a sentient being named Abyss, and Abyss was used by Nick to murder nearly everyone in our game. As would be expected, Abyss is quite scarred from the jarring experience, as well as several assaults from my fellow teammates, so I have taken him under my protection for the time being."
  52. * Faerzen_Norstov puts on the mask, thinking to Abyss
  53. <Faerzen_Norstov> *Abyss, I apologize for the moment of absence. I wished to have a face to face discussion with that whom I hope to be my mother. If you so wish, you may say hello, though I do not wish to pressure you into anything.*
  54. <Samstrel> *Oh... Hi Faerzen..*
  55. <Samstrel> *Hi Faerzen's Mom...*
  56. <Faerzen_Norstov> "Mother, I apologize if at times I am slow to respond. I communicate telepathically with Abyss, and try as I might, occasionally it is too much to juggle so many conversations simultaneously."
  57. <Samstrel> "Well, that's alright."
  58. <Faerzen_Norstov> *How are you doing, Abyss? I hope that recent altercation with the great monster was not too jarring for you. I am afraid I got rather carried away.*
  59. <Faerzen_Norstov> "Thank you."
  60. <Samstrel> *I think I'm okay... You're nice to me, so that's good.."
  61. <Faerzen_Norstov> *Very well. I do hope you can excuse me whilst I continue to attend to some important business here.*
  62. * Faerzen_Norstov picks up the silver circlet/crown
  63. <Samstrel> *That's alright Faerzen.."
  64. <Samstrel> **
  65. <Faerzen_Norstov> "This crown is likewise inhabited by a powerful sentient entity. Regent used to be with the company of another of my teammates, but again due to significant conflict I have taken him under my possession in order to protect both parties from further conflict."
  66. <Faerzen_Norstov> "In addition, he is able to provide some degree of mental protection for me from outside influences. I also communicate with him telepathically."
  67. <Faerzen_Norstov> *Reggie, this is my mother. I hope. I am uncertain, but as you said I will attempt some measure of trust for the time being.*
  68. <Samstrel> "Oh, well alright."
  69. <Samstrel> *Oh hello.*
  70. <Faerzen_Norstov> *However, I do not care how strong you emotionally feel about the importance of blind trust in others, I will not completely accept her as my mother until I have further evidence.*
  71. <Samstrel> *Geez Faerzen.*
  72. <Samstrel> *She's your mother. Don't worry so much.*
  73. * Faerzen_Norstov places the circlet/crown on his head
  74. <Faerzen_Norstov> *She could also be a copy of my mother created by this game to torment or mislead me. I shall attempt to remain emotionally detatched for now, and you will simply need to deal with it. I know you can feel pain that I feel, but within the game of SABATH, there is no avoiding pain so I find little need to apologize about this.*
  75. <Samstrel> *She's your mother. Don't worry so much.*
  76. <Samstrel> * Faerzen_Norstov places the circlet/crown on his head
  78. <Faerzen_Norstov> *While I most definitely agree you have some valid points on the concept of trust in general, I vehemently disagree on your stance of blindly trusting all strangers. I will remain in disagreement and that is all there is to be said on the matter for now. There is more important business to attend to at the present.*
  79. <Faerzen_Norstov> "Shall we endeavor to find the creatures, mother?"
  80. <Samstrel> *Faerzen, she is not a copy.*
  81. <Samstrel> *The game isn't playing with you on this.*
  82. <Samstrel> *Though, you are about to find out something.*
  83. <Samstrel> "Sure."
  84. <Samstrel> She walks out, and finds the two liches and waves her hand.
  85. <Samstrel> They wave back.
  86. <Samstrel> "Faerzen, grab some blank paper and pens for me please."
  87. * Faerzen_Norstov does so
  88. <Faerzen_Norstov> "I presume these are for pictures to be drawn?"
  89. <Samstrel> "Yes."
  90. <Faerzen_Norstov> "Very well."
  91. * Faerzen_Norstov turns to the creatures
  92. <Faerzen_Norstov> "It would appear that you are more effective at communicating with my mother through pictures than you are to me who is unfamiliar with deciphering your language."
  93. <Faerzen_Norstov> "If you do not mind, I--and possibly my mother as well--have a couple of questions for you, and my mother will translate."
