  4. Fluff (Determines bonuses): The Illithid are an ancient species, having an innate array of psychic abilities. The Illithid are a dominant species within the multiverse, having existed on countless worlds, many of which they have conquered. In little more than cloaks, the Illithid prove themselves to be powerful warriors and diplomats. Native to the underground, the Illithid have created vast cities within caves, often mining deep into the ground in an attempt to wake their slumbering god. As an asexual species, Illithid do not breed. Instead, up to three times within their life, an Illithid may lay an egg into a host brain where a new larvae will grow and devour the host brain, taking control of the body. This process is known as ceremorphosis. Ceremorphosis is often limited to humanoid creatures, however exceptions have been known. Illithid diets require brains of any sort, so Illithid often farm animals or sapient creatures as a food source.