  94. * Faerzen_Norstov hands the paper and pens to the creatures
  95. <Faerzen_Norstov> "Despite the fact that you previously indicated to me that you first met my mother over a month ago, she claims to have not been here for longer than the couple of days it has been since we arrived here. What is your explanation for this discrepancy?"
  96. <Samstrel> They write a question mark.
  97. <Samstrel> "They seem to not know."
  98. <Faerzen_Norstov> "How confident are you in your assessment of time? Do you have a concrete way of measuring it? Are you familiar with how long a 'month' is? It seems as though it would be difficult to accidentally mistake a couple of days for over a month as they are quite different."
  99. <Samstrel> They nod when you say "accidentally mistake"
  100. <Faerzen_Norstov> "How is that possible? The difference between a couple of days and over a month is at least an order of magnitude!"
  101. <Samstrel> "I think they are trying to say, they don't really measure time."
  102. <Faerzen_Norstov> "Understandable when you are surrounded by nothing but blackness."
  103. <Faerzen_Norstov> "Why is it that you took my mother whilst she was unawares of your intrusion to take her down here? How were you able to make the lengthy trip down? I was only able to after I obtained these mysterious wings."
  104. * Faerzen_Norstov gently flaps his wings a couple of times
  105. <Samstrel> They write "safe."
  106. <Samstrel> "They wanted to keep me safe. And they have."
  107. <Faerzen_Norstov> "How did you know to come find her and why do you even care about her safety?"
  108. <Samstrel> They write "father."
  109. <Faerzen_Norstov> "All of the other creatures I have met here seem to be bent on my personal destruction, not the protection of my family."
  110. <Faerzen_Norstov> "You met my father?"
  111. <Samstrel> "I... I have no idea what that means.."
  112. <Samstrel> They shake their head.
  113. <Faerzen_Norstov> "You have a father?"
  114. <Faerzen_Norstov> "What do you mean by 'father'?"
  115. <Samstrel> They point at you.
  116. <Faerzen_Norstov> "I am not sure I understand."
  117. <Faerzen_Norstov_> "As far as I am aware, I am not the father of anything, nor should I be."
  118. <aberrantArtificer> ?
  119. <aberrantArtificer> You there now?
  120. <aberrantArtificer> seemed like you poofed for a while
  121. <aberrantArtificer> the last message I have from you is about half an hour ago "They point at you."
  122. <Samstrel> yeah i did
  123. <Samstrel> bluh
  124. <aberrantArtificer> my internet dropped a couple times but I think it's okay now?
  125. <Samstrel> hopefully
  126. <aberrantArtificer> wasn't sure if you were trying to talk to me but I just didn't get the messages
  127. <Samstrel> oh it's okay
  128. <Samstrel> we're both here now :)
  129. <aberrantArtificer> continue?
  130. <Faerzen_Norstov> <Samstrel> They point at you.
  131. <Faerzen_Norstov> <Faerzen_Norstov> "I am not sure I understand."
  132. <Samstrel> yep!
  133. <Faerzen_Norstov> <Faerzen_Norstov_> "As far as I am aware, I am not the father of anything, nor should I be."
  134. <Samstrel> "Faerzen... They mean your father."
  135. <Faerzen_Norstov> "What about him?"
  136. <Faerzen_Norstov> "Please elaborate upon his connection to this."
  137. <Samstrel> They begin to draw meteors.
  138. <Faerzen_Norstov> "Yes, there were meteors and supposedly my dad was researching them. What do you have to do with him?"
  139. <Samstrel> "Yes, the meteors. What about them?"
  140. <Samstrel> One points to his friend.
  141. <Samstrel> He looks nervous now.
  142. <Samstrel> He writes dad again and points to it.
  143. <Faerzen_Norstov> "There are a variety of things that could be interpreted to mean. Please clarify."
  144. <Faerzen_Norstov> "There are many ways in which my father and the meteors are related it would seem."
  145. <Samstrel> "What do you mean? Why are you pointing to him specifically?"
  146. <Samstrel> He draws a ghost.
  147. <Samstrel> He points at that, dad then the other lich.
  148. <Faerzen_Norstov> "The ghost of my father?"
  149. * Faerzen_Norstov snorts
  150. <Samstrel> "Ghost... Dad... him?"
  151. <Samstrel> He nods at you.
  152. <Faerzen_Norstov> "Are you seriously implying that this creature here is my father from beyond the grave?"
  153. <Samstrel> He laughs.
  154. <Samstrel> And shakes his head.
  155. <Samstrel> He then writes around.
  156. <Faerzen_Norstov> "Thank Jurgen, because you would have quite the time attempting to convince me of that."
  157. <Samstrel> "Wait, around?"
  158. <Samstrel> "He is around, though?"
  159. <Faerzen_Norstov> "Are you attempting to communicate that somehow my posthumous father has somehow communicated with you? While not quite as outlandish as the previous case, it is still quite a stretch."
  160. <Samstrel> He shakes his head at you.
  161. <Samstrel> But yes, at your mother.
  162. <Faerzen_Norstov> "How in Jurgen fuck can my father be 'around' here? Let alone my dead father?"
  163. <Samstrel> "You mean a spirit of him is around in the land?"
  164. <Samstrel> He nods.
  165. <Faerzen_Norstov> "How can you possibly know this, how can my father's 'spirit' exist, and how the FUCK can it have gotten here? This is sounding more and more like an absurd haunting story of some sort!!!"
  166. <Samstrel> He draws a house.
  167. <Samstrel> He points to it.
  168. <Faerzen_Norstov> "You mean to say the spirit of my father has been haunting my house ever since he died and that he was transported here with the rest of us???"
  169. <Faerzen_Norstov> "How can you possibly claim to know any of this?"
  170. <Samstrel> He nods.
  171. <Samstrel> He points to his head.
  172. <Samstrel> "He was near the house at one point, Faerzen. He may be able to sense these things."
  173. <Faerzen_Norstov> "I am having a difficult time believing the existence of spirits in the first place, mother. The theorized Faucet endeavor of uploading of consciousnesses to a memory bank I could buy.... but spirits? There is no sound scientific evidence for the existence of such a phenomena!"
  174. <Samstrel> "Guess you'll have to see for yourself, Faerzen."
  175. <Samstrel> The lich writes, "QUEST."
  176. * Faerzen_Norstov rolls his eyes
  177. <Samstrel> And points at dad.
  178. <Faerzen_Norstov> "It all comes back to this FUCKING 'quest' again!!!!"
  179. <Faerzen_Norstov> "Every single time! This game expects me to 'grow
  180. <Samstrel> "Faerzen, calm down."
  181. <Faerzen_Norstov> ' in some way and follow this predefined path of 'destiny'!!!"
  182. <Samstrel> "He is trying to help you."
  183. <Faerzen_Norstov> "Perhaps he is, perhaps he isn't!!! How am I to know???"
  184. <Faerzen_Norstov> "I would be ENTIRELY unsurprised if this ENTIRE scenario were set up by the game simply as yet another 'test' to see how much emotional and physical duress I can sustain!!!"
  185. <Samstrel> "They helped me. I wouldn't be alive without them."
  186. <Faerzen_Norstov> "You could be a part of it too, for all I know!!!"
  187. * Faerzen_Norstov slides down the wall, sitting with his elbows on his knees and his face in his hands
  188. * Faerzen_Norstov heaves a big sigh
  189. * Faerzen_Norstov sits there for a while, thinking
  190. <Faerzen_Norstov> "I do not even know what to think anymore....."
  191. <Faerzen_Norstov> "Everything is so uncertain and yet simultaneously so high stakes. One cannot possibly know everything to be certain of a particular course of action, and yet the game necessitates a decision regardless. A decision that could easily mean the success of doom of the entire team."
  192. <Faerzen_Norstov> "I cannot afford to make a mistake, and yet at the same time I cannot possibly understand my circumstances enough to prevent such a mistake."
  193. <Samstrel> "Well, consult those objects you have. They may help."
  194. <Faerzen_Norstov> "I MUST be skeptical and I MUST dissect my surroundings..... but I look at myself and all I see is pessimism, anger, and conflicting emotions. I am developing precisely those traits in Lyra that I so detest."
  195. <Samstrel> "Then don't allow yourself to."
  196. <Faerzen_Norstov> "But.... how?"
  197. <Faerzen_Norstov> "How can I possibly attempt to understand the inner workings of this game without seeing the brutal reality that is so full of pain and death?"
  198. <Samstrel> "Listen to them. They are here to help, not spite you."
  199. <Faerzen_Norstov> "In this particular instance, I really have no other choice. What I am doing may be a mistake that harms the whole team, but without... whatever this assisstance is, I have nothing to go on."
  200. <Faerzen_Norstov> "Despite the sadism of this game, I find it improbable that it would make victory impossible, despite what *some* people may think."
  201. <Faerzen_Norstov> "As such....."
  202. * Faerzen_Norstov sighs again
  203. * Faerzen_Norstov sits silently, pondering.
  204. * Faerzen_Norstov shakily brings himself to his feet
  205. <Faerzen_Norstov> "This is a moment that I have known was going to come for a while now. Yet again, I have to choose my fate based on another's words, but this time I have no precautions I can take, no backup mechanisms."
  206. <Faerzen_Norstov> "Up until now, everything has been highly orchestrated. Like a machine. But now..... now I have no choice but to simply make a choice and hope for the best. Hedge my bets, if you will."
  207. <Faerzen_Norstov> "I have decided, that as absurd as your account is, I have no better alternative and it seems the most probable that you are telling the truth. I have no control over this situation, and so I can do nothing but decide and see where in the unknown my trajectory takes me."
  208. <Faerzen_Norstov> "I have finally decided that whatever this quest is, it seems worth my time to undertake it, at the very least to collect more information about this game and how it functions."
  209. <Faerzen_Norstov> "Please continue to describe this 'quest' of yours and this time I promise I shall listen attentively. I.... apologize for my outburst. It was most unprofessional of me."
  210. <Faerzen_Norstov> "I am afraid I have been doing that significantly more frequently as of late..... Nick says I am too high-strung. I daresay he is likely correct."
  211. * Faerzen_Norstov gestures his hand for them to continue
  212. <Faerzen_Norstov> "Please do go on."
  213. <Samstrel> They shrug and point to dad.
  214. <Samstrel> "They seem to think you need to find your dad... or his ghost. Where is he?"
  215. <Samstrel> They point to house.
  216. <Faerzen_Norstov> "How am I supposed to find him at home? I have lived there all my life since he died and I have never observed my father's spirit. Why should that be different now?"
  217. <Samstrel> They shrug.
  218. <Samstrel> "You may need to do more searching."
  219. <Faerzen_Norstov> "Lovely."
  220. <Samstrel> "I'll be safe here, right you two?"
  221. <Samstrel> They nod.
  222. <Faerzen_Norstov> "There is perhaps an item which I have been intending to alchemize for some time that may be of assistance."
  223. <Faerzen_Norstov> "Is there anything else you two have to tell me?"
  224. <Samstrel> They shake their heads.
  225. <Faerzen_Norstov> "Thank you for what I hope is assistance then. I appreciate it."
  226. * Faerzen_Norstov thinks to Regent
  227. <Samstrel> They do a little bow and float off.
  228. <Faerzen_Norstov> *What do you make of all of this? I apologize for my outburst previously. I can imagine it must not have been terribly pleasant for you to experience the brunt of my frustration.*
  229. <Faerzen_Norstov> *Were you able to sense anything in the situation despite the overwhelming noise of my own emotions?*
  230. <Samstrel> *I think they were around to help your mother, they are to be trusted."
  231. <Faerzen_Norstov> *Very well.*
  232. <Faerzen_Norstov> "Mother, from your research of father's findings, have you found much about the nature of this game?"
  233. <Faerzen_Norstov> "There are a couple of particular details I have been investigating, but if you have already done the research on them it will likely be far easier to simply ask you rather than reperform all the work you have done."
  234. <Samstrel> "What questions do you have?"
  235. <Faerzen_Norstov> "In multiple instances, I have been called a 'Knight of Light'. In my conversations with someone from a diffrent game session, it appears as though a similar title has been given to them. What is the meaning of such a name?"
  236. <Samstrel> "It seems to have to do with your quest."
  237. <Samstrel> "If I were to imagine you are the rescuer of good, of sorts."
  238. <Faerzen_Norstov> "Any further details? I have uncovered that 'Light' seems to refer generally to the abstract idea of knowledge and understanding. However, I have little insight into the meaning of 'Knight'."
  239. <Faerzen_Norstov> "I suppose if you do not have any further information, I shall find out in time."
  240. <Samstrel> "Well, if you think critically, you may figure it out."
  241. <Samstrel> "But, generally, I have no idea."
  242. <Faerzen_Norstov> "Of course you would say that, heh."
  243. <Faerzen_Norstov> "Perhaps my most important question is about this game itself."
  244. <Faerzen_Norstov> "More specifically, the 'win' condition."
  245. <Samstrel> "I'd imagine if you finish your quest, you win."
  246. <Faerzen_Norstov> "It is my understanding that we will be required to defeat the royalty of Derse in order to win the game. However, it is also my understanding that in 'winning' this game, we create a new world."
  247. <Faerzen_Norstov> "Is this correct?"
  248. <Samstrel> "That, I cannot answer."
  249. <Samstrel> "I only know what I do about the quest."
  250. <Faerzen_Norstov> "Because you do not know, or because you do not wish to tell me?"
  251. <Samstrel> "I'd say start there, and go on as you see fit."
  252. <Samstrel> "I genuinely do not know."
  253. <Faerzen_Norstov> "So then am I to presume you know little to nothing about Skaia or the Furthest Ring?"
  254. <Samstrel> "A what? No idea."
  255. <Samstrel> "Your father may."
  256. <Faerzen_Norstov> "Very well."
  257. <Faerzen_Norstov> "Although I have a feeling I know what your response will be to this question, I am going to ask it anyways."
  258. <Samstrel> "What is it?"
  259. <Faerzen_Norstov> "A couple members of my team have perished, unfortunately. On the other hand, a couple of others have perished but also returned to life. It is my understanding that dying on a particular slab of rock will result in this resurrection."
  260. <Faerzen_Norstov> "It is also my understanding that once resurrected, it is possible to be resurrected automatically at future points, even if one is not located on that slab."
  261. <Samstrel> "That is correct."
  262. <Faerzen_Norstov> "While I have absolutely no desire to die anytime soon, let alone kill myself to achieve such an end as others have suggested, I find it would be very advantageous to understand it."
  263. <Faerzen_Norstov> "Once such a revival occurs, is that automatic resurrection indefinite?"
  264. <Faerzen_Norstov> "I fear for my teammates who seem to be taking it for granted."
  265. <Samstrel> "I would imagine. But, I wouldn't tempt it."
  266. <Samstrel> "They may not be doing the smart thing."
  267. <Faerzen_Norstov> "So you have no definitive evidence on the matter, but you do have advice. Your thoughts on this are precisely mine."
  268. <Samstrel> "Precisely."
  269. <Samstrel> "I would imagine your father would know all about this."
  270. <Faerzen_Norstov> "Three final questions then."
  271. <Faerzen_Norstov> "What do you know of the black and white feathers and daggers?"
  272. <Samstrel> "What I said in the book."
  273. <Samstrel> "Do you remember?
  274. <Faerzen_Norstov> "The thoughts were quite scattered, as you mentioned in your note. I got the general impression of theme being significant for me to find. Can you summarize the information for me so I know I interpreted it correctly?"
  275. <Samstrel> "You find the feather in an area of knowledge, and the dagger in an area of betrayal."
  276. <Samstrel> "This should help more than what I wrote down."
  277. <Faerzen_Norstov> "Is there only one of each object?"
  278. <Samstrel> "That's the catch. You need a device to see the opposites of each."
  279. <Faerzen_Norstov> "Intriguing."
  280. <Faerzen_Norstov> "And I suppose you are not going to tell me much about said device?"
  281. * Faerzen_Norstov smirks
  282. <Samstrel> "Use your brain, Faerzen. I can't give all the answers."
  283. <Faerzen_Norstov> "As I thought, heh."
  284. <Faerzen_Norstov> "Second question: Do you know much about the existence and origin of this library? It seems peculiar that all of this information, not to mention this eerily accurate replica of our house, is present here."
  285. <Samstrel> "I know nothing. It may be a game construct."
  286. <Faerzen_Norstov> "Very well."
  287. <Samstrel> "I was taken here blindfolded."
  288. <Faerzen_Norstov> "Final question."
  289. <Samstrel> "Go on."
  290. <Faerzen_Norstov> "Throughout your research..... or even now... are you scared?"
  291. * Faerzen_Norstov looks at the ground
  292. <Samstrel> "Somewhat."
  293. <Samstrel> "I feel safe here, so I prefer to stay.
  294. <Samstrel> "But I have the utmost faith in you."
  295. <Faerzen_Norstov> "....okay."
  296. <Faerzen_Norstov> "How can you say that?"
  297. <Faerzen_Norstov> "So many people say that they believe in me and that they can rely on me."
  298. <Faerzen_Norstov> "How can you possibly say that when I have made so many mistakes?"
  299. <Faerzen_Norstov> "I had to have quite the discussion with Nick about him thinking too highly of me....."
  300. <Samstrel> "Because you are smart, Faerzen."
  301. <Samstrel> "No one expected you to know what you were doing anyways."
  302. <Samstrel> "It's a game you knew nothing about."
  303. <Samstrel> "That's why I'm here to help."
  304. <Samstrel> "Do you have anymore questions?"
  305. <Faerzen_Norstov> "...."
  306. <Faerzen_Norstov> ".....Why me?"
  307. <Samstrel> "I don't know."
  308. <Faerzen_Norstov> "It seems so many things come down to me, between this game thrusting things upon me and other people relying on me to do what needs to be done."
  309. <Samstrel> "You'll be alright. I love you."
  310. <Faerzen_Norstov> "It is quite a great deal of pressure...."
  311. <Samstrel> "That says more about them, than you."
  312. <Samstrel> "You will be alright."
  313. <Faerzen_Norstov> "......"
  314. <Faerzen_Norstov> "Thank you for your words of encouragement."
  315. <Samstrel> "You're welcome."
  316. <Faerzen_Norstov> "Mother, I know it hardly needs to be said, but be careful."
  317. <Samstrel> "I will, I promise."
  318. <Faerzen_Norstov> "There was an enormous monster outside that the two creatures were terrified of."
  319. <Samstrel> "Yeah, that's why I don't really leave."
  320. <Faerzen_Norstov> "They could do nothing against it. If I had not been here to dispatch it, I doubt they would have been able to do much for you."
  321. <Samstrel> "I know that."
  322. <Samstrel> "I will be alright."
  323. * Faerzen_Norstov looks over at the keyboard that his mother was using when he arrived."
  324. <Faerzen_Norstov> "I presume this was causing you issues earlier?"
  325. <Samstrel> "Somewhat."
  326. <Faerzen_Norstov> "What were you attempting to do with it?"
  327. <Samstrel> "I was writing."
  328. <Samstrel> "I do that when I get lonely."
  329. * Faerzen_Norstov frowns
  330. <Samstrel> "It's alright."
  331. <Samstrel> She hugs you
  332. <Samstrel> "Be safe."
  333. * Faerzen_Norstov returns the embrace, wrapping his wings around the two of them
  334. <Faerzen_Norstov> "Just as always, I will do what I can."
  335. <Samstrel> "I love you Faerzen. Tell dad I said hello."
  336. <Faerzen_Norstov> "I wish you could come with me."
  337. <Samstrel> "I know."
  338. <Samstrel> "I'll figure out how to message you, okay?"
  339. <Faerzen_Norstov> "Do you not have a computing device capable of doing that?"
  340. <Faerzen_Norstov> "I messaged you a while back but I received no response."
  341. <Samstrel> "If I can figure out some internet situation, I will respond."
  342. <Faerzen_Norstov> "If anyone can exercise their skills in computer engineering in this situation, it would be you."
  343. <Samstrel> "Now, go on. You need to keep moving."
  344. <Faerzen_Norstov> "This game just has a challenge for everyone, doesn't it?"
  345. * Faerzen_Norstov smiles faintly
  346. <Samstrel> "Precisely."
  347. * Faerzen_Norstov releases his mother slowly, unwrapping his wings
  348. <Faerzen_Norstov> "I shall be on my way then."
  349. * Faerzen_Norstov slowly turns for the door
  350. <Samstrel> "I'll always be here. Don't you worry."
  351. <Faerzen_Norstov> "...I hope so."
  352. <Samstrel> "Good bye, Faerzen."
  353. <Faerzen_Norstov> "Adjo, mor. Jeg elsker deg."
